Dunnyjo · 06/09/2006 10:24

it took us about 7 1/2 hours which was not bad at all. I love the journey, done it for yrs. It was the second time dh drove up there and he insied on doing all the driving lol he was washed out but i did offer (he does not trust my drinving! tut) must be a man thing lol there is nothing wrong with my driving

OP posts:
Tallysmummy · 06/09/2006 10:31

Your right i do think it is a man thing as my dp always complains when i drive so i let him do the driving and now he moans that i dont do any!!!!

We went to our new house at the weekend and it is very nearly finished!!! So hopefully once the paper work is sorted we can move!

Dunnyjo · 06/09/2006 10:47

Brilliant! i am really excited for you
Where abouts is it? i have not been down the far end, must take a little walk with ch and see what its all like now. Mind you with all the builders i think i will leve it till they go home! lol I am at Westland Drive

Tallysmummy · 06/09/2006 11:13

I would leave it until they have gone home!!! Its really bad up there when they are there, i think they think its a race track for there trucks.

We are on magister drive I dont think you will be able to walk that far tho as it is gated off.

Have you seen the show home? Friends of ours have just brought one . Its so big!!! Mind you they have 4 children

Tallysmummy · 06/09/2006 12:09

I have got chatting with a lady on the cherque farm website buying a 5 bed house who has 2 boys and one on the way, she should be moving in around the same time as me in about 6 weeks. She does not know many people in the area so she might be up for a meet-up.

Dunnyjo · 06/09/2006 12:53

the show homes look huge! the are very nice, would not mind one myself! lol
That would be great when we meet up, breaks the ice a bit for moving here as well as getting to know other mothers

would be nice to get to know the locals! We are coming to have a look around lee at the weekend (should really be packing but its so boring) Is there anything you think we should go and see?

Dunnyjo · 06/09/2006 13:30

parking the car up and having a nice walk to the beach. You can park up and walk throught Albacore Drive through to an alley way which takes you a 15 min walk to beach?
You could also take a drive to gosport and get the ferry over to Portsmouth and see the Tower. there is loads over there great shops its nice because its not far from here.

OP posts:
Tallysmummy · 06/09/2006 15:04

Thanks for that. Sounds like there is more to do there than here. We had a nice picnic on the beach the other weekend. I grew up by the sea and i look forward to the tought of bringing my children up there to.

Dunnyjo · 06/09/2006 18:02

I know its lovely living by the sea. I lived in Fareham for many yrs and was always taken to lee beach. I am so happy to be living here.
I am on a mission to find a gym in the area now. I have to get fit again!!

OP posts:
Tallysmummy · 07/09/2006 09:54

I know what you mean about getting fit. I want to before we ttc number 2.

We are meeting friends and having a pub lunch in Lee at the weekend now. Which wont help with trying to get fit (unless i walk there from Hedge end).

This thread is making me so "homesick"! I lived in Stubbington for 4 years before we moved to Holland last year. I soooo wish we could move back to that area but DH works in London .. it's just so far for him to travel. I'm very ! Lee is so lovely - I have spent many a happy summer afternoon at the park on the beachfront with the dds. Great part of the world to live.

Tallysmummy · 07/09/2006 12:29

Im sorry kando!!!! I do hope it is a nice part of the world as Lee is going to become our home soon!!!!

kando · 08/09/2006 09:59

It really is, Tallysmummy! The people are lovely and friendly and although it's a small community, there's quite a lot to do with kids - parks at the seafront, there's a nice park in Stubbington too. I used to go to a toddler group called "SPATs" in Stubbington Community centre, and The Play Shack off Newgate Lane was a very firm favourite with my girls and myself - they do a great coffee in there! Hope the move goes well - have a friend who lives in Cherque Farm and her house is gorgeous!

Tallysmummy · 08/09/2006 10:19

Thanks kando I can't wait to move there now! Im so excited! The houses are really nice. Im going today to choose the final finishings which im so excited about. I grew up by the sea and i dont think i ever complained about being bored!!! A day out by the water is such fun for children. Sounds like we have chosen the right area!!!

Stephi · 03/10/2006 10:01
