How old are you both GarfieldsGirl and Sparklemagic?

slowly · 22/07/2006 19:37

Yes we are set! 2pm Tuesday.
Looking around this site, I have noticed that dunnyjo has posted recently, so hopefully she'll see us on here soon.
Maybe I should get Yasmin to ask people if they are from mn, I could then pass it off as 'i have no idea what she's talking about'!!

GarfieldsGirl · 22/07/2006 19:50

I'm 26. We should all have a good chance to recognise each other from the LOs. I drive a Renault Scenic.

chocolatefudge · 22/07/2006 20:04

I have a Ford Focus estate but i might walk down there instead.

sparklemagic · 22/07/2006 20:30

Hiya, I'm an ancient 38, it's my birthday in August too so trying not to think about that!

I'll be there, I'm in a red citroen picasso.

looking forward to it - never met MNers before in RL!!!

Dunnyjo · 23/07/2006 17:04

Hi Dunnyjo, Great to hear from you!

If it gets too hot we could all go back to my house or have a coffee at Star Bucks in Whiteley.

Have you got one of those umbrella shades there quite good.

My 7 month old might get a bit grumpy aswell.

xx

Dunnyjo · 23/07/2006 17:11

Hello

Hiya, I have one of those sun tent thingy's. I'll chuck that in my boot, then there's that option for the babies.

slowly · 23/07/2006 17:49

Hi
Dunnyjo, so glad you caught up with us!

I do still have our pop up sun tent in the boot from our last paddling pool trip, so I can always get that out as an option. There is another play area by the cafe though, so that and food should keep the other little ones occupied if its too hot for the rest of us!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

slowly · 23/07/2006 17:50

Tallysmummy · 26/07/2006 15:25

Hi all

Im looking atbuying a house in lee-on-solent any advice?????????

What are schools like? dd is only 16 weeks but looking to the future.

Dont know the area at all.

What will traffic be like getting to and home from southampton airport each day?

Any help would be great.

sparklemagic · 26/07/2006 18:48

slowly, cf and gg, so sorry I didn't make it but ended up with DS at the dr's, he;'s come out with a nasty virus which explains why he hasn't been dropping off to sleep till bloomin' 10pm at night!!! I am sorry not to have met you though, if you are doing it again I am still interested!

Hi Tallysmummy - well, you get a recommendation for Lee on Solent from me, anyway! We moved here in January and it's the best move we ever made, we LOVE being so near the sea, and I find Lee is perfect for those with young children as the high street has just enough to keep you busy on a Sat am - library, bakery, craft shop, etc.....there are 2 or 3 pre-schools, and the local infants has a brilliant ofsted, the best I've read! Says everything is 'outstanding' basically. My DS will go there in Sept.

I prefer the older houses around the centre of lee, but of course there are lots of new ones at Cherque Farm (prob about a 15 min walk in to high street and beach?) though something you might want to check out ---- a fellow pre-school mum told me that the education authority specifically say that they do not have to guarantee a school place from now on, if the family is living in new built accommodation!

but I'd say go for it, being here this summer has been just lovely

sparklemagic · 26/07/2006 18:50

meant to add, I don't know much about the junior school but the catchment senior school (looking ahead!) is Bay House, which actually makes the Times Top 100 Schools list each year....so we are lucky here for schools.
