Time for a new thread I think, as our inane chatterings have almost filled up t'other one.

Venue booked, people paid. Now to sort out our gladrags and handbags for our annual drunken extravaganza. There will be gin aplenty and dancing on chairs SayCool and dances no doubt and the foolhardy will do their kamikaze Boris Bike tricks.

Saturday 30th November, venue known to the paid up crew, time - well officially 7:30, but I suspect there will be early starters...

Really looking forward to seeing you all there, and also welcoming the Mottley Crew coming from MNHQ.

Oh, and I've promised to make cupcakes with, shall we say, MN acceptable wording

Anyone know if Maryz has decided either way? I might have scared her off with my insistent invitations to stay with me

My biggest fear is people going "who are you" me telling them and being confronted by the blank look of non recognition, confirming my identity as a nobody :-/

Maybe a bit early to ask but what is the dress code? Do I need to dig my tiara out?

Doinmummy, Reastie, Smokin you have to be careful being wallflowers. People will descend on you with tequila shots and jaegerbombs.

Dress code = what you are comfy in. I'm going to go with whatever makes me feel least fat. I'm sooo depressed about my fatness levels. Lost lots, quit smoking, have put it all back on again.

Seriously though anything goes. Anything from lovely frocks (Pag always looks gorgeous) to classic pearls (married) to tailored suits with "ridiculous shoes" (LeGav's own words!) to great fitting white jeans (Heps) to brocade coats (Pistey i think - someone had a gorgeous one on last year) to jeans-with-spangly-tops (lots of people) to chinos and cords and birks and Docs and crocs, camouflage and flowery prints.

Actually one of the lovely things for me about a meet up is seeing so many different types of people all in the same place, everyone looking like themselves IYSWIM.

That's great . Joggers and t shirt it is then !

The two meetups I've been to have had people being nervous beforehand and saying they'd be in a quiet, lonely puddle of gin somewhere. It's funny though, there never seem to be any corners like that I don't think anyone has ever reported after the event , that that was their experience.

I am still double checking the dates and weather I can come - it's not far for me, so fingers crossed. I'm looking forward to putting names to faces!

However, she did say that next year, she would announce the Xmas Meet-Up date in about May and book her flights accordingly, and we'd all have to comply

Have suggested that if DH goes to his mothers this weekend and if she's coming here on 5th November for a few days (yep the week we move - but dd is singing that week)that he will really really need to see her the w/e of 30th because he won't see her again before Christmas - and that way I can stay out for as long as I like
