Time for a new thread I think, as our inane chatterings have almost filled up t'other one.

Venue booked, people paid. Now to sort out our gladrags and handbags for our annual drunken extravaganza. There will be gin aplenty and dancing on chairs SayCool and dances no doubt and the foolhardy will do their kamikaze Boris Bike tricks.

Saturday 30th November, venue known to the paid up crew, time - well officially 7:30, but I suspect there will be early starters...

Really looking forward to seeing you all there, and also welcoming the Mottley Crew coming from MNHQ.

Oh, and I've promised to make cupcakes with, shall we say, MN acceptable wording GrinWink

Doin, the group should now appear to the left hand side of your newsfeed. Just click on it and introduce yourself.

Well done to Hepsi and Biwi and Pistey and the other runners today! I am postiively orgasmic that apparently the very lovely BOF will put in an appearance. xxx

[gulp] Have now bought my train tickets. £96 return from Glasgow, getting in to London at 14:12, which should give me time for pre-drinks to get ready Wink

I did struggle with the "Main reason for journey" market research question: was it an "event", or a "day out" or a "holiday"? They didn't have "piss-up" as an option, so I plumped for "visiting hairy truckers friends" Grin

Must remember to top-up my Oyster Card.

Hello all, I spotted your fb group via a fb/mn friend and thought it sounded fun what am I going to let myself in for . Never been to a mn evening meet up before but I do love the festive season! Quick question to the organisers - is there easy parking at the venue?

Reastie there is street parking round the corner and also a couple of car parks that I know of for sure. Guy's is very close, so it's geared up for visitors round there.

thanks hep - do you know the area? I'm assuming there will actually be spaces in the car park/street parking? I've been reading the posts on the fb group and I'm a bit scared of you all Wink well, there has to be a wallflower at every party

Don't be daft. I probably know half either in person or from here and they are all lovely drunken people..

I know the area well, yes. If you want to PM me nearer the time, I would be very happy to give you easy directions to the best place to park. And to get to the area, obvs. Just let me know roughly where you are coming from and I'll do that no problem.

Hi, can someone check that my money was paid please? PayPal crashed so not sure if it went through . I don't want to get to the door and be turned away for being a tight arse!

I have been to two and haven't seen anyone scary yet. I remember KnottyLocks, BeachyHead, Porto, Hearts, Dances, TheTripletsMum, Annie, Hully, Pag, and some people by their real names - the name business gets very confusing Grin.

I went to a meet, Oooh, three years ago? Not been to one since. Know blondes quite well, and stayed at pisteys house and am friends with prettybird on fb but that's it. So I shall be a nervous one in the corner nursing gin too.

It's easier if people have names that are name-ish, or can be easily shortened to something with no more than three syllables.

Bella is easy. BIWI is "bee wee". etc.

Yes of course Bella - you are the petite pretty one with the luscious dark hair but I think of you by your rl name and that's where it all gets confusing Grin. And, and, and I did say I remembered some people by their real names. You know that Piste person called Justine Grin.

Report
BellaVita · 14/10/2013 20:04

Grin I will let you off then married!

Report
HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 14/10/2013 20:16

I'm definitely bringing a copy of The List helpfully annotated from my spreadsheet because I have the same problem as married - some real names, some MN names, some I know I've met but can't place, some I haven't met but feel like I know, ETC.
