Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

Bother, I meant Grin not :D

juneybean · 14/10/2013 23:33

Ooo talking of coffee, any one fancy a meet next week, preferably morning on Monday, Wednesday or Friday?

BanjoPlayingTiger · 14/10/2013 23:36

I would be up for that, though I will possibly have a 13 yo dd around with me. (She's on half term)

WannabeFayeMouse · 15/10/2013 11:42

Hello! This is SLF with a silly name (I just got fed up with SLF for a bit). I found you all! Thanks Indith :)

I would love to come, have to say the cheaper the better for me atm - we're heading off abroad again next year and it's all a bit expensive. Perhaps Banjo and I could bring our own crisps and pop and wave through the window...

BTW if you hear of anyone wanting to rent in Durham, tell them about me! We will be renting our house out for the duration.

Indith · 15/10/2013 12:02

Banjo I'm sure your dd would be welcome for cake :-). At least she won't be racing around the place causing merry mayhem. Not that our small children ever do that while we pretend not to have anything to do with them. Never. I rather like teen girls, they tend to be pretty fabulous.

Sadly I'm back in uni half term week :(

For night out, since price seems to be an issue lets avoid cellar door! Curry then?

Other ideas?

Personal rundown. Ask tends to disappoint and will be overrun with small children for an early dinner. La Tasca is just not really proper. Tis fairly cheap and cheerful though I guess. Nandos, Chiquitos etc just no. Not on your Nelly for a night out! Pizza Express might soak up some of the cocktails with dough balls but we will run into many small children again.

I think Zen is supposed to be pretty good and not too expensive actually. Worth a thought? Open from 12 noon too. a Little further to stumble form Ebony but not too far, nothing is in Durham.

Indith · 15/10/2013 12:07

SLF/Wannabe tell us more about the move abroad, have seen bits and bobs on FB. Sounds exciting! How long are you going for?

House rental when are you going? families coming over to Durham from abroad for short term for a masters etc often like to rent a nice family home they can easily get to uni from.

Indith · 15/10/2013 12:33

Oh and my last piss stick was a duff one, no blinking lines anywhere even in the control box Angry.

LeggyBlondeNE · 15/10/2013 13:19

O, I think I could come for afternoon cocktail at least! On exact timings are decided I'll figure out whether dinner is early enough for me.

LeggyBlondeNE · 15/10/2013 13:20

Indith, I have a bunch of the super cheap sticks left from when TTC if you want them for daily reassurance? ;)

Indith · 15/10/2013 13:31

I'll swap you for my latest pair of outgrown dungarees Grin

juneybean · 15/10/2013 16:02

Ohh our half term is 28th.

I do love a curry frankly.

Indith · 15/10/2013 16:14

Oops that's me getting confused with which week is which! I heard Banjo mention half term and jumped a week ahead.

Next week I am working Tues, Wed, Thurs and then either Mon or Fri, don't know yet. So could possibly have cake if I happen to be off on the right day.

WannabeFayeMouse · 15/10/2013 17:45

Foodwise I am incredibly easy to please :) I love curry, I went to Zen once about 5 years ago and it was very nice then. Things that I don't have to cook and/or wash up are marvellous, frankly!

We're off January, away for the next two terms. Shame it's not a whole year from the point of view of ease of letting, but hopefully it will be useful for someone. Exciting for us though, I'm really looking forward to being back in Germany :)

You've sounded incredibly busy lately Spiffy, in a wonderwoman sort of a way! I've been crap at Goodreads Juney it's like one internet thing too far (ha and MN too apparently!) but thanks very much for adding me, I lurk every so often for suggestions.

Are you TTC Indith (or just POASing recreationally?!) Sounds like lots to chat about in whatever hostelry we pick :)

WannabeFayeMouse · 15/10/2013 17:48

actually I could mention here, I just put up on ebay DD2's car seat - it's an isofix one, Indy Jane racing style. I'm not looking to get lots for it, just want it out the way tbh. Is anyone looking for a car seat? It's group 2 and 3, adjustable back, pet free smoke free home etc.

Indith · 15/10/2013 17:55

TTC? go wash your mouth out Shock

I'm just late. keep weeing on sticks just in case it magically changes from negative to positive at some point.

where in Germany? dh and I keep plotting holidays there at some point when I qualify and we have money. love Munich. good cake in Munich.

WannabeFayeMouse · 15/10/2013 18:58

bit further east, over in the Black Forest. Also good cake :)

So it is purely recreational then Wink Would be a lot to cope with, with the course and everything. But you do have very gorgeous babies...

WannabeFayeMouse · 15/10/2013 18:59

west. I'm lost. I'm never going to make it there am I? Confused

Indith · 15/10/2013 19:47

cake and alcoholic apples. good combo. you'll end up with visitors you're not careful Grin

juneybean · 15/10/2013 19:59

This is terribly last minute but my work day got changed tomorrow and I have an unexpected morning off work, any one around?

VikingLady · 16/10/2013 08:15

Too broke for the night out, which is unfortunate as DD is finally happy(ish) to settle for DH. Am free this morning though Juney!

BanjoPlayingTiger · 16/10/2013 08:37

I may be free this morning, but since we got home last night at gone midnight from picking up our dd from school it rather depends on when she surfaces. It would seem a bit mean to bugger off and let her wake up to an empty house on her first morning home Grin

Sorry for confusing people re: half term. My kids are at different schools on opposite sides of the country so my dd has a different half term to the schools round here. Confused

We've holidayed in Germany a few times, but have never been to the Black Forest or Munich as a family. We love the old east as it is significantly cheaper than the old west still and some of it is just fabulous!

juneybean · 16/10/2013 21:24

Ack we'll aim for next week?

I'm busy planning my little old life this month and keep coming across stumbling blocks! Why is nothing simple?!

Indith · 17/10/2013 18:40

woohooo!

nothing like the occasional 53 day cycle to keep you on your toes.

LeggyBlondeNE · 17/10/2013 21:37

Ah, hurray for Aunt Flo!

goldenretriever · 18/10/2013 06:52

And relax....

I would go anywhere for food as will eat anything (not totally proud of this fact), though ideally not too expensive.
