Hyde Park, Sunday 9th July (provisionally just in case any other events suddenly spring into their schedule).

So, who is up for it?

Welshboris - since you're coming from such a distance, it will be a hassle getting a picnic ready and keeping it fresh etc. Do you want to share mine? Just let me know how many people you'll be and whether you're vegetarians (we aren't but I can tailor it).

Amiable · 27/04/2006 13:02

I am also in London, and will no doubt cater for about 20 - I usually do. As long as you like all the "rubbish" - sausage rolls, scotch eggs, chocolate biscuits etc - although may bring along some hoummous as a nod to health!!

If anyone is driving and braving the London traffic I recommend parking on a side street around Kensington High St and walking up to the park - about 5/10 mins walk. The residents parking bays around there are usually not restricted on a Sunday, and there's usually spaces cos everyone around there seems to go away for the weekend :)

Cadbury · 27/04/2006 13:09

I think that me and the 2 kids can come but will need to confirm nearer the time. Spamhead (DH) will be overseas so it might be good to do a trip to see you all. Will keep my eye on this thread as to where it ends up happening. Smile

welshboris · 27/04/2006 18:04

Awww thanks amiable and Christina, I hadnt thought about the food yet!
May just DD round to different families like Oliver (more? more?)
Grin
Or I could just pop into Marks when I get to London

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2006 18:15

Boris - everyone will bring much too much with them, you don't need to go to Marksies. You can sit next to me and eat my lentil and quinoa salad :o

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/04/2006 18:48

Thats really lovely of you amiable and cristina.

Welsh, i think on account of you travelling so far, im sure the least folks can do is bring a little extra for you. I wont intrude on Amiable and Cristina's kind offers but i can certainly bring a little extra too for anyone else who is travelling a long way to get there. Even if everyone makes one extra sandwich, there will be enought of us to be able to cater for a childrens class party i think Grin

Well done girls. Smile I love MN.

CHICagoMUM · 27/04/2006 18:55

I'll certainly bring too much as I always over cater and my children eat like sparrows so there will be food going spare where I am.

fastasleep · 27/04/2006 18:57

Yeh but why just for boris MTS/IJ and mea re coming from Liverpool which is nearly Wales oh honestly. Grin

(No, I don't want your flipping picknicks lol, we'll be childless anyway!)

still not talked to IJ yet.... she's still not back online properly..

welshboris · 27/04/2006 19:04

Shucks girls, youre making me blush Blush Grin
Baby Boris will eat anything!

FrannyandZooey · 27/04/2006 19:35

Trust me, there is going to be way too much food, and as we are travelling, and it is going to be a warm day, and stuff like salads and dips, it will all have to be chucked if it isn't eaten.

It would probably be best if only every other family brought any food at all! I don't think anyone for whom it isn't convenient to bring food need worry or even mention it, really.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/04/2006 20:27

Errr fastasleep - see the bit in my lats post where it says "....I wont intrude on Amiable and Cristina's kind offers but i can certainly bring a little extra too for anyone else who is travelling a long way to get there...."

Can someone just tell me, have scanned through the thread briefly but still not sure where the venue is? We would really like to come but as we are travelling from Leeds and have never been to London before we need to find out how to get there, plan accommodation etc....

Thanks in advance...

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/04/2006 21:23

Thanks QV, am sure someone will point us in the right direction when we get there.

Looking forward to it. Smile
