Moomicat · 17/05/2004 15:06

Hope your DS not suffering too much - and you too Leander. The meetup was great, as usual lovely meal and good retail therapy opportunities before/after!!

bebby · 20/05/2004 17:41

Hi, just joined mumsnet and found you lot. I live very close to Calderstones Park - two boys aged 5 and 3 and work full time. I have good friends who also work full time but would like to meet others who struggle with work life balance. When will you all meet up again? South Liverpool is so small I probably know some of you anyway!

bron42 · 23/05/2004 20:39

alliwannado - sorry for taking so long to reply. Checked messages on the Thursday night but guessed I posted too late.
My DD is 4 this week and DS is 16 months. Are you still up for meeting up in next week or so?
Bebby - are you free Wed/Thurs/Fri mornings? for meet up at Calderstones?
Anyone else up for a Friday morning meet up in next week or so?

alliwannado · 23/05/2004 21:57

hi bron42, Friday morning is great with me as are Wednesdays and Thursdays usually too.... lets hope the weather is good. I drop off my son at school so can meet up anytime after 9.15 really.

bebby · 26/05/2004 12:33

Hi Bron42 - Sorry for late reply I have been without internet access the last couple of days. I could do a meet up on either Thur 3 or Fri 4 June or the week after Thur 10 or Fri 11 June. 11 June is youngest son's birthday he will be 3, now don't laugh but what do you think my chances are of booking a children's entertainer at such short notice?.... I know I have left this till the last minute but it just sort of creeped up on me. Anyone who does the South Liverpool area would be great. I am off now to buy party invites after a fruitless search on the internet for some clip art in an attempt to make them myself. Is there an agency that caters for full time working mums, you know someone who will bake a cake, make party invites, sort the entertainer, pour me a large vodka on the day....yeah I know in my dreams. Let me know if any of the above dates suit, and any recommendations on the party front would be really welcome.

eyelash · 31/05/2004 06:42

If you can do a Friday morning i should be able to make it with my two boys. Either of the next two are fine.

bebby · 01/06/2004 15:39

Eyelash - I can definitely do Friday 11 June, as it is ds 3 birthday and I will be off work, yippee! Apart from organising the party I would have time to meet up and spend some time with my ds. I live really close to Calderstones Park, if you are free on 11 June please let me know and we organise something more specific. Any other takers? I have put some info on the member profiles section if you are interested to know more about me

bron42 · 02/06/2004 15:00

Sorry for delay AGAIN in replying. DD was 4 last week and it's been quite a social time for us. (For a change!!)
This Friday 4 June is OK with me, think I might be away on the 11th. About 10.00ish at the children's play area. How will we all recognise each other?! Shall we carry a card with MUMSNET written on it! (Joke).
I will have DD(4yrs) and DS (17 months) with me.
Anyone else free at this time?

bron42 · 02/06/2004 15:05

Forgot Bebby to recommend party info. Do you pick up the "families" magazine? That's always full of info. and adverts for parties. Noticed the "happy hippos" (freephone 0800 074 8651)van at my neighbours over the weekend. Same an amazing array of fancy dress costumes that looked stunning going into the house. Can't offer anymore than that. They're based in Old Swan. Definately like the look of them for next year. Tney provide food and drink, party bags, NNEW staff, stories, dressing up (am quoting their advert here!)
Families magazine is in health shop allerton rd, espresso plus rose lane, Pod, allerton rd. Good Luck!

eyelash · 02/06/2004 16:09

I can make this Friday and have ds1 age 4 and ds2 just coming up for 2.

I wonder if moomicat, leander and/or AliP are free. Any other takers

As for recognising each other how about we say 10am by carpark side of the playground?

Bebby - anyway you could make the 4th? I can make the 11th as well in any case so we could do two Friday mornings in a row just to get it off the starting blocks.

bebby · 02/06/2004 16:54

eyelash - I have a hospital appt on 4th but 11th is good. Would be great to meet others - I think the tennis tournament is on next week so the park may be busy, I will check it out and get back to you. Do you live near to the park? My older ds will be in school, he is 5 it is youngest ds b/day on 11 he will be 3!

Speak to you again

AliP · 02/06/2004 18:41

tennis is on in calderstones park - but could do friday am on 11th - my ds is nearly one, anyone else want to suggest a venue? I don't think Caldy will be such a great idea!

alliwannado · 02/06/2004 22:22

Hi, I can do this Friday morning, any others? name the time and place and I'll be there. Cald park ok for me.... weather permitting, could meet just outside the cafe? I'd have son 5, and daughter nearly 1.

bebby · 03/06/2004 13:20

Friday 11 June looks good for some people, the tennis is on, but hopefully this doesn't mean the whole park is out of bounds. The car park will be busy, but cafe and play area should be OK. I am happy to look at an alternative venue, how about Greenbank Park? Lets not rule out Calderstones just yet.

Any other takers? Fri 11 - venue to be confirmed?

eyelash · 03/06/2004 20:47

So Friday 11 June it is then. Is the tennis on tomorrow or on Friday 11th? Would be good to meet up in any case. Bron42 - is this ok with you?

bron42 · 04/06/2004 08:15

Friday 11th is good for me pending a trip back to the valleys. Greenbank is equally good for me and smaller so we won't miss each other!
Alliwannado - weather looks daunting for this morning. Is there a way we can contact each other directly on mumsnet? Not sure how to do that.
So 11th OK for me at the moment.

bebby · 04/06/2004 13:57

Friday 11th - the tennis is definately on - I bought tickets last night, over the phone - I was getting bored watching Hells Kitchen (why do I watch reality TV! it is so unreal). We could always go to Calderstones in the hope of catching sight of a)famous people, b) men in shorts. Otherwise it is Greenbank or perhaps Sefton Park, we could always go over to Keiths in Lark Lane for a drink if the weather is iffy. I used to meet my NCT group in Keiths and from what I can remember they are quite family friendly. How are we going to decide on the venue? I am looking forward to this as a mum with full time job I don't get to meet other mums enough . Will check the site again on Monday - Have a great weekend, yeah its Friday, Vodka and Kettle chips tonight!

alliwannado · 04/06/2004 16:48

Hi bron42, have emailed you! I can do the morning of the 11th but busy in the afternoon, DD 1st b/day. 'Valleys'? where do you go? sounds like you get away a bit!! lets swap. Anyway hope to meet you all soon..... weathers meant to be very good next week so good for park! maybe we could start coffee mornings?

bron42 · 06/06/2004 23:03

Sorry that Friday didn't happen this week.
Alliwannado - thanks for the email. Am currently checking them but strange things happening - old emails appearing that I deleted several days ago which seems to be stopping more recent ones.
Bebby - read your profile. Very interesting with much admiration for your love of Vodka and kettle crisp. Gin and tonic mine and Real crisps from Home Bargain (they're welsh - like me!) Hence the trips to the "valleys" - South Wales where all my DH and my family live. Hence the difficulties we face with little time out for ourselves. Still, you just get on with it and I know there's lots of women far worse off than me. Although when I have a screaming day and both kids want 150% of my time, I think, WHY ME!!!
Sorry, going off on a tangent here.
Like the idea of coffee mornings. Excellent coffee at Espresso Plus on Rose Lane. One high chair there though. Think I might be going to the valleys Friday morning now and won't be able to make the visit. Sorry to put spanner in works. Anyone free Thursday pm for Palm House area, Calderstones or Greenbank?
