hi another newbie,
I am Ali and live in Blackburn with my three kids of 5,8 and 9. I work in manchester. I cant make the 15th but would be great to meet some of you sometime. Actually cant make the 15th for fab reason which is in paris with dh. First time away for years and very exciting so not too upset.

granarybeck · 09/04/2004 08:59

I am new to all this but i am from near manchester and would love to meet up with some new people. I have dd (5) and ds(7).

eyelash · 09/04/2004 09:42

Great to have all these new people.

pinklady - I have heard there is a very good NCT branch in Southport. They run coffee groups and a playgroup as well. I don't have the contact details but if you log on to the NCT website you can get details of their contact who should give you all the details. Hope that helps. And hope you can make the next meet-up. BTW the NCT will also have a list of playgroups etc in your area and I personally found these the best way to meet people. Your ds is also at an excellent age for getting out and about. Good luck.

glitterfairy · 09/04/2004 10:24

hi granarybeck I have dd and ds same age and am in Balckburn would be happy to meet sometime.

Janh · 09/04/2004 11:27

Could you come? I will have ds2 (10), FF has boys 5 and 3 and moniker also has two boys but not sure of their ages - similar to FF's I think.

glitterfairy · 09/04/2004 11:35

bron42 · 11/04/2004 21:58

Hi - Joined the site tonight and am keen to meet up with mums in the liverpool area. Is there something being planned that I might be able to come to?

Moomicat · 11/04/2004 23:21

Hi to old and new mumsnetters!

Sorry not been on mumsnet for a while, so just been surfin' to read all your news!

Eyelash - Congrats!!!!!!!!! I'm so pleased for you and thinking of you, hope the rest of the pg goes well and the homebirth -might even be able to do you a free birthing pool in sept/oct if you like!!!!!

Dunno what shift DH is on re 15th May but will try and meet up with you, wherever you decide!
Jane

eyelash · 12/04/2004 14:04

bron42 - can you make the 15 May lunch date for mums. There will be some new and old faces there and we will finalise arrangements by the end of this month. Where abouts do you live? And welcome to the site.

Moomicat - how are you? Yes - I would definitely be interested in a pool but am happy to pay the full price. Funnily enough I accessed your site last week for that very reason. Can you give me a call so I can book one in. I am due on the 30th September.

Hello to everybody else as well. And hope that lots can make it on the 15th.

bron42 · 12/04/2004 16:39

Hi eyelash. Live in L18 and yes, am free on the 15 May. Where are you meeting and could you tell me a little bit about the group, gathering.
Thanks

marialuisa · 20/04/2004 16:04

Hello everyone, hope that you are all feeling ok, esp Leander and Eyelash.

Would you mind if I potentially tagged along (after managing to be useless about organising a meet-up!)?

eyelash · 20/04/2004 20:49

marialuisa - great to hear from you. Hope you can make the 15th. I am doing really well and due on 30th September so almost 17 weeks already! Did I read you were thinking of moving to Reading?

bron42 - the venue or time haven't been finally decided yet but now is a very good time to start the conversation. Does everybody want to stick with the 12.30 meetup time at the Life Cafe or can anybody throw in any alternatives?

As for the group dynamics - the last few meet-ups were great and I can safely say we were all very different but got on well. Somehow new people seem to just find who the mumsnetters are! Hope you can make it.

Should we also do a rollcall of those turning up?

bron42 · 21/04/2004 00:05

Do you mean the Life cafe on Bold street? Would it be day or evening do?
Thanks

marialuisa · 21/04/2004 09:05

I'm happy with 12.30 at Life, but must admit it will depend how bad the jet lag is as to whether I make it.

Eyelash, DH very unhappy with the Uni and got offered a post at Reading. Unfortunately when we did the sums we couldn't justify it (house prices are scary down there!)and much the same story with Brighton. He's still looking though. I feel very guilty at the moment because I'm really enjoying my Senate House job and i'm finally back on a decent salary, which of course makes the idea of moving again even more traumatic.
Glad the PG is going well, if you're due at the end of september I guess you'll be spending the summer with your feet in the paddling pool.

eyelash · 01/05/2004 09:43

Hello all

Doing a bump on this to see if the 15th will still go ahead. I am still game and happy to book a table by next weekend. Can anybody def confirm they are coming? And is 12.30 at the Life Cafe ok?
