Yes of course - come along allatsea. Meet at the Marwell zoo restaurant (which I think is called Treetops - but there is only one anyway, and its near the entrance) at 12 noon this Friday.

Do you think you might come along then?

allatsea · 10/02/2004 09:47

I'd like to - the boiler's being serviced some time between 8am and 1pm, so I'll have to see how that goes.
Do I need a particular coloured carnation?

handlemecarefully · 10/02/2004 10:03

Well, I guess what we'll do is hang around Treetops for a bit ...probably at least until 12.30(its good timing for lunch)to see if you turn up......hope you can make it.

Carnations! - lol...

You'll spot me, I'm 7 months pregnant and will be with an 18 month old blonde haired dd. If you think you might make it, I can use the 'contact you through another talker' route to give you my mobile number ...and then you could always ring it and say "Are you the harrassed looking one sat near the window" before coming over!

(I work in Winchester by the way - at the RHCH, but not for much longer!)

bunny2 · 11/02/2004 09:03

Hi HMC, I must change my email detals on Mumsnet swo I can contact you with my mobile.

Allatsea, fab if you can come too. If your boiler isnt sorted we can always meet up at West Quay soon. Kiwisbird what about you?

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 11/02/2004 10:51

Hi bunny - I'll leave it until later tonight then and will try again via 'Contact another talker'

See you Friday. Weather forecast seems okay.....Btw I have been worrying that you might find my dd a pain in the arse. She is a typical headstrong 18 month old, so protests vigorously if spends too much time in her buggy and yet when you take her out of it, delights in walking in the opposite direction. So our progress over distance can be quite slow (me chasing after her and retrieving her)....was hoping that you and your ds won't get too frustrated with waiting for us to catch up at times!

handlemecarefully · 11/02/2004 10:56

Did I say 'walking' in the oppo direction? I meant running - whilst simultaneously giggling impishly

allatsea · 11/02/2004 14:49

It sounds like my 2yo dd will fit in great with yours HMC. We'll be easy to spot - double buggy, double bags under the eyes and blond haired dd saying 'now' and 'mine' a lot! I'll get in touch

kiwisbird · 11/02/2004 21:31

Might be able to swing it! My local geog is crapola where is this zoo... is it ok to bring older 10 yr old as he has teacher only day on friday!
Sorted!
What time etc?

kiwisbird · 11/02/2004 21:37

Junction 11 of M3 well I@m at junction 4 a so can't be far!
LOL
xx J
I'll be the one with a very tall very good looking 10 yr old boy and one teensy weensy 15 mth old girl, 3 wheeler buggy
probably stressed looking after Max (old son) questioning non stop in the car, are we nearly there yet, why are we going, who's going ya da yada, and DD wondering why am not in my cot today? She's a sleepaholic you see...

bunny2 · 11/02/2004 22:25

HMC, problems with my email so I'll tryt and contact you instead. I think I might drive after all, I love taking ds on the train but am presuming you dont have a suitable seat for him, therefore I'd be better taking him in my car.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

OP posts:
bunny2 · 11/02/2004 22:29

Cant contact you through this site either. Bum. LEt me know aboiut the car seat, if I bring my car I can just meet you in the cafe anywaay.

OP posts:
handlemecarefully · 12/02/2004 08:16

Bunny2,

I haven't got a suitable car seat for a 4 year old I'm afraid (hadn't thought of that - durrr!)...so I guess you will want to drive then...Sorry about the train thing. At least your ds will have the Marwell train to look forward to. So as you say - will see you in the cafe..

So it looks like its me, Bunny2, Kiwisbird (if you don't get lost en route! - its reasonably well signposted though), and Allatsea (boiler permitting!) at 12 noon in the Marwell restaurant. Should be fun...

bunny2 · 12/02/2004 09:20

Ok, will drive. We'll probably go earlier and leave by 3ish to avoid the Friday rushhour. See ya there!

bunny2 · 12/02/2004 13:10

HMC, what a palava this is turning into!! Someone has driven into the back of our car. Dh is just assessing the damage right now but it looks like I might not have it tomorrow. If I borrow a booster seat from a freind, can I still come with you?

(not normally this disorganised!)

OP posts:
bunny2 · 12/02/2004 17:30

me again!! I have a booster seat but no car. HMC, can you email me so I can let you know my mobile?

[email protected]

hopefully see you tomorrow

handlemecarefully · 14/02/2004 12:04

Kiwisbird,

Sorry you couldn't make it - we had a nice day, and lost track of the time; almost the last to leave the zoo at chucking out time. I'm relieved though, because we had worried a bit that you might have been late and we could have missed you... and had we had visions of you trailing around the zoo lonely and forlorn... So I'm glad to hear that the reason we didn't see you was because you couldn't make it rather than that we had missed you. Hope to see you in future.

Bunny2 and Allatsea - it was really good to meet you and your kids, have a good natter and admire the meer cats! I hope you are up for doing something similar in future either Bournemouth direction or around here.

bunny2 · 15/02/2004 20:52

Hi, I'm up for coffee next week. Also, if anyone does fancy a trip this way, Christchurch is a nice place and, if wishing to continue the animal theme, the Oceanarium is also good.

OP posts:
kiwisbird · 16/02/2004 09:43

DD is a bit poorly am taking her to docs today, she has rash, so if isn't anything too frightening I'll be in touch later and try and sort something out!
xx J

allatsea · 16/02/2004 21:00

HMC & bunny2 - thanks for last week, we had a great time and it was good to meet you all - hope your dds ok kiwibird.
We'd love to meet up again sometime, we're busy this week (half term), but maybe some other time, perhaps in a couple of weeks when we've recovered from dd then grandmas birthday.
Don't worry HMC, I've convinced dh that you're a sane person and not a stalker!

kiwisbird · 18/02/2004 10:25

Hiyas
DD has measles, explains a lot. She's ok ish now, sleepy, rash and not eating, could take her a few weeks to get over this physically as she is so small for her age 16mths and 15lbs
But she is a trooper so we'll see!
Will keep an eye on boards just in case miraculous recovery appears!
