Hi Dmum. I'm just north of Glasgow- about 30 mins from Stirling. Where are you?

M2T · 05/01/2004 09:39

I'm in Falkirk, originally from Stirling and work in Glasgow!! I think I fit the criteria.

JanHR · 05/01/2004 09:41

Where were you on Friday M2T? I thought you were coming to the Edinburgh meet.

Demented · 05/01/2004 10:10

Hello Dmum! I'm originally from the Stirling area but now live in Dunfermline.

Gomez · 05/01/2004 10:22

Hello Dmum,

Very new Mumsnetter here - recently moved into your 'catchment' area, Stirling

M2T · 05/01/2004 11:21

JanHR - I posted a message on that thread apologising.

I waited for a bus which never came, missed my 1st train then the taxi I phoned was late and I missed the 2nd train (only 1 train an hour that day). So I wouldn't have got there until about 2.30pm and thought that was too late. I was majorly peeved off and so was DS.

I promise to make the next one if I can, I was really looking forward to it.

Dmum · 05/01/2004 11:34

Hi, everyone. I posted my message last night and thought I was the only one in this area! I live in Cumbernauld (great shopping centre, beautiful town - NOT!!)

M2T · 05/01/2004 11:38

Ah Dmum - I go through Cumbernauld on the train every morning.

There is alot more on Mumsnet than there used to be in Central Scotland!

tabitha · 05/01/2004 11:42

Hi Dmum,
brought up in Glasgow, now live near Falkirk and work in Edinburgh but not for too much longer - start Maternity Leave v soon

Dmum · 05/01/2004 11:56

Hi M2T and tabitha, maybe we could introduce ourselves. I have an 8 months old son and am due to go back to work in April after my year's maternity leave. I'm a primary teacher.

OP posts:
Dmum · 05/01/2004 11:57

Sorry, that should be 8 month old son. Should read though my message before I post it!!

M2T · 05/01/2004 11:59

I'm 25 year mum to a gorgeous 2.5yr old DS and have one on the way!! Should be due around August 6th.

A primary teacher! You're a brave woman! I work for an electrical engineering firm as a Planner. Want to give up though or go part time, but at the moment DH needs about 5 promotions to allow me to do that.
Ah well.
It's nice to know there are Mumsnetters local to me. I might know a few of you!! Scary.

M2T · 05/01/2004 12:02

By the way, in case you are wondering here are a couple of the most common abbreviations used here:

ds/dd = Dearest son/daughter
dp/dh = Dearest partner/husband

Dmum · 05/01/2004 12:05

Sorry, going to have to go - ds has just woken up! It would be great to chat later. Hope to be back online tonight.

M2T · 05/01/2004 12:07

Is he not trained yet?? Children of Mumsnetters must learn to fend for themselves by about 6months old... This mumsnetting is a fulltime occupation you know!

Hopefully speak to you later then. Bye bye.

sammac · 05/01/2004 18:38

Hi Dmum, I'm a pt too! Can see whatsitcalled from my upstairs windows. Just outside Kirky and work in Glasgow.

Dmum · 05/01/2004 21:10

Any "local" mumsnetters online?

OP posts:
tabitha · 05/01/2004 21:11

Hi Dmum,
hope your ds lets you get back on-line soon.
I work full-time in Health and Safety and have 2 dds and 1 ds. Am expecting no. 4 at the beginning of February.

Dmum · 05/01/2004 21:14

tabitha, you're such a brave woman - 3 kids and another on the way!! I take my hat off to you. 1 ds and it's the hardest thing I've ever done!!

OP posts:
lady · 05/01/2004 21:21

I'm near Glasgow too. Near airport.

Dmum · 05/01/2004 21:24

Hi Lady. How many kids do you have?

Loobie · 05/01/2004 21:33

Im in Livingston and have been going to the edinburgh meet ups, I will keep an eye on this thread to see where and when this meet up will take place and may try to come along,With my 3 wonderful babes.

tabitha · 05/01/2004 21:35

Not brave, probably just mad. That's what everyone keeps telling me anyway.

Dmum · 05/01/2004 21:37

Tabitha, what age are your kids? You've obviously had great experiences with your babies. I'm only just starting to enjoy ds now and he's 8 months old.

OP posts:
tabitha · 05/01/2004 21:39

They are 16, 12 and 6.
