Anyone up for this???

OP posts:
ItalianJob · 04/04/2006 09:38

hmmmm - not convinced that ligament injury sounds like a great recommendation for that soft play! how central is it?

Jessajam · 04/04/2006 09:50

Think I can't make 26th as have just checked work diary and have a meeting in deepest darkest Camborne!!! So even annual leave can't save me now! But...if the weather is nice there is always the Hoe, views out across the sound, grass and benches to sit on, down the 5 million steps there is a little ride-on train....there are ice cream vans every 100 yards, coffee stands etc. You will be able to see the infamous tinside pool - which has been refurbed and looks quite tempting in sunshine! May not actually be open in april though - brrrrr! The Hoe is about a 15 minute walk from the station, 5 from city centre.
If it's wet or cold...nothing springs to mind!

essbee · 04/04/2006 10:53

Hello!

Fennel - if you need a lift I will have space for 2 assuming MTS's dh doesn't want to go (my kids will be at school)

I don't care where we meet but I won't have my children so make sure they do a nice coffee please!!

Jessajam - are you jimjams??

Jessajam · 04/04/2006 11:28

Nope, I am a whole other person! New to MN! Grin Hello!

essbee · 04/04/2006 11:30

Hello!!!! Welcome to MN Smile

fennel · 04/04/2006 12:02

hi Essbee. a lift would be good thanks. it would be 2 of us.

I'd have to be back by 3, or else I could get DP to do the school pick-up.

essbee · 04/04/2006 12:04

I need to be back by around 3 too so that's not a problem. This is, of course, also assuming that I get my car back on the road! (It died, just trying to find funds to fix it!)

fennel · 04/04/2006 12:11

otherwise we could go in my car, if there are several of us. if it's just me and dd3 we'd prefer the train but i do have a car too.

mum2sam · 04/04/2006 22:22

Hiya whens the meet up? Am I too late?

ItalianJob · 04/04/2006 22:24

course you're not too late, mum2sam. it's 26th April and going to be morning/early afternoon, so people can do the school run. we've not really narrowed it down (apart from Plymouth), but I'm liking the idea of the Hoe, weather permitting, as it sounds cheap!

essbee · 05/04/2006 11:33

Fennel - up to you but i'm more than happy to drive. Fixed car yesterday Smile , it was just the battery.

fennel · 05/04/2006 12:37

well done Essbee Smile

hi mum2sam! where are you?

mum2sam · 05/04/2006 19:39

Cool thats ok then im from plymouth

ItalianJob · 10/04/2006 21:22

Bumpety bump. Looks like noone has thought of anywhere better than meeting up at Plymouth Hoe!

fennel · 11/04/2006 13:24

oh well let's hope the weather is good then. Smile

tonyswife · 12/04/2006 20:11

Hi all....I'm new to MN, just wondered if I could gate crash your meet up? My LO is 5 months and we live in Honiton...it'd be nice to meet other "local" mums!!

Jo xx :o

mum2sam · 12/04/2006 20:26

playzone is quite good or at least its indoors and has a cafe if it decides to pour down

ItalianJob · 12/04/2006 21:58

Hello all, and welcome to Tonyswife, course you can come, we just need an arrangement now! Where is Playzone, Mum2Sam?

mum2sam · 12/04/2006 23:05

Its in crownhill in plymouth Italianjob. Its an indoor soft play area. Im trying to think of somewhere that might be a little easier to find for those that are not familiar with the area just in case we need a plan B.

essbee · 14/04/2006 02:29

Is everyone else bringing their kids?

fennel · 19/04/2006 15:59

am only bringing one child, my most amenable one. the noisier ones will be at school.

when is JanH visiting Essbee, are you planning an evening thing then still?

essbee · 19/04/2006 16:27

hi! Yes they'll be an evening do too, probably near janh & I if that's ok? Just in case I have to get back to my ds. I should start a thread soon actually. She arrives Tues 2nd may and leaves thurs 4th. So tues night?? or weds??

essbee · 19/04/2006 16:29

would you still like a lift next weds?? I don't know exeter very well yet but if you email your address I have a map!!

fennel · 19/04/2006 17:17

tues or wed night should be ok, my social calendar is currently not particularly full Smile. in fact i don't think there is anything in it for May.

yes a lift next week would be good.
will try and email/cat you. i live off Alphington Rd, which goes from the river past the big swimming pool towards the SW edge of Exeter.

mum2sam · 19/04/2006 20:13

How old is everyones children may ask. My ds is 18mths and apologise for any temper tantrums he may have in advance Grin
