Hi, I'm new to mumsnet and already addicted - why else be up at this unearthly hour? (DS 3y just been sick on me that's why, but that's another story Sad)
I live in Darton, have 3y DS, who's at nursery half the week, and DD 2 months. I'm 35, I'm bf little one and due back to work in September. I'm looking for baby play mates for DD and would love to meet up with other similar mums with new babies who are free at the beginnings of weeks.

Hi sarah not got our arses into gear yet will be putting this house up for sale in the next 2 months so hopefully wont be long now!

sarahhal · 27/03/2006 13:05

Just checking that I'm thinking of the right place to meet! Is it the main entrance which has got the little cafe/shop bit downstairs? It's the only entrance I can think of so I hope I'm right!

See you all Wednesday!

Chloe55 · 27/03/2006 15:27

So take it the meet is still on? Are we meeting in the entrance then? I have been walking there with the dog but haven't been into the cafe - presumably it is that building next to the car park?

amber5 · 27/03/2006 19:37

All being well, I'll be there. the entrance where the 'walk of life' is (names on a metal floor). There's two automatic doors and a foyer big enough for a few prams between in case it's raining. It's £3 to park in carpark, so you'll need some change!

Looking forward to it (enough tho dh keeps saying - it'll be a man!)Grin

Well my dh thinks you are all internet freaks with no friends and are serial killers Grin So what does that make me??!!!!

Chloe55 · 28/03/2006 18:26

Really sorry girls, not gonna be able to make tomorrow - my clutch has gone on my car Angry and I am crap on public transport. So, I am officially grounded tomorrow - I'll go crazy! I hate being stuck inside, oh well the dog will just have to have an extra long walk. Will definitely be up for your next meet though

amber5 · 28/03/2006 19:46

Chloe, that's a shame. I've just finished sharpening my knifes too Grin.
Hopefully we'll arrange something else soon. did you ask your HV about swimming?

Hi, only just found this.

I'm in Cudworth, Barnsley and have a 7 week old ds.

Would like to come on a meet some time but can't make tomorrow's.

Swimming would be good with ds but i didn't do swimming costumes b4 pg so a bit unsure about my overhanging post pg belly in one now. :o

mmesarahhal · 28/03/2006 22:22

Amber and Jobo - are you still on for tomorrow??
DS1 complaining about tummy ache so fingers crossed he's OK for nursery or else may end up bringing him with me!!

mmesarahhal · 28/03/2006 22:24

Oh forgot to change my nickname from the French names thread Blush

Chloe, it's no problem for me to pick you up if you want as you're practically on my way. I'm off to bed now but will check here first thing in the morning.

Chloe55 · 29/03/2006 09:14

Thanks very much for the offer Sarah, that's really kind but I have someone coming out to the car at some point today and he hasn't given me a time yet. Hope you all enjoy yourselves though and look forward to the next meet.

amber5 · 29/03/2006 09:22

sarah, did ds1 get to nursery ok? see you at 11 Grin

Amber - I forgot to ask the HV about swimming but I took him on Saturday anyway as the gym I am a member at has a section for kids which is warmer than the main pool. He loved it but I did see the bottom lip quivering at times even though the temp of the pool was 31 degrees - he screamed the place down getting dressed Grin I think I will be taking him again shortly but am gonna get one of those baby wetsuits so he can stay a bit warmer. I def think Scissett baths will be too cold for him at the mo.

jobo17 · 29/03/2006 10:10

I'm still coming along...see you soon.

sarahhal · 29/03/2006 17:03

Lovely to meet both of you ( or should that be all of you!) Must do it again soon.

jobo17 · 29/03/2006 19:45

Was lovely to meet you all too. We'll have to think of somewhere else to meet for next time.

amber5 · 30/03/2006 10:54

My car is temporarily fixed so I can come next time too Smile

jobo17 · 06/04/2006 21:35

Hi....are we going to meet up again soon? Shall we leave it until after the Easter Holidays?

sarahhal · 07/04/2006 08:50

Good idea Jobo - lot's on over Easter and DH on school hols so have him to occupy as well as the boys!!!

Off to York for the night next week without children - so excited!! The thought of being able to go for lunch and a drink in the afternoon is wonderful! Sad, but true what makes my day these days!!

Any ideas where we could meet next time?

amber5 · 08/04/2006 20:35

Any more progress on the name situation Amber? Hope you've sorted it out!

amber5 · 09/04/2006 10:25

things have been a bit crazy with family. have decided never to waste energy on my brother again. just about to have the whole thing out with mum when she tells me she's got breast cancer so obviously that's gone by-the-by now.
decided to call dd by her full name for a bit. dh finding it hard to change away from our original abbreviation, so i guess it'll probably stay as it is. sounds like i'm not happy about that the way i've typed it but we really are Smile

Shall i take the plunge and suggest a date to meet up? What about Wednesday 26th April? I don't know of many places to meet but what about Canon Hall? Feel free to mention elsewhere though.
