o.k. I'm bored at work so thought I'll start another threat trying to organise gettogethers :)

With or without kids... I'm game

The latest Ealing thread was considering a zoo visit of some sort when it gets a bit warmer... and now it's gone and gotten colder!

Hi, I'm here -- just not much computer time the past few days.

We're thinking of going to Kew Saturday uh, that would be tomorrow and maybe the local fun fair on Sunday (which is happening at the Old Deer Park grounds in Richmond this weekend). Depending on the weather. Drizzling at the moment; haven't checked forecast yet.

YanksUponThames · 14/04/2006 09:26

Oh, and if we meet up, MrsBigD, mum is fine. Grin I understand preferring having some backup!

YanksUponThames · 14/04/2006 09:34

But if you're blowing off a Kew visit until May I understand that, too. I'll get the books from you one way or another. Smile I'd be up for Kew on 27 May, but dh let me get a ticket for the Chelsea Flower Show instead (since we're probably not going to live here forever and it may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and since his boss talked it up recently). (I'm a frustrated gardening geek living in a 3-room walk-up flat at the moment) But dh will be minding ds all day as a result, and he may be up for a visit to Kew that day...

MrsBigD · 16/04/2006 19:48

Chelsea Flower show... wow! :)

Attempted Kew today (Sunday) and got there a bit later than anticipated... the parking queues were horrid! So in the end we just gave up and went to Walpole Park instead :)

Yanks... depending on weather tomorrow we all might catch the bus to Richmond tomorrow afternoon for a stroll around Richmond Park so will drop books of then. But I'll let you know in the morning

Of course Kew was @#$%! insane yesterday...kind of expected it to be. Probably today too. Which is why I went Sat., which was bad enough. (BTW, the 65 bus stops right in front of Kew's Victoria gate, as an alternative to the complete absence of proper parking)

If anyone gets near Richmond Green later today or later this week, I'll be here. Right now I'm about to nip off to Sainsbury's, but expect to be around all week until Friday. Assuming dh stays well. Not exactly relapsing at the moment, apparently, but getting (apparently typical) post-strep-infection side effects. Better today, though.

MrsBigD · 17/04/2006 14:31

am playing couch potatoe for the rest of the day :) started with jogging a couple of days ago and guess what... am stiff as a board now Grin.

OP posts:
YanksUponThames · 17/04/2006 16:21

Yesterday was my day to be stiff as a board! Ds passed out on Saturday after a good run around at the Kew play area, and since dh was knackered and we didn't bring stroller (sorry: buggy/pushchair), I carried him out of Kew and on the bus and back to our flat. And quite the load he is, now, too. I was starting to lose my Mommy Muscles before we moved here, but since we don't have the car + seat here, the muscles are coming back....

suejonez · 18/04/2006 13:36

You can park by my house if you're going to Kew. Residents parking in the week between 10am and noon but otherwise there's generally a space or two. About a 10 minute walk to the gardens, although you do have to tackle the underpass under the tube if you have buggies, as I live on the wrong side of the tracks...

MrsBigD · 18/04/2006 13:38

thanks Sue, we usually park in 'residents' parking near Victoria Gate but on Easter Sunday even that was all chocka :)

Did we all have a nice time?

Dorset was lovely, bit cold but hey, it was my HOLIDAY! Prob the only one til baby arrives. Sad

Bought a bouncy castle for ds and its like one you go on at the funfair!!!! Putting it down to another pregnancy buy....Grin Kept him happy all afternoon y'day thou!

YanksUponThames · 19/04/2006 17:27

Hey, sounds like a great trip SnowBoo! I hope we can meet up some time. I'm going to be out of town next week, but if we can get together at later meet-ups that would be cool. Hope the pg thing is going okay.

suejonez · 19/04/2006 18:56

I went to Isle of Wight for Easter with extended family (rich sister has lovely house there). Did nothing but eat and read for four days. I read 8 books - who said my life was going to change when Junior arrives!

MrsBigD · 19/04/2006 19:01

Dorset, Isle of W... all we managed was Walpole Park! Grin
Sounds like you had a great time :)

SnowBoo · 20/04/2006 16:14

I'm so tired today. Think if i had the option to try and get to Walpole i couldn't make it! My lovely mum thought it would do me good to walk the arse off me at the weekend. And she has! Had to got o bed at 6:30 last night. Feel like an old woman!

Not sure if i can make any evening meet ups as i am the size at 6 months as i was full term with ds and am breathless and shattered. But any day meetups count me in!

Wheres the sunshine gone????

MrsBigD · 20/04/2006 17:08

you take it easy Snowboo! We'll keep a seat warm for you on 11/5 just in case you can muster the energy Grin

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 20/04/2006 17:08

That is if somebody is still up for meeting on the 11th

OP posts:
suejonez · 20/04/2006 18:04

Where is Walpole Park? Sounds vaguely Twickenham'ish...

MrsBigD · 20/04/2006 18:29

very vaguely Grin it's next to Ealing Broadway shopping centre, behind Ealing Studios :)

YanksUponThames · 20/04/2006 23:56

Well, I'm up for getting together on the 11th. Right now (well, tomorrow morning, actually) I'm off to NC since it looks like my twice-postponed trip is finally going to happen. Dh has gotten better again quickly, bless him, and he's rather enjoying being able to move around like a regular person again (and getting clucked over by everyone at the office).

And yes, uwila, I will get you your sippy cups.
I'll be back May 1, but may be able to use internet in the meantime.

Hope everyone has a lovely week! Cheers to all.

MrsRecycle · 21/04/2006 09:15

The 11th is still in my diary as well but I may have to go away on business that week - once I know my plans I'll let you know.

SnowBoo if you're around this weekend and fancy meeting for a coffee let me know. Although by the sounds of it, you'll be resting. I just cannot believe how much energy I have at the moment. Maybe I can pass some of it onto you Smile

MrsBigD · 21/04/2006 09:50

I'm not pg MrsR but I'll take some of your surpluse energy nontheless! Grin

trying2bgood · 21/04/2006 13:42

as usual, have only just had the chance to log on, have been helping a friend try to organise her hen weekend but she is so indecisive!! Hope you have all been well.

SnowBoo · 22/04/2006 10:39

Are you free tomorrow MrsR? (Sunday) Dh is off to golf and we are on driving strike. Refusing to go anywhere if it means i'm driving. (This is actually after i scared myself and smashed my passenger side wing mirror on a parked car Blush) Told dh its cos i'm too fat. So a walk is fine. To get a coffee and cake Grin.

MrsRecycle · 22/04/2006 13:43

Hi Trying2B - my friend has a hen night coming up and I trying to get her to have a spa break then I can go along. Have you planned anything yet?

Hi Snowboo - tomorrow is fine with me. I'll have dds with me (8,5) dd1 looks just like me so we'll be easy to spot (as well as the bump giving it away!). Do you want to do Ruislip High Street then - Costa Coffee or Randals or one of the other coffee shops? Or else one in the Manor? Whatever suits you. What time is best for you?

SnowBoo · 23/04/2006 19:58

Hi MrsR. Sorry i couldn't make it today, had such a bad night i have spent the best part of the day in my jamas on the sofa watching CBeebies. Thank god for it i say. What else would a tired pg mummy do????

Are you free any other day? Next w'end will be out as its my birthday Grin and my mums party at my house ARGHHHHH why did i arrange it?? Let me know when you are about and i promise to get off my lazy arse and meet you!
