o.k. I'm bored at work so thought I'll start another threat trying to organise gettogethers :)

With or without kids... I'm game

The latest Ealing thread was considering a zoo visit of some sort when it gets a bit warmer... and now it's gone and gotten colder!

Morning Ladies :) enjoyed myself last night.

Thanks for tolerating my peddling books Grin
Yanks if you let me know whether you're about to get some more books so I won't put an order through just yet :) No obligation of course Grin

Snowboo... it was terrible terrible terrible and you didn't miss anything WinkGrin

Hi everyone

Yes, it was miserable.

Will have to do it again soon. How about May 11 or 25?

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 08:48

have to check when dh is 'on-call'. My diary is clear for both dates

What ho -
It was awful, just awful. I suppose I'll have to struggle back out again with you lot...
Interesting to have found a place (since I've not been here long yet) that knows about quesadillas and monterey jack cheese and long island iced teas. There's an Old Orleans in Kingston, too, BTW (at the other end of the 65 bus route). Another place in Kingston (across the street from the rail station, as it happens) that I want to try some time is Blue Hawaii. Which is allegedly family-friendly, and where you pick out the fresh meat & veg & sauce you want stir-fried and then they cook it for you. (i.e. like "mongolian grill" restaurants in the US, but with a "Polynesian" theme.)

Anyway, yeah, it was awful. Have to do it again some time. As far as I know May 11 or 25 work for me....

YanksUponThames · 07/04/2006 10:18

If y'all will have me, that is.

MrsBigD -- would getting to you by Monday (about the books) be all right? I know I can do a fax then, need to check round to see where it might be done before then.

MrsRecycle · 07/04/2006 10:33

Yes absolutely awful NOT.

Thanks for a lovely evening - can't believe the time went so quickly. Am sitting here with a strong coffee (not for hangover - to keep me awake).

I can only do the 11th May.

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 10:42

so shall we pencil in 11 May then?

And of course we'll have you Yanks... I love sitting between 2 highly intelligent well educated ladies... it might rub off on me Grin

I'll even trapse to Kingston... just have to check when the last bus goes back. Could drive but that would mean not drinking... oh the horror! Hmmmmmmmm Mongolian BBQ (as they are called over here)

MrsR... I AM nursing a hang-over... aren't I pathetic! 2 glasses of wine, followed by a sleepless night with ds and I'm wasted!

Yanks... no problem waiting till Monday :) But if you are in a rush Grin you can always just send me an email with the order, stating that you are happy for me to take an extra £xyz off the credit card details you already supplied :)

Uwila · 07/04/2006 11:01

Oh really? Is Blue Hawaii and mongolian barbecue styl place. I love mongolian barbecues. I walk by Blue HAwaii at least weekly and have never been in. I'm going to check it out very very soon.

Sounds like 11 May, which it just so happens is my dad's birthday. So we can all go out and celebrate in his honour... but he lives in th eUS so we won't bother inviting him. Poor old dad...

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 11:02

:) we can send him a picture of us toasting him Grin

He's a recovering alcoholic. So, he might not appreciate that sentiment. Shock

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 11:12

we could all get non-alcoholic cotails but I do see your point... lift our bowls of steaming Hawaiian Grill food maybe? Aloha!... oh boy do I need a paracetamol!

OP posts:
Uwila · 07/04/2006 11:21

What? Get non-alcoholic cocktails? Don't be stupid.

So, should we do this Blue Hawaii place in Kingston? You guys can all get on the 65 Bus. (It will be like a field trip Grin.

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 11:33

Yippieh! haven't been on a field trip in ages

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 07/04/2006 12:05

Fine with me - but can't do the field trip - thank goodness - buses and pg just don't go together.

Chiquito's do a really nice non-alcoholic cocktail - in fact so nice I felt quite tipsy after one.

Hope your feeling a bit better MrsBigD.

SnowBoo · 07/04/2006 20:04

Whats a bus?

SnowBoo · 07/04/2006 20:04

Glad you all had lovely evening....Sad Grin

MrsBigD · 07/04/2006 20:21

no we didn't Grin

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 08/04/2006 11:00

Can you make the 11th Snowboo? If so I can give you a lift.

Ohhh just wanted to let you all know that I'm having a boy!

SnowBoo · 08/04/2006 22:58

Hahaha another boy! Must be the air we are breathing. Congrats Grin
He won't know whats hit him having older sisters.... Will have to think of boys names now. My Mil bought a baby name book, tried to give to dh as she hates our choice! Erm, i'm the one puking and feeling like an elephant, i think i get a say!!!!

11th. Will have to consult my mum as my godmothers daughter is coming over from Oz with her new baby girl, Mercededes. Will check with her the date. But hopefully thats ok.

I'm oh so tired. Think i'll have a lie in tomorrow (I wish....)

MrsR :) I believe biologically your dg is actually right ... it was down to dh to 'sort out' the boy gene Grin, but isn't it ust annoying how much praise the blokes get for their small donation? GrinGrin

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 09/04/2006 10:24

I know she is right but at least dh is supporting me and thinks as my dm had 2 dds and then a ds, history is repeating itself and it's down to me. Mind you anything that gets dh up in my dg's expectations is good as she's hard to please.

SnowBoo · 09/04/2006 19:44

My paternal aunt and dg both had five boys before a girl so this is my third boy and i'm not even going to bother trying for a girl. Would only end up with mil on my case again! 'Why haven't you got a girl?? I specifically ordered one.'
'Sorry, they'd sold out....!'

And ds has never stayed with mil, he has no desire to! He goes to my mums once every couple of months but she has had my sis there so its been a bit hectic. Promised me within the next few weeks he can go and stay. I'm so tired i am dizzy and feel horrible. Teary and hormonal!!!!

MrsBigD · 10/04/2006 08:03

what do you mean you're not even trying for a girl! How dare you disappoint your mil Grin. Sometimes I wonder why people can't just be happy with 'the child's healthy' no matter the gender :)

OP posts:
SnowBoo · 10/04/2006 12:39

Yeah, espec as she knows how worried i am due to prev m/c. All i want is a happy healthy little baby.

Where are we all going on the 6th? Or was it the 11th....hmmmm.

Need to go somewhere that sells raw carrots and cold tomatoes. Thats all i want to eat!
