o.k. I'm bored at work so thought I'll start another threat trying to organise gettogethers :)

With or without kids... I'm game

The latest Ealing thread was considering a zoo visit of some sort when it gets a bit warmer... and now it's gone and gotten colder!

Sometimes my ds is 3.5 going on 35, but fortunately other times he's just a 3 yr old.
In his monologues a while ago, Bill Cosby said his dad passed along The Curse, which every parent gets whether they want it or not. The Curse is, "may you have children that are just like you were." So far it's working on me! Ds gets plenty of Clever Ideas, which he generally keeps pretty quiet about, as he's clearly already operating under the same rule I always did: it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission...

MrsBigD · 16/03/2006 19:39

my favourite is 'insanity is hereditary... you get it from your children' Grin

Argh... nanny is off sick again... oh how I hate 'pass the bug'. Anybody of you Ealingites who's lo has had chickenpox would like to come round with their lo's for a chat, coffee so kids can play? dd is totally bored as still too ill to go to nursery but well enough to drive me bonkers!

Morning all!

20weeks today....Feeling a bit more relaxed. Will feel better at 38weeks!

Would love ds to catch chicken 'spots' but i can't get it....ANd had it twice previously so it would be sods law that i caught it again....

Ds is still in bed asleep. In shock. First time ever....

6th April is fine wiht me. And i managed to fit thru doors to a restaurant last night so i should be ok.

MrsBigD · 17/03/2006 09:38

Boopert I fully understand. I'm still waiting to break out in hives myself

My mother says, "Grandchildren are your reward for not killing your children."

Same idea obviously. The reward is watching us suffer as she did.

Boopert · 18/03/2006 20:23

Well little un slept til 9:45am y'day. Still in shock. Where are you all?

YanksUponThames · 18/03/2006 21:42

Still here, but not posting much.....dh has been moaning and hovering about all week, with an unusually tedious case of the flu. Ds & I already had gotten over either a less tedious coughing virus, or it was the same thing and we just didn't moan about it so much Smile. But anyway, been kept busy all day every day fetching food, tea, medicine, etc. etc., listening to him moan and snork and take his temperature every 20 minutes or so and whine about the fever not being all gone yet. He admits he's not the best patient in the world....(naturally I don't like for him to suffer, but he does make rather heavy sledding of it all) Grin

Knock wood, though, I should still be able to get to MrsBigD's on Thursday. If anyone has any chicken pox pustules to spread around, it will be interesting to see if ds's vaccine works. They've recently started vaccinating for it in the U.S. -- which I thought incredibly lame given that it's not exactly a dangerous disease or anything, but apparently a small number of people can have weird & tedious virus outbreaks much later in life ("shingles" etc.), so I guess they've decided to try to cut it down. Whatever.

MrsBigD · 19/03/2006 07:53

Same here ... not much time to post... dh is in grumpy mode (which I have decided to decidedly ignore), but at least dd seems to be over her cp bar the odd little spot. Ds hasn't started yet but last night was a nightmare screaming festival... teeth I think. So what's sleep? Boopert I envy you so!

Looking forward to seeing whoever can make it on Thursday :) and defo looking forward to 6 april. I NEED A DRINK Grin and time out from family life

Oh no, MrsBig, i couldn't slepep. Sods law. Was laying there waiting for him to wake up fgs! My one any only chance of sleep and i let it pass me by......

MrsBigD · 19/03/2006 18:39

oh how I know that one... we usually go to bed at 2200 then usually ds wakes at 2300... except for of course when we think 'well we'll wait till 2300 so he won't wake us after 1h sleep' because then he doesn't... sods law indeed Grin

Boo - can we swap? DD2 was up and dressed ready to go to Grandmas by 6am Saturday and bed companion dd1 woke me up at 6.30am this morning. Maybe they think I need some practice at early mornings.

Boopert · 19/03/2006 19:10

Don't worry, ds and dh were both up at 6am. Waiting for the Grand Prix. So i was up.
(Didn't mind thou as secretly like it...)Blush

But the consolation is...he fell asleep at 6pm so i can now reeeeelaxxxx. Ahhhhh Grin

MrsBigD · 19/03/2006 19:20

Having that Monday feeling........we are all getting over a cr6ppy cold apart from dh who seems to be in perfect health! Typical and he is at work so of course can not help me at all! Roll on good weather!! Where is it? Hope you had good weekends. I took my dd1 to see don't let the pigeon drive the bus at the lyric, hammersmith, their kiddies programme is really good although it is a bit expensive!

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 21/03/2006 13:53

MrsBigD · 21/03/2006 14:25
