I'm moving to Leeds early March, so hopefully yes, sometime between the move and the arrival of DS2 (late March). I know there are some other Leeds mums on MN too...

tribpot · 26/02/2006 20:50

Hello! Leeds mum here, but alas I can't do anything in the next week or so. Will keep tabs on the thread to see how things progress.

Spiker, best of luck with your move!

I'm a Leeds mum too, is this with or without kids?

spiker · 26/02/2006 21:03

Thanks Tribpot - I'm huge now so everything is happening very s-l-o-w-l-y. I'm moving to Horsforth on 9th March, so if anything is arranged for after 12th March, I should be up for it. Will likewise keep watching the thread.

As long as it's not on the M1, I don't mind...

I don't know, I might not even make it to a midwife before I pop. Is LGI good? What about Harrogate?

Spiker, I am "Horsforth adjacent" as they say, and one of my fellow Junies lives in Horsforth too, obv v popular!

spiker · 26/02/2006 21:17

No - a full on 24 hour labour, contractions every 3 mins from the start, so I should have plenty of time to get to wherever I want. I was 40+3. Hoping for a 12 hour labour this time, but I know that this one is bigger!

I will probably go to LGI though.

spiker · 26/02/2006 21:20

Tribot - we picked Horsforth for the kid-friendly vibe, really liked it. Can't wait to move!

YG - DS1 has just turned 2. How are old are your DDs?

tribpot · 26/02/2006 21:33

Hee hee Yorkie girl, it's okay to live elsewhere in Leeds. I used to live in Burley Park, but that was back in the day [that I was a student!]

Btw, I had my baby back at home in Suffolk and I must say, the standard of care I heard about up here from a friend in Harrogate sounded like utter crap in comparison. Not wishing to alarm anyone of course, but as well as no 12 week scan, she got no results from her 20 week scan (other than "it's okay") and had a very long and difficult labour that I don't feel was properly managed. Maybe an argument against Harrogate but that's all hearsay of course.

Oh well I might as well confess now that I too did my time in LS6 and LS2 when I was student...

I did 2 addresses in Burley Park and 1 in Woodhouse. The recent cold spell has reminded me that I had icicles inside of my window in the second year, up until early April. Bit scared about the northern climate now - I've gone soft from living in London...

Gotta go do some packing now - DH is looking daggers at me!

tribpot · 26/02/2006 22:00

You wouldn't believe the students nowadays (she said, saying about 100 years old). It's all mod cons and no damp coming straight through from the outside wall all over everything - amateurs

I lived in Bod in my first year - LS6 was a step in the right direction

Bod is now "THE party hall", so I hear. (My babysitter is a first year, she lives in Ellerslie, which is no longer girls-only!). To have lived without knowing Bod Bar is not to have lived at all in my view

Which one was Charles Morris? I know Henry Price ..

I changed ds' nappy outside Ellerslie last weekend, and THAT is something I never thought I would do!
