Oh, I hope you all have a lovely time, I'm so envious. It occurred to me today that on the 30th Nov last year I was at the mumsnet xmas meet and on the 30th Nov this year I was giving birth Please someone fill us in on how it was once it's all over. fsil, DON'T smoke! There's no such thing as one cigarette, Twink is right. That goes for you too Ms Scummy...

bossykate · 06/12/2003 21:04

me too, www, envious, i mean!

Janstar · 07/12/2003 11:18

Morning girls! Am I the first one out of bed?

prufrock · 07/12/2003 11:56

Nope I was up at 7.30. But then I didn't drink.
It was great to see everybody - but I still didn't manage to speak to half of you.

Whe I left everybody was on the dance floor showing the Atomic kitten girls how to really do it!

Ailsa · 07/12/2003 12:00

I've been wondering how it went as well. Really wish I could have been there Oh well here's to next year

Janstar · 07/12/2003 12:08

Most impressive Pru.

Twink · 07/12/2003 12:45

I've only just got home !!!! Bl**dy trains !

popsycal · 07/12/2003 12:48

twink!!!
how>?

Janstar · 07/12/2003 12:51

What happened Twink?

Janstar · 07/12/2003 14:40

I have to go now or my dh is going to think that my whole life revolves around mumsnet (it does too)!

I look forward to hearing what happened to you Twink - I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can catch up with your story. I also had problems getting home - there were no cabs to be had and I ended up missing my train and grabbing a night bus which only took me to a place about 15 minutes drive from home. My very kind longsuffering dh got out of bed to drive there and rescue me. All my own fault since I had failed to work out where the tube station was and get myself back to catch my train. I can't beleive I was so dumb - I also got myself lost on the way there. I am normally much better organised so lets hope its a temporary aberration.

Twink may I say again I am so sorry I was rude to you - just a case of mistaken identity, I thought it was that pink feather tart coming up behind me to annoy me - hope I didn't spoil your night.

Custy thank you so much for arranging it all, you did a wonderful job.

Scummy you were so sweet to me, thanks for your offers of help.

And it was so lovely to meet you all expecially you Twinkie - you are just as lovely as I thought you would be and so kind of you to treat us all to champagne. You were amazingly cheery considering all the crap you have been through lately and I really hope you had fun.

My dh has scored himself loads of brownie points and is enjoying collecting them.

Twink · 07/12/2003 15:18

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I already had a bed booked at Scummy's so it wasn't quite as bad as it appeared (unlike my first MN meet when I went out for lunch and got back at bedtime), but it did take over 4 hours to do a 1.5 hour journey this morning - not a happy bunny !!!!

I was trying to get home quite early (cos dh expected me back sometime this afternoon still trolleyed and I wanted to prove him wrong) so forwent my lie-in and got shafted by signal failure - grrrrr !

Lovely night, thanks to Custy for coping with the stress of organising it, and next time fisil please stop me from dancing - I think we suceeded in keeping you away from the fags - didn't we ?

Janstar, glad you eventually got home ok, and yes I will forget you ever said anything !

I realy enjoyed myself - shame I didn't get to talk to everyone.

The stats : Prufrock beat me up by 15 minutes (7:45), but I beat Twink home by 12 hours!

Custy, that was another great mumsnet evening, thanks to you for organising it!
Glad everyone (even Tigermoth) got up on the dance floor.......and some of us didn't get off it!
Loved seeing the people I already knew again, and it was great meeting those new faces.
Hope to see you all again!

Tortington · 08/12/2003 13:01

well pru is organising next years .....something about some little shack ( more of a shed really) in barbados.

thank you scummy for letting me have the bottom bunk, i cant believe how tidy your kids room is am sure my kids room has a floor somewhere! thanky ou for oetting us drink your beer - and i think everyone smoked your fags

cam made me laugh all night. hopefully i will be able to tell the difference between twink and twinkies postings - one has xmas bobbles the other champagne.

the really 'orrible thing is how nice everyone was.

we nearly all wore black or dark colours and danced in a circle!

i managed to flirt ever so slightly with the barman - who told me he only does the bar tender thing for social reasons - he really has a ferrari!

and janstar told the atomic kitten girlies to f*ck off!

fantastic

You are all more than welcome to join me in the shack next year - you'll have to make your own way there though. (And put up with the size 8 ex-model Step-MIL and bigoted nasty FIL)
I still think BMX courses are a good idea!

Well done Janstar for telling the kittens where to go.

Janstar · 08/12/2003 13:24

Unfortunately poor Twink came up behind me and tried to drag me onto the dance floor. Fearing an assault from the Kittens I gave her a mouthful before I realised it was her.

I then drove her batty apologising all night for my mistake. You know how drunk people go on and on.....and on.....

There should be a sheepish looking emoticon and maybe a drunken one just for me

Young slender Atomic Kittenish looking things waving pink feather boas around and trying to drag old fat people like me onto the dance floor to further enhance their good looks.

It drives me mad when people who I don't know, have never met etc think they can grab me and drag me onto a dance floor or anywhere else.

I'm just the same if I am watching any kind of show and they start grabbing 'volunteers' out of the audience. I head for the exit immediately.

I am probably just a miserable cow.

My hangover has just faded... but only just and I've made a decision never to drink again! Deja vu to last year and the first one I ever went to... Sorry for being the worst host in the world ever, Custy and Twink. I emerged from my pit late yesterday afternoon to find you gone, had some more alka seltzer and went back to bed, emerging only when the outlaws arrived with my kids that evening. Smiled burrily at said kids and put them to bed. What a wonderful mother I am, to be sure to be sure. Anyway, I had a wonderful, extremely drunken time and it was great to see all the old and new faces. Thanks so much for organising, Custy.
