Hi all! Sorry to start a new thread but I'm on dialup atm so finding it hard to post on the old one as it's so long!

Happy New Year Everyone.

Mishi - course we blooming haven't managed to organise a meet without you to kick us all into touch . But how about having a meet up at Granmas at Hunts Cross on the morning of 23rd Jan 2005 (best after 20th as DH get's paid on 20th so better cash flow position!!)

OP posts:
alliwannado · 07/03/2006 17:46

I am at home rest of week, DH has been at home 2 days and my turn to take over. he was very impressed with SF, loved it actually!!
hmmm what to do for the rest of the week :(
will be out next week and hope to meet up then

biglips · 07/03/2006 17:46

alli - speedy recovery for your little one Sad

BROWNY · 07/03/2006 19:15

BL - Ok, no worries!

workingmumnhs · 07/03/2006 19:17

You are all going to laugh at me. As may have been noticed before my geography is VERY LIMITED. I am truly crap. All these meet ups sound great but I'd be lost wandering around Liverpool City Centre as it is the only real place I know. Not too bad at Everton and Anfield as did my community placement there, but Whiston is as far away as Austrailia to me. I don't drive. Would need "How to get to Whiston by train....for Dummies" STOCKPORT! STOCKPORT! Where the {beep} is STOCKPORT.

PS I heard a rumour there is a LUSH shop in Liverpool. Is this true. I love that shop and Chester is a bit of a trek.

BROWNY · 07/03/2006 19:29

Hiya again WMN! I don't drive either and haven't the foggiest how to get to Whiston, guess I'd have to get a train from Lime St. Station. But now for the most important question.... LUSH SHOP!!! Yes, there is one in the city centre, it's just by the entrance of Clayton Square shopping Centre, the entrance by the Disney Shop. Just a few doors away from Past Times is all those smellies... better start saving up now!Smile

workingmumnhs · 07/03/2006 19:37

Browny I LOVE YOU.

Have developed a fetish for LUSH Lip balms. DP bought me Honey Trap one on Friday and it is gorgeous.

Bath Bombs are divine, massage bars are V interesting. Will be going there on Saturday. Can arrange a meet up at Lush shop and go to the pub. I know where that is.

BROWNY · 07/03/2006 19:40

GrinWMN!!! Last time I was in there, my ds (21 months), took a bit out of the Honey I Washed The Kids soap by the door - poor little mite was frothing at the mouth!! Have you tried Helping Hands and Karma soap-oooh lovely stuff!! Now, which pub to go to????Wink

workingmumnhs · 07/03/2006 19:50

Wetherspoons. Cheap and cheerful. Went thru a phase of trying to get the most annoying bath bomb and watching DP's face go puce as he moaned about the glitter/rose petals/foam alphabet letters that were stuck to the bath.

He gets irrate so easily it is funny

BROWNY · 07/03/2006 20:06

lol!!! Well, I bought my dh a gift box for Valentine's Day!! Do you know what he did with his very large, impressive looking bath bomb? He pulled the plug on his bath, because he said it looked disgusting... it had all little black bits floating in it!! I told him he now owed me £2.95 Angry

what a waste of a perfectly good bathbomb. Has he no respect for the sanctitiy of the bubbly bath. try putting it behind your back. like a massage. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

No seriously.I'm going on Saturday. Will have children in tow tho.

biglips · 07/03/2006 21:40

well browny - i was sure about those bomb bath soaps too esp with the bits as i had to take all the bits out of the bath before i got in it!! (Strange me!!)

last time i went into the LUSH shop and i was touching nearly everything.... on the way home on train DD (17m) was sucking and licking my hands!! Grin must've of been yum yum!!

BROWNY - use the A-Z map !! Grin or Streetmap.co.uk.. Wink

im orignally from the Wirral and have only lives in Liverpool for the past 3 yrs... im still clueless about Liverpool

nemo1977 · 07/03/2006 21:52

ooooooooo Lush cant remember when I last went there. sigh I think I vaguely remember going to town last year...sometime..pmsl.

We must arrange a city centre trip for when I have some cash...oooo shops so much to buy sooo little money.

jaamy · 08/03/2006 08:10

Morning all! How is everyone today?
Bath???? What's one of those? I dream of a long luxurious fizzy sweet smelling bath WITHOUT children!!! I have so much bath stuff that I just don't get around to using. MIL bought me some fresh honey bath thingy a few years back from LUSH and it stayed in the freezer for about 2 years unused - got a lovely waft tho every time I opened the freezer door tho. LOL Think i will promise myself a bath this weekend...
Alli - my friend lives in the brand new houses off queens drive, a couple of hundred yards down from 5ways. She'd kill me if she knew I was talking about her.
Whiston...where is it? Not far from huyton if you know where that is. Whiston station is about 5 or 6 stops and 15 mins out from lime st. I live right by the station so it's very handy once you get here...just realise it might be a bit of a trek for anyone on the northern/wirral lines having to change in l'pool. Wed, Thurs or Fri lunch/pm probably best. Anyone else any preference.
Alli - we're suffering the effects of chicken pox here too tho have been trying to get out and about a bit otherwise would go stir crazy. This weather's not helping tho.

biglips · 08/03/2006 08:47

jaamy - oh thats very handy living by the station..... baba was sneezing all nite last nite so poss coming down with a cold as this little girlat the day nursery had a MASSIVE slug coming out of her nose (snot) and noone noticed... only me...i felt like getting a mop and wipe the sodding thing!! so think baba got it now plus me! with a tummy bug and sore throat and blocked nose - good excuse to stay in today Wink... so when youre thinking of having a coffee morning/afternoon?

jaamy · 08/03/2006 09:23

Oh poor you two, BL. Snuggle up on that lovely big sofa with L and have a lazy day. Hope feeling better soon.
Well...will have to wait until A is over chicken pox as not fair to spread it around or subject her to a squad of toddlers while she's feeling grotty. She's had the spots for nearly a week now and they're starting to dry up so she should be over it by next week. What does everyone say to next week? What would be best for everyone? Thurs or Fri probably best for me about 11.30-12??? Or whenever everyone can get here. Think trains from Lime st run every 30 mins and should take you about 15-20 mins from there. Anyone coming by car, Whiston is at the junction of the M57 and M62 motorways. Afraid I haven't got a clue with buses! What do you think?
Haven't told DH about all this yet BTW! Hoping he's not working from home next week!
Just thought - Thurs prob best if some are heading for the stockport meet up.

BROWNY · 08/03/2006 11:09

BL - poor you and little LSad, hope you're both better soon. I had my dd1 off school yesterday with upset stomach and pains, but she's bounced back and is in school today. It's ds1 turn to be off sick today, he's got.....wait for it....a list of symptoms, he says he's got a sore throat, sore VOICE, tummy ache, headache, and sore LEGS!! Hasn't stopped him playing ball and cars with ds2 thoughWink.

JAMMY, it's really nice of you to invite us, I'd love to come and Thursday is fine with me too, I can get the train from Lime Street, hope your little ones are better by then, if not, we'll understandSmile

nemo1977 · 08/03/2006 11:14

BL hope you dont get the bug too badly

Jaamy thurs is fine with me but will have to come after I take H for her injections which is at 11am ish if thats ok.
