What's the dress code? I was planning on wearing my best jeans as they make my legs look long and slim.

Can't actually believe it's this Saturday. Eek.

MrsFlittersnoop · 12/09/2011 22:29

We have tables booked - I spoke to the manager today to confirm numbers (about 35) etc. There is wheelchair access. Just say you are looking for the Mumsnet party when you arrive!

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 08:21

Rhubarb0 I'm much less brave nicer in the flesh!!

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 09:45

And I only do massively overdressed a bit smart!! Grin

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 09:54

Right, I'm coming but I'm going to be late..... so you will all have made friends and I'll feel like the newbie outsider

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 13/09/2011 10:01

I shall be wearing whatever I find first that is reasonably clean.

I scrub up OK but whatever I do I always look a bit skewiff.

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 10:04

Oh well I'm an evil witch in the flesh who gets very drunk and then starts slagging off anyone and everyone Wink

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 12:15

Oops, some of mine have dropped out I'm afraid. A friend who for some weird reason doesn't fancy meeting a load of strangers from a website she hasn't joined and both Tommy Tiernan and Johnny Depp are tied up. Literally. In my bedroom and I'm NOT sharing!

Tommy is busy making me laugh and Johnny, well he's busy doing something else Wink

Anyhow, I make it around 30 Mumsnetters but we haven't heard from some of them recently which means they've probably dropped out and not told us. Therefore I estimate that around 20 will actually turn up on the day.

Which means there's still room for anyone who fancies just turning up or adding their name at the last minute. Come on, you know you want to!

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 12:30

By the way, you'd never catch me blogging about Mumsnet meet-ups and then slyly linking to it on threads. Never ever.

But don't worry, I'll only name those people who disagree with me Wink

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 12:40

I like to think, after reading your blog, that having 'words' on here is simply words.....it's not about you or me or anyone else, it's about the thread, it's about all you know about someone you don't know, which is words on a thread, and so can never really be personal and long lasting, even if it felt it at the time. Smile

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 12:48

Oh gosh have we had 'words'? I think everyone has disagreements and in the past I've been quite vocal as have others. In the early days of Mumsnet this was my main worry as I would never ever remember who I might have had a ruck with and I was concerned in case they carried a grudge and confronted me at a meet-up. However it never happened I'm happy to say Smile

So that's what I mean generally. Because sometimes you can be followed on threads can't you? And I know some mumsnetters have had issues with others they've met at meet-ups. But with my memory you're quite safe. This is why I never name-change because I'd forget what I've name changed to and I'd lock myself out of Mumsnet! Grin

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 12:54

I'm not sure.....but I'm not exactly a shrinking violet and so it's not unlikely.Wink

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 13:03

Well hey, the world needs more strong opinions right? Plus I've often found that the more vocal the Mumsnetter, the nicer they are in real life Smile

Not that the quiet ones aren't nice! They're usually the stalkers Wink

Tortington · 13/09/2011 13:44

ive fell out with everyone - those who i haven't fell out with - i have offended.

my philosophy is this - unless you are having a laugh about it - to bring up a past ruck is just rude.

I would love a MN meet that was like the boards....

I have been known to start a RL conversation with AIBU?

Ever seen the real facebook sketch?

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 14:14

You offended me with that Custy. I shall be mentioning that when we meet-up and whispering behind your back now!

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 14:22

Like that Posie! Yes, that is exactly what a MN meet-up should be like!

Tortington · 13/09/2011 15:06

you just know we would be all sat on the AIBU table.

OP posts:
ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 16:06

Grin I'm not sure I know what you mean CustyWink.

So AIBU to be about an hour late?

TheRhubarb · 13/09/2011 16:31

Yes you bloody well are! And if you contradict me I'll say how you obviously haven't grasped the severity of the situation and need to leave your partner at once as there are other issues here and he is most definitely to blame.

Do you want us to save you a place? If you want, I'll PM you my mobile number so you can text when you are ready and I'll come out and meet you. Save you having to walk into a room full of people you don't know.

oldsilver · 13/09/2011 17:00

I'm still coming - in case you thought you'd hadn't heard from me in a while!! Trying to fight my way through the ether, bypass the hanging and swerve around the locking up at the moment - this is so sssssssslllllllloooooooowwwwww...

spout · 13/09/2011 17:25

I'm still in! I seem to have acquired a womb-baby since I signed up in June so shall be off the sauce

Does this mean that I'll get to be the designated Spreadsheet Monitor?

Tortington · 13/09/2011 17:34

you shall have to be known as 'upthe' haa haa

if you come to this in london you will already have met each other

ThePosieParker · 13/09/2011 19:01
