Thought I'd start a new thread for this, as the old one had got a bit rambly... The big daytime meet-up was a huge success and be lovely to get as many people as possible out... are w/c 9th or 13th May good for anyone?

Grin@ Merrylegs

Also, I haven't got a stitch to wear (different song, I know. Don't you love the fact you can have whole conversations in Smith lyrics?... or is that just me and my sad friends? Grin)

MegBusset · 03/05/2011 12:31

Yes, but you could meet somebody who really loves you?

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/05/2011 13:16

knowing me, I'd go and stand on my own, and leave on my own, and go home and cry and want to die... (should I stop now? ;) )

Fleecy · 03/05/2011 14:47

I am a six maia

Sorry about your FIL though Sad

Fimbo · 03/05/2011 16:51

Hi,
I am still to scared to come out and play. Sorry.

MegBusset · 03/05/2011 17:23

Don't be scared, Fimbo! Everyone's very nice and uber friendly, I promise :)

OP posts:
Fimbo · 03/05/2011 17:27

It's me I am worried about. I will stutter and stammer and sit coldly and aloof in the corner rocking. Grin.

Also I am too far from anyone else to get a lift and the idea of going into the city at night on my own fills me with dread. Now if you all want to come this way and go to the lovely village pub/restaurant in my village I might reconsider.....Grin

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/05/2011 17:38

Fimbo - I can't go this time, but next time hopefully I can make it - and then I can give you a lift as I have to drive past your house (probably) on the way to Norwich.

Talking of lovely village pub - which one is it and are they child friendly?

Fimbo · 03/05/2011 17:46

Ooh L is that you? Grin

If you drive across the fields from your way then you would reach me Grin. Ok its a deal then for next time. Smile

Village pub is the QH. Has a nice children menu, but will alter it to whatever you desire really, so not typical pre-packaged pasta & sauce where they can't deviate! Also a small play area outside, it is where my two learned how to come down a "fire man's pole" as it is not terrifingly big! Nice big patio area to sit out on too. It's more restaurant than pub really. You can sometimes get in without booking especially on sunny days where you can sit outside but I would suggest booking.

Fimbo · 03/05/2011 17:48

Oh and plentiful highchairs, and those booster seat things that attach to chairs. Nobody really bats an eyelid if they make noise either. My ds is fascinated by the salad bar!

thereisalightanditnevergoesout · 03/05/2011 18:08

Yes, Fimbo - tis me.

It's a deal, then.

QH sounds lovely. Glad they don't bat an eyelid at noise. Actually, I bet if you listen carefully now you can hear my lot!! Grin

Merrylegs · 03/05/2011 18:18

Actually, where are we going?! Is the tapas idea a definite? Are we doing food? Or just a drink? Would it perhaps be easier to do a pub? It is just as easy for me to drive out A47/A11 way as into the city and am happy to pick up anyone en-route (I am coming from A146).

(Fimbo you have me on FB I think, so we are not really strangers.... OTBC!)

Also. Also. Can I just throw this into the mix. The second episode of the Apprentice is on at 9pm on that Wednesday. I have catch-up, but just saying...

MissMcGeek · 03/05/2011 20:50

Really sorry i can't make the next meet. I will have to wait until next time but still looking forward to meeting the fellow locals :) Long Stratton can feel very distant sometimes!

OnlyWantsOne · 03/05/2011 21:01

Hmmmm I reaLly want to come.

FirmBottom · 04/05/2011 10:58

I would love to come, but my DS was born last Tuesday, and I can't really leave him yet. Looking forward to meeting you all on the next meet up tho.

Fimbo · 04/05/2011 11:04

Oh congratulations Firmbottom! Grin

Fimbo · 04/05/2011 11:04

Ha ha Merrylegs OTBC indeed! Grin

MegBusset · 06/05/2011 12:39

OK so shall we get this nailed then? Is tapas OK with everyone? I'm quite happy with a pub if that's preferable but will definitely need feeding!

Lovethesea · 06/05/2011 13:07

I am happy with food at pub or tapas. Just need to be able to pay my food/drink/tip rather than divide the whole bill (eg by 10 people) - we're in the process of buying a house after relocating 400 miles so money is, ummm, sparse!?! I can get to Hethersett or the city centre easily.

RainbowShite · 06/05/2011 14:06

Which tapas bar?

MegBusset · 06/05/2011 21:41

Think 4MadBoys mentioned one on St Benedicts?

OP posts:
RainbowShite · 06/05/2011 22:32

The one on magdalen st is good too

Merrylegs · 06/05/2011 22:51

Whatever whatever for me. What time? We are pretty useless at making a decision aren't we Grin.

bobblehat · 06/05/2011 22:58

Thanks fro PMing me meg, felt really popular when I came back on here after a couple of weeks away!!!

I can't really do evening meetups (ok, I'm a little bit scared of going into the big city at night, mainly cos I feel so old!!) but I'll keep my eyes peeled for another daytime one and I may show my face if I'm feeling brave enough!

bobblehat · 06/05/2011 22:59

Also meant to say I hope you all have a fab time!
