I don't imagine anyone will be driving ... but the trains are great and go on until late.

I'm hoping for a bit of company on the way home.

St Ann's Wells Park has a posh new cafe.
Custy you could bring a bottle in a brown paper bag.

Do you normally meet with or without the kids?

MABS · 12/10/2005 23:25

just tell me when and I'll be there but cr*p mother that i am , I'll try and ditch the kids!!

Tortington · 13/10/2005 00:43

will see how the details pan out. I am not sure my 15 and 2 x 12 year olds will enjoy smaller children.

Tortington · 13/10/2005 01:00

oh and if its during the week am out cos at work

what kind of a xmas meet is in the park anyway?

desperatehousewife · 13/10/2005 09:44

come on custy where's your imagination. We could all dress as santa (or santas helpers) we could bring mulled wine hidden in brown bags as Spidermama says, we could have a good old christmas sing song...?

I wasn't actually envisaging it being a xmas meet up, just a meet up before xmas.

sunnydelight · 13/10/2005 20:25

Haven't been to St. Anne's Wells Gardens for years Spidermama - it was my closest park when DS1 was born (many years ago!) and we didn't have a garden so I spent many hours there. Personally I'd prefer to meet without kids, but I guess other people's are ok

MABS · 13/10/2005 21:24

you lot sort it and i'll try and come. Can't do 1st w/e in Nov coz i'll be in Dubai but apart from that diary's fine.

desperatehousewife · 14/10/2005 08:56

you are just so jet set mabs. First w/e in Nov i might be in bognor!

MABS · 14/10/2005 11:08

actually DHW - i'm terrified!! It's the first time in 11 yrs that dh and I will go away without the kids. God, we might have to actually talk!!

sunnydelight · 14/10/2005 19:21

DH and I went diving (without child) for two weeks when DS1 was ten months old - probably a stoning offence around here!!! Have fun.

desperatehousewife · 14/10/2005 19:25

oh mabs, that is Soooooo exciting! Dust off your best lingerie!!

MABS · 14/10/2005 21:36

not funny dhw , i'm worried about the talkin let alone that...!!

desperatehousewife · 14/10/2005 21:43

come on...it'll be great! Do an agenda, so you have things to talk about. Or take your wedding photos as a surprise so you can reminiss!

Any ideas for me - need a xmas short break, abroad, in the snow preferably....?

Cam · 14/10/2005 21:45

Mabs, you will have a fab time, no need to talk, just enjoy the silence away from the kids!!

DHW should you be fannying about on snow in your condition?

MABS · 17/10/2005 18:45

how about Sweden or Iceland DHW , but I love Switzerland too?

desperatehousewife · 17/10/2005 19:00

cam - not thinking about fannying about on snow as you so beautifully put it!! I don't ski and never plan to, just think snow would be so exciting for DHW-junior!

Realised anyway to my distress that I'm not going to be able to fly by then anyway, so scrap that idea. Humph!

MABS · 17/10/2005 20:38

you'll have to have a great hol after you've had the babe then DHW..

Cam · 17/10/2005 21:13

Sorry to be so base DHW, I just don't want you to slip and fall in your delicate condition!

We're off to Disneyland Paris pre-Christmas where even if there's no real snow there will be fake snow - and you don't have to fly to get there

desperatehousewife · 17/10/2005 21:26

No, no and thrice no! I shall NEVER set foot in Disneyland of any description - I don't care what you say Cam! I am happy to sign a declaration!!!! he he he!

Cam · 18/10/2005 19:01

Yeah yeah DHW, I remember your anti-disney stance last time we met

BUT what are you going to to when your gorgeous ds (and he is!) tells you that everyone else in his class has been except him (and that'll be when he's 4, 5, 6 etc etc)

AND you'll have the sibling joining in too!
Believe me you will eat your words and the signed declaration

desperatehousewife · 19/10/2005 10:24

Nope, over my dead body! I survivied as a child without it, so did DH. There will be certain things in life he'll just have to accept he can't have even if everyone else has it - get over it kid i'll say!

!

Cam · 19/10/2005 19:52

Peer pressure is biiiiig and I mean on you not ds

I'll remind you of this conversation in a couple of years

And remember Ashford International (for the Disneyland Express) is so near........

We're actually driving this time because I'm taking dd to see the palace of Versailles first - got to get that high culture in before letting rip on the low

Anyway we're staying in the Pink turreted hotel - it has a classy marble swimming pool and fab French restaurant - hardly slumming it - aren't you just a teensy weensy bit ?

Dannie · 19/10/2005 20:11

If predictions of ultra-cold winter are true you'll need your woolly undies for the roller coasters. So are you having a Brighton pre-Xmas meet-up (that I can pull out of at the last minute as usual) or what?

desperatehousewife · 20/10/2005 09:59

no cam!

noddyholder · 20/10/2005 10:25

Have also managed to avoid it DHW but did succumb to centerparcs!I don't know which is worse
