I don't imagine anyone will be driving ... but the trains are great and go on until late.

I'm hoping for a bit of company on the way home.

Hello Spider not sure if I will be coming home or staying over Had thought about booking a hotel but looking at dp's rota I'm not sure what's going to be easier Will know next week though so will keep you posted Do you live in Brighton then?

spidermama · 29/09/2005 10:59

Yes Noddy. Although a hotel is a tempting idea, I have to get home for 7 month old.

If I am going by train I will def travel back with you.Have you been to any of the meet ups yet?It is great fun and the Brighton crew are all lovely

starlover · 29/09/2005 11:04

there are some people on the christmas meet thread who are booking a hotel. I think it's £25 if you wanna share a quad room, or £35 for a twin

spidermama · 29/09/2005 15:51

I think I'd be stretching dh's patience if I were to stay over.

No noddy I haven't been to a meet up yet. I find the idea a bit scarey tbh. Perhaps this will be a baptism of fire.

Look forward to meeting you all anyway.

i have put my name down but dunno if i really wanna go! lol

spidermama · 29/09/2005 20:15

Bwaaaack bwak bwak bwak bwaaaaack!

I know what you mean starlover. I keep scanning the guest list and thinking, 'Hmmm. We've had cross words in the past. And I know for a fact that one disapproves of me.'

That said though I think it'll be a total blast and if I don't go I'll feel very jealous of those who did.

oh yeah there will be SO many people there that you can easily avoid the ones you clash with on here!

i think it harks back to school and stuff... being scared of being in a room full of people i don't know.

i have met up with noddyholder, pinkmama and desperatehousewife in brighton
and also lockets... so at least i'll kinda know some people i guess!

starlover · 29/09/2005 20:32

btw, i will get the train up and back... from 3 bridges probably

Tortington · 29/09/2005 21:56

noddyholder can you confirm your coming and see new cheque send off to mumsnet thingies on the xmas meet up thread - ta hunny xxxx

Tortington · 29/09/2005 21:57

am getting train up but not coming back same night, sorry spidermamma

spidermama · 29/09/2005 22:07

No worries custy. I'm a big girl. I guess I can get the train back on my own. It's just that it has been a few years since I've sat alone, drunk, post party on a train. I'll have to remember to bring a 'Wake Me Up At Preston Park' sign to put around my neck before I drift off.

Tortington · 29/09/2005 22:15

set your alarm on your moby - i know your prolly joking but i always either fall off a train ontot he platform or miss my stop in drunken stupor - or get partner or someone to ring you to wake you up. eek.

starlover · 01/10/2005 16:37

a friend of mine ended up very far up north once when he fell asleep drunkenly on train. he had no idea where he was

spidermama... i'll be with you til crawley! or brighton if we both fall asleep!

Spidermama - have you just moved to B'ton? Why haven't you been to any of our B'ton meetups ??(she said with hands on hip) we have lovely meet ups, which are always really calm and sweet and well behaved...right up until the point when I leave and everyone lets their hair down and gets mullered!
