So here we are! Over 160 of us signed up!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to enter your first weight

If you aren't on the list for any reason, just go to the bottom of the list and add your name - the lovely Willie will sort out the alphabetisation later.

From experience of previous Bootcamps, the chat thread can move very quickly! So, if you have a specific or particular question, please post it on the questions thread I will do my best to check it as often as I can, as will other seasoned Bootcampers.

If you have a really burning issue, please feel free to PM me and I will do my very best to help you as soon as possible.

And if you're looking for inspiration for things to cook, here's the recipe thread

Here is a brief reminder of the rules:

We do not eat any of the following during Bootcamp:

bread
rice
pasta/noodles
potatoes
flour
pastry
sugar
chocolate/sweets
biscuits/cookies
crisps

And here are the ten rules of Bootcamp:

  1. You must eat breakfast.
  2. Avoid processed food
  3. Eat lots of fat
  4. Make sure you are eating vegetables and salads with your food
  5. Be careful about dairy (apart from butter, which is unlimited)
  6. You must drink a minimum of 2 litres of water per day
  7. No alcohol
  8. No fruit
  9. No nuts/seeds
10. No sugar or artificial sweeteners

More detail/explanation of these rules is on the spreadsheet ? look at the tabs at the bottom.

One final word from me ? the disclaimer! I am not a doctor, a scientist, a dietician nor a nutritionist. The advice that is given here is based on my own experience of low carbing, as well as the reading I have been doing over the last few years.

If you have a medical condition, or you are taking long term medication, please take advice from your GP/consultant before starting to low carb.

Good luck everyone!

Just looked at my books and its October when celeriac usually comes into season as its a cold weather root so Secondsop did very well to get one in her veg box! Grin

holmessweetholmes · 13/09/2013 16:44

Happy birthday Daisy! It's dh's birthday today too. We are going out for dinner tonight, so that is going to be a challenge on the lc front! Hopefully the food will be fine but I shall find it hard to resist the wine...

HighJinx · 13/09/2013 17:14

Happy birthday daisychicken Flowers

Have a lovely low carb day!

HighJinx · 13/09/2013 17:17

I just found some sausages at a local deli/butchers with 0.7g carbs per 100g. I may have whooped out loud when I read the packet Blush

MsIngaFewmarbles · 13/09/2013 17:20

Ok I know it's just weird scales stuff but mine are saying that I've put on 4lb overnight :(

On the plus side I have lost 4cm from my waist and 5cm from my tummy since Monday :)

BerylStreep · 13/09/2013 17:22

Afternoon all! What a fast moving thread!

Had a gorgeous breakfast this morning from the canteen at work. 2 poached eggs in a cup with a portion of butter, all mixed up. Delish! £1.00

Mouseface · 13/09/2013 17:30

Wine Cake Thanks HAPPY BIRTHDAY daisychicken Thanks Cake Wine

Hmm, the only things you can have from my presents above are the flowers, sorry daisy - I didn't think until I was about to press post!

Thanks SORRY! xx

HighJinx · 13/09/2013 17:32

I was the same mouseface - I thought the wrong emoticons could set of carb cravings Grin

Purple2012 · 13/09/2013 17:47

So far so good. No diet coke and I have managed without painkillers! Have had 3 litres of water though.

I went to Holland and Barrett and got some rooibos tea. I've seen it mentioned on here so guessing it's ok to have. Going to try it in a minute. Also got soya flour so making courgette fritters using corgettes from mum and dads garden. Will have that with spinach (wilted then add butter) and chicken breast stuffed with cream cheese and spinach wrapped in bacon. Wish me luck on the bacon. First time in 25 years of eating it and i'm a bit nervous.

MrsSnuffleupagus · 13/09/2013 17:52

Evening all Smile and Happy Birthday daisychicken! Thanks Thanks

So it would appear that I may be the only person here able to get hold of celeriac- both my local Sainsburys and Morrisons have been selling it this week Grin

I'm very proud of myself today, I have managed to resist the kids Friday treat of pizza and chips (normally I'd be pinching off of their plates Blush) ....now I just have to resist all of the yummy food and cake at my dd's birthday party tomorrow..
.

MrsSnuffleupagus · 13/09/2013 17:54

well done on the diet coke Purple and good luck with the bacon, you're doing amazingly well considering you haven't eaten meat in such a long time Smile

Roobot · 13/09/2013 18:08

I got celeriac in sainsbo's too. And then one in my veg box! I will be celeriac'd out by the end of this week!

MrsSnuffleupagus · 13/09/2013 18:15

maybe its a regional thing Roobot? I'm in Hampshire, maybe we have all the celeriac here Grin

loopyloou · 13/09/2013 18:16

Happy birthday Daisychicken!! Thanks

Feeling proud of myself. Went to a cafe in my lunch break and just had peppermint tea. Also was offered a chocolate at work and turned it down Smile

B: egg mayo with sausage
L: tuna mayo with raw spinach and cucumber and HM dressing and olives
D: baked salmon with HM mayo with left over swede fried in butter and broccoli and cauliflower
S: 3 slices of salami and a bag of pork scratchings

loopyloou · 13/09/2013 18:17

Well done with the diet coke Purple Smile

CiderwithBuda · 13/09/2013 18:22

I have been trying to catch up on this thread all day!! It moves so fast and I get a couple of posts read and then have to stop. But caught up now.

I got celeriac too today in Sainsburys. In Taunton if anyone is close by!

I forgot to get cauliflower though and am kicking myself as Dh is doing a curry.

Justasmallgless - to answer your question way up thread - no periods due to menopause. I have LC'd before with no effect. Stomach is just fat! Althgh less fat today.

Well done on th diet coke Purple. You will feel so much better for it. And they say cravings go in three days. So you are a third of the way there.
Good luck with the bacon too!

Large portion of curry without rice or cauliflower here. Resisting the alcohol too.

Not been great on the water so trying to make up for it now,

And finally - Happy Birthday Daisy!

whodunnit · 13/09/2013 18:23

Quick help .....my tea's cooking how much celeriac is allowed? 2 fat slices? less?

whodunnit · 13/09/2013 18:25

it's starting to burn now......

aftermay · 13/09/2013 18:28

Happy birthday, Daisy.

Cauliflower - I bought two today. Used a few florets in a salad. What else can I do with the rest? I read somewhere about mash, like potatoes.

Roobot · 13/09/2013 18:59

MrsSnuff... in Gloucestershire, perhaps we are steqling the hampshire celeriac supply Grin
AfterMay, we use it as a mash replacement sometime even life before LC. We always blended it though, get a good consistency that way! Some buttet, bit of cheese and wang in the blender. Goes really well with salmon!

Purple2012 · 13/09/2013 19:05

I failed with the bacon. I couldn't even eat the chicken. I think it was just too big and the bacon put me off. Im very disappointed. The courgette fritter was nice though. I have had to have some yoghurt with vanilla instead of the chicken. I tried the rooibos tea. I couldn't drink all of it but I think its something I can get used to.

Still no diet coke though!

bulletwithbutterflywings · 13/09/2013 19:09

whodunnit I usually cook half s large celeriac for me and DP. Its very low carb I think so eat as much as you fancy.

bulletwithbutterflywings · 13/09/2013 19:11

Maybe not! 9 or 10 grams per 100!

bulletwithbutterflywings · 13/09/2013 19:18

Oh I don't know. I've seen 9g, 10g, 1g,2.3g and 4-9g on different carb counters now!

halfthesize · 13/09/2013 19:45
