Morning all!

Already seen great results from @KellyonaHeli and @Almahart - really well done!

Spreadsheet for its final outing:

Just because it's the end of this Bootcamp doesn't mean we have to stop chatting - and many of you have talked about doing Ubercamp as well, and I look forward to hearing how that goes.

In total on 3 days of ubercamp I put on 1lb. Back to normal bootcamp lite from today to hopefully get rid of it again.

Almahart · 05/03/2026 18:14

Oh no @KellyOnAHeli! I hope it shifts quickly. I must admit I haven't been strict ubercamping but am slowly shedding the 4ibs I put on after my unwise weekend.

Castlerigg · 06/03/2026 06:53

I went to my first ever spin class yesterday, it was good! I will probably try and go regularly, it’s included with the price of my gym membership, so it doesn’t cost me any extra to go. And I’m another pound lighter this morning!

SemmaLina · 06/03/2026 09:23

I’m doing badly
All I want is toast and an apple , I don’t even like apples
I think it’s just the crunch I’m missing

Anyway , trying to be sensible , a large glass of water on the go , missed breakfast ( as all I wanted was toast )
Big salad planned for lunch , going for a long walk this afternoon , chicken thighs and tons of veg planned for dinner

7 weeks til we go on holiday , would like to lose another 4 lb or so , which would bring me into the 10 stone somethings

CointreauVersial · 06/03/2026 14:44

@SemmaLina if you want crunch I've just made this high protein chicken & cucumber salad that appeared on my Instagram feed. Divine!

SemmaLina · 06/03/2026 19:03

Thanks @CointreauVersial
I’m feeling a bit better now , had a good day in the end
I think hayfever has kicked in early , which gives me a very scratchy throat ( hence wanting toast ) so I’ve had an antihistamine ,which knoocked me out for an hour this afternoon ,I still have puffy eyes but I’ll survive 😪

Almahart · 07/03/2026 09:07

Back on track weight wise now. I treated myself to a crumble made with ground almonds, erithyrol, butter as a topping to frozen berries and served with extra thick cream. It was amazing!!

venusandmars · 07/03/2026 16:31

I confess. I ate a bacon roll this morning following a hospital appointment (nothing serious but will have a minor op under local anaesthetic in the next few weeks). A mixture of anxiety and relief and walking past a deli with the aroma of sizzling bacon wafting out. Had dinner out at our local Italian restaurant last night and had fantastic sea bass and broccoli, was with our neighbours who are in their 80's and have small appetites so there was no tempation to have carb-laden starters. Phew!

Steak for dinner tonight with mushrooms, tomato, mange tout, psb and a blue cheese and cream sauce.

Goodiewhemper · 08/03/2026 07:30

Hi everyone. Well done on all the losses. This BC didn't quite turn out the way I planned. I was two weeks late starting and then a couple of weeks in, I had a little health concern that meant hospital and tests so I lost my momentum and fell completely off the thread. It is hard to keep lowcarbing when so many other factors are outside your control. My carb intake is still on the low side but not BC low 😞. I am still waiting on results but am feeling so much better and optimistic that all is ok. Once I get my all clear I think a few days of ubercamp will help with a bit of a reset. The plan today is to stick to low carb and I have a lovely roast of beef ready for the oven later which will be served with green beans and celeriac.

Have a great day everyone.

KellyOnAHeli · 08/03/2026 12:06

I’m feeling a bit frustrated as I seem to have hit a plateau. I know that’s completely normal and will always happen some of the time, but it’s also annoying as I’ve been an absolute saint this week. Everything made from scratch, lots of different veg, nothing UPF. Drank a ton of water. I’ve even exercised.

I know the results will show eventually. In the meantime I’m happy in the knowledge that I’m eating nutritiously and that alone is really good for my health (but would be even happier if that was reflected on the scales!!!).

I’ve been lazy about tracking on MFP since I came back from holiday, which I find really helps me meal plan, shop for the right ingredients, ensure I keep my portion sizes in check, make sure my macros are where they ought to be etc. I’ve started doing that again the last couple days and have got my week mapped out. I’m away for work a couple of days and planning ahead means I’ve got stuff prepped to take with me so I’m not at the mercy of whatever’s on offer at Kings Cross station.

so overall, feeling in control and prepared for the week ahead and crossing everything that I get rewarded on the scales.

venusandmars · 08/03/2026 19:49

@KellyOnAHeli I've always found planning ahead is the most useful approach. Choosing things in advance from a restaurant menu (so I'm not tempted by the other stuff), or taking lchf snacks with me to events so I'm not facing a carb-laden buffet feeling ravenous. Shopping for the right kind of items, having some in store for when you need them.

Today I had a chia pudding with ffgy, some defrosted berries, and a mix of seeds and nuts. Then lunch was bacon, eggs, fried mushrooms. Was a bit stuck for dinner, but had this thai chicken bone broth pouch in the freezer. Expensive, but delicious. I added extra water and a squeeze of lime juice. Plus broccoli, mange tout, baby corn and cooked chicken thigh. Noodles too for dh. It felt filling and nutritious. Probably a bit low on fat but I think the rest of my day's food will balance out OK.

Organic Thai Chicken Broth with Chilli & Lemongrass

We make this high protein, nourishing hot and sour soup with our nutritious chicken bone broth, seasonal greens, perfectly balanced aromatic herbs, lemongrass and red chilli. Perfect with a squeeze of fresh lime.

Almahart · 11/03/2026 10:38

I'm

Almahart · 11/03/2026 10:39

I'm still here. Keep losing and regaining the same couple of pounds but am.determined to keep going to my target weight. 8ibs to go. I know from previous BC that once in the zone that weight can shift really quickly, so will koko

SemmaLina · 12/03/2026 08:51

Still here too , losing and gaining the same two pounds like you @Almahart
I only want to lose another 3 ( or 5 ! ) pounds , but I’m now finding low carbing tricky , but will persevere
Had planned a lovely salad for lunch , but it’s pouring down
My left over salmon may well be served with spinach and mushrooms and not baby leaves and avocado

venusandmars · 12/03/2026 10:05

Dissgusting, cold, wet, windy weather here too. Tonight we're having an early dinner out before going to a comedy show, so I'll have a brunch of left over veg in ham and cheese and omelette.

I'm going on holiday in 6 weeks so that's my motivation to stay on the lchf bandwagon.

SprinklesofRain · 12/03/2026 11:25

I’ve fallen completely off the wagon since my stomach upset last week, literally the only thing I want to eat is toast and marmite. I am eating other stuff but cannot face anything high fat or strongly flavoured at the moment, just makes my stomach turn, not managing a lot of protein foods either just small amounts of meat and fish here and there, even cottage cheese which I normally love seems bleugh.

Almahart · 12/03/2026 12:30

Awful weather. Have you tried any of the low carb breads @sprimklesifrain?ivr found them really helpful this bc

Almahart · 12/03/2026 13:13

Sorry for some reason I can't actually see the text box when I. Typing in the app, so don't catch typos. Don't know why, it's not happened before

SemmaLina · 13/03/2026 06:39

I’m off on holiday in 6 weeks or so too @venusandmars ( no pressure ! ) we’re off to Scandinavia, I don’t think it’s going to be swimsuit weather
As the weather yesterday was so awful , I went through the wardrobe and tried on a few bits , I think I need some trousers , comfy sightseeing gear , I was hoping it would be summer dress weather , but having googled the average temperature is 10°c , some new trainers for walking about in and some actual shoes for the evening ( going on a cruise , and there’s 3 formal nights , which means my almost vintage posh frocks are going to get an outing )
Need to go shopping today , a lot of green veg needed

Castlerigg · 13/03/2026 08:07

I’m away this weekend so am not being strict, but will do my best, no idea what’s going to be available. I’m pleased with my loss so far though, and will be ready to crack down again when I get back.

venusandmars · 13/03/2026 08:15

@SprinklesofRain you poor thing. I think when you've been unwell, your first priority is getting back to balanced health. So if toast and marmite is all you can face, then go with it. It is likely that your gut biome has been disrupted so introducing small amounts of gut friendly foods - kefir, pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi, fermeneted soy (e.g. miso), kombucha. Vegetables such as asparagus, leek, leafy greens, and a few oats of chickpeas. Bone broth soup. (Apologies if mentioning these foods makes you feel worse). If you're enjoying the savoury taste of marmite, how about white miso paste, or miso soup with a few veg? Or some hummus?

We went to visit a 93 year old aunt yesterday. She'd made some tiny egg mayo sandwiches and bought some cakes and biscuits. I had 2 of the tiny sandwiches (I estimated that would be less than half a slice of bread), and half a small slice of lemon cake. Sometimes it's more important to recognise the effort that people have gone to. And fortunately dh has a big appetite and hoovered up everything else.

Sunnysideuptoday · 13/03/2026 08:22

Hi all I’m still here too trying to KOKO. Sounds like there are some fab holidays on the way. I’m suffering from bread cravings so am going to buy the low carb variety. Also I’m finding that I’m craving meat! Roasted meat. Very strange. My body is obviously telling me something. Weight hasn’t moved up or down. I’ve got the spreadsheet on my phone now so I’m going to do some serious meal planning this weekend. KOKO everyone

venusandmars · 13/03/2026 08:22

@Castlerigg for me this has to be a way of eating and a way of life for the long term, not a short term yo-yo diet. That means dealing all the events and occasions in life, not by bingeing and falling of the wagon but by relaxing into those situations while doing the best we can and eating around the most obvious culprits. Opting for gin and soda rather than a sticky sweet cocktail; having a breakfast that includes eggs, bacon, fried tomato rather than chocolate crossants. Opting for a starter and a main rather than a main and dessert. Enjoy your weekend.

SprinklesofRain · 13/03/2026 09:02

Thanks all re stomach upset, two in two weeks has been quite a shock, it’s been years since I last had one. I have tried some of the low carb breads but they don’t toast very well. I have been having sourdough so at least that’s fermented and it’s very filling so I don’t eat as much as I would say white sliced. My weight has stayed put too so not all bad. I have been having FFGY, which is also fermented, not sure if I’m ready for the properly strong things like kimchi but I will stick some kombucha in my trolley next time I’m out. Have been eating salad and veg, but unable to stomach oil or dressings in any great quantities (can’t stomach butter on veg even at normal times) so a bit low on fat, I haven’t fancied fatty cuts of meat either although I did nibble a bit of pork belly that DH cooked the other night. I am going to look at it as a wobble not a case of the fuckits and gently steer myself back off the carbs.

SemmaLina · 13/03/2026 22:16

@SprinklesofRain I rarely get stomach upsets 🤞but last time I did , I could barely look at food and could only eat ryvita dark crisp breads for a couple of days , and then quite enjoyed only having a tiny appetite for a few days
Sadly , the tiny appetite didn’t last long
Just keep the fluids going in and eat what you fancy ( in reason , not suggesting you go in full Mars bar )
Hoping you feel 100% soon
