Morning all! Spreadsheet as per:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gsWvWpGzTSJld1avBi9-uLJveFZes9Qa2ORKthPMl8E/edit?gid=1415293539#gid=1415293539

Very glad to see that there are some great results already! Flowers
On the last thread, there was mention of pulled pork - there’s a really good recipe in one of the Fast 800 books, which I shall search out. I may already have posted it in one of the recipe threads, so I’ll check that too.

Thanks BIWI and for the coleslaw recipe too.
happy with my weight today.

RightTurnClyde · 12/01/2026 13:10

We have a non-LC lasagne from the freezer this evening but I'm just going to donate my pasta layers to DH (and eat only the mince bit). I have leftover spinach cream in the fridge that I'll have instead, plus lots of grated cheese on top, and hopefully overall that will be enough for me to avoid the big stick!

Ninarina · 12/01/2026 13:47

Ooh love that coleslaw recipe @BIWI
Going to attempt homemade mayo for it

I tried spinach and egg blended to make a wrap but it didnt turn out -poss needed to use a bigger frying pan
Tasted okay tho
I had it with some smoked salmon and rocket

kiwiane · 12/01/2026 14:01

I’ve spent the last week looking for almond flour to make an alternative bread; I’ve given up and bought gram flour instead today.

cathyandclaire · 12/01/2026 14:02

Well done all you losers! Excellent work- far better than me. I've been largely missing in action on the thread due to some life challenges but have been keeping to bootcamp ( apart from too much milk).
I'm 1.5lb down which I think is ok because I started 3 days before BC so had already flushed away 2lb of bloat.

I've eaten so many eggs- crustless quiche with roasted veg and Xmas ham.
cheese and spinach souffle
Biwi's asp and Parmesan frittata
I also adapted the Dishoom broccoli salad and had it with no sugar or dates- it was lovely!

Good luck all and thanks for all the recipes and ideas!

Updated for you @zobalina77 - brilliant!

Thank you for updating the spreadsheet for me.

mumsandaunties · 12/01/2026 14:13

Thanks for the coleslaw recipe @BIWI. That’s exactly what I feel like. Can I ask what the logic of only using the fine grater for the carrot is? Bit of mind over matter maybe?

CointreauVersial · 12/01/2026 14:13

@BIWI I make my own coleslaw too, but my usual recipe has grated apple in, so I've had to amend it slightly. And I quite like an "Asian Slaw", if I'm feeling fancy.

Are you sure you are looking for the right thing - it's also sold as ground almonds, and is usually in every supermarket.

Grounds almonds is about 5 or 6g carb per 100g. Gram flour is made from chickpeas and is about 55g carb per 100g

venusandmars · 12/01/2026 14:38

Well done everyone - some great losses showing on the spreadsheet, unfortunately not so much for me. Was at friends for dinner yesterday, the food was mostly OK - smoked fish and cheese souffle to start, beef bourguignon and veg (swerved the mashed parsnip) and stuck to one glass of wine. But then there was cheese and port Blush So only 0.8lb off - was more during the week but I put this morning's weight and hope for a better result next week.

I get a veg box delivered on a Tuesday so can't really do my meal plan until then. Tonight is some cooked pork mince with veg from the freezer - will have it in lettuce wraps following BIWI's suggestion.

BIWI · 12/01/2026 14:58

@kiwiane as PP have said, you need ground almonds. BUT NOT YET! Nuts not allowed in weeks 1 and 2. And gram flour is definitely not allowed - on Bootcamp at all!

It just stretches it a bit further.

Today is the first day I've struggled mentally! It's my day off today and I'm at home on my own so I think that has given me more time to think about carbs, I think it's a psychological craving rather than an actual craving so I haven't caved. Had an on off headache too which hasn't helped - I've been drinking lots and had electrolytes.

Anyway I'm just having a snack of HB eggs and dinner is courgette with mushrooms and cottage cheese & mozzarella. Staying strong!

SavoySteam · 12/01/2026 17:43

Well done everyone. I'm 2lb down, which is a surprise taking into consideration that my gut decided to keep almost the whole week's food in. This week I need to really up my water intake and look into low carb fibre source.

BIWI · 12/01/2026 18:51

look into low carb fibre source.

I assume you’re getting your carbs from plenty of veg and salad? That, plus the water, should really help you.

Evening all...4.5 lbs down for me, I'm really pleased, especially with two child free nights and children and ex husband stretching my patience, no booze still.

Thanks for the pulled pork recipe, that's what I'm doing this week, will get the ingredients tomorrow.

I need to be food shop planning but I'm having a very down day and really am not in the mood.

Food today was leftover curry, had too many carbs I think though but it's all gone now, I only had a few spoonfuls. Break snack was a peperrami...well, aldi tiny version, really didn't he have time for anything else, had a total of 30 mins break all day from teaching.

Dinner was sausages, cauli cheese and leeks. Was good, didn't miss the mash.

SemmaLina · 12/01/2026 19:50

I made last nights leftover roast shoulder of pork into pulled pork , adapting the recipe @BIWI posted earlier ( didn’t have an orange , satsuma was a good substitute
Very good ✅ dinner tonight ( much nicer than plain old roast )

RightTurnClyde · 12/01/2026 19:55

Happy to report that spinach cream keeps really well in the fridge. It was possibly even nicer than it was on Saturday.

poorbuthappy · 12/01/2026 20:16

Checking in. 5lb down! Best start ever.
Had pulled pork yesterday and today.
Nect challenge is 3 days out of the house so have to be prepped.
Salad tomorrow
cauli cheese (again I love it) wed and thurs

NoMoreLindor · 12/01/2026 20:34

Not a bad start. Thanks for the new thread @BIWI

DryWhiteagainW · 12/01/2026 21:28

Turkey meatballs with ratatouille tonight . Yum.

InMyLowCarbEra · 12/01/2026 21:44

Random dinner of leftovers - roasted veg made into an omelette with a scrap of cauliflower cheese plus tzatziki and pickled cabbage. It was actually really good. Terrible day with water as I forgot my water bottle. Tried really hard to drink cups of water but they are tiny and the water fountain miles away 🙁

ACrackerAQuackerAndADanishCharm · 12/01/2026 22:00

Hello @BIWI and all! I'm the prodigal bootcamper, returning every couple of years or so, heheh. Hope it's okay to join in now.

Thank you as always for the hard work you do running these threads and herding the cats, @BIWI. 💐

I've lost 11 lbs in the past couple of months without really meaning to which was a nice surprise. I think that's mainly to do with calming my nervous system and working on regulating my stress levels after 5 or 6 really difficult years and peri-menopause on top of it all.

I am returning to the low carb lifestyle (again) for health reasons as I'm T2 diabetic and I really need to get things under control.

I'm not going to be on the spreadsheet because I don't want to weigh throughout since weight isn't my main concern (although it'd be very nice to end up a size smaller!) but my starting weight is 154 lbs.

Congrats to all of you on your losses so far and hopefully more this week!💐
