Summer 25 HFLC Boot Camp: Week 2

Good Morning Campers or it will be by the time most of you are reading this Wink

Here we are at Week 2 Shock This is my favourite week: the one where people (usually) see the biggest results. But if you haven’t, don’t despair. As long as you follow The Rules, the results will come Grin

It really helps that everyone - from newbies to experienced Boot Campers - is sharing their experiences, both the successes and the slip ups . You are all stars . I haven’t had to get the Big Stick out much as people have usually recognised what happened and worked out strategies for future challenges.

The link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hlJKScntZ78g7eAkaR7hF_uiL0t3WGumIFvHvDAvfJI/edit?usp=

I know some have already put in their weigh-in results. It is always really heartening to see the Week 1 whooshes.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition . We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

That’s also why we encourage taking measurements - usually if the scales aren’t moving, then the inches are! downwards of course Wink

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Smile

The Rules are still the same: you can find them on the OP of the Week 1 thread and also in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

Morning all!
I jumped on the scales this morning for the first time in a long time (as was feeling a bit portly) and I’m 158.8 lbs. So a good 9lbs over my ticking along weight. I thought I’d see if there was a bootcamp starting up soon. I’m a week behind but I’ll catch up! Could you add me to the spreadsheet please? Thank you!

prettybird · 11/08/2025 08:44

Welcome back @NotDonnaFlowers

I’m sure the lovely spreadsheet monitor @FinallyHerewill oblige Smile

Hi everyone, and thanks to @prettybird for the thread.
I've been fat for most of my life, but 7 years ago I lost a whopping 4 stone on bootcamp light.
Life just got complicated, fell off the wagon, and yesterday's realisation that I've gone up 3 dress sizes and put nearly 3 stone back on felt like I'd been punched in the gut, and tbh I'm feeling very depressed.
Hoping I can keep up with the thread, I've tried before but they can be very fast paced and busy, but I'll try my hardest!
Will try to add myself on the spreadsheet when I'm on my laptop later.

FinallyHere · 11/08/2025 09:25

Welcome back @NotDonna Added you xx

Perimenofullhalt · 11/08/2025 10:05

Please can I make up a hat trick of late joiners?

I'm a previous boot camper (and hugely grateful to @biwiand all the marvellous bootcampers) but recently have been finding it difficult to stay on the wagon consistently. Now 10kg over my ideal weight. Over the last 12 months I've lost and regained the same 4kg Hmm

Fresh attempt starts today!

NotDonna · 11/08/2025 11:38

I’ve just searched my pre-boot camp weight from October 2022 where I started at 165 and lost 11lbs in the 8 weeks. I’m on hols end of September so I’ll be chuffed to bits if I can lose 11lbs again and get to 148!
My eldest has just suggested I do some strength training too. I’m 56 and everything is going south. I’m also finding my skin is going crepey / saggy so maybe that’ll help. I also need to find a VERY good body moisturiser!!

averywittyusername · 11/08/2025 11:49

4 lbs off & feeling great. Thanks so much for starting this initiative @prettybird @FinallyHere I am so focused. Giving up the (small) nightly drinking has been easier than I expected, as I'm determined to follow The Rules 😁👍

averywittyusername · 11/08/2025 11:53

NotDonna, I'm planning to add more strength training too. I do classes like yoga & body tone when I can, but am going to do more at home so no excuses re time. A moisturiser with a lovely scent is my new go-to treat.

lastchancesalmon · 11/08/2025 12:04

Last week was a bit of a disaster 😬. I really couldn’t get my head in the game at all, had too much going on at home and then spiralled. No loss (in fact 1lb on!) However, I’ve decided not to give up and disappear but to try again.

NotDonna · 11/08/2025 12:09

@averywittyusername which moisturiser please? I think I need something that penetrates the crepe!

venusandmars · 11/08/2025 14:45

@CherryogDog and @Perimenofullhalt 6.5 years ago, thanks to BC, I reached my ideal weight (I had lost a lot already, then found bootcamp and with it a way to lose the rest - and to regain my joy in a woe that was delicious and satisfying). I stayed there for a long time but over the covid years gradually crept up, and then up, and then up. I'd got used to adding butter to everything, lots and cheese, creamy sauces and fatty cuts of meat. But I was also eating carbs Blush I put nearly all the weight back on, and it was disheartening. I found it hard to admit to myself, but when I look back there are NO photos of me from Christmas 2023 or from our family holiday early in 2024. I knew how plump I looked and I didn't want to be confronted with the evidence.

But the good news is I have been seriously back on this approach since then, and now I'm only a few pounds off that ideal, and I'm determined that this time I will not creep back up. I have reminded myself that, for me, lchf does work.

@lastchancesalmon last week was last week, it's gone. Glad you're back and sticking with us.

I was delighted to see 1.8lb off, that's what cutting out wine does! I've got a lovely chilli for dinner, on buttery cabbage and some broccoli.

NotDonna · 11/08/2025 14:47

@lastchancesalmon definitely give this another go. Every time I do this I have a slip up here and there. Sometimes it’s planned (bday dinner etc) but if you jump straight back in it’s recoverable. Maybe have a think about what caused the slip? You say you had a lot in and things spiralled. There’ll always be something. Maybe stock the fridge and cupboards with bootcamp friendly snacks and foods so if you feel yourself tempted / don’t have time to prep & cook, it makes it somewhat easier.

Perimenofullhalt · 11/08/2025 16:22

Thank you @venusandmars (and @prettybird and @FinallyHere for this BC and spreadsheet). I know it will work if I persevere, thank you for helping me see that I can get back there and that being at target weight needn't be a one-off. So far 20 hours without starchy carbs!

Jollyholibobs · 11/08/2025 18:37

@prettybird and @FinallyHere hello and thanks for running this bootcamp. Can I please join. I have been bootcamping on my own for a couple of weeks but will enjoy the inspiration of this thread. October holiday is my focus.

venusandmars · 11/08/2025 19:01

prettybird · 11/08/2025 19:41

@Jollyholibobs - of course you can join. Flowers You can either add your name to the spreadsheet at the bottom and @FinallyHere will re-alphabetise or she will add it for you Smile

I’m just about to make plum jam after starting to harvest the enormous crop from our Victoria plum tree. I won’t be having any myself though Halo

Welcome back @Jollyholibobs

added you and klaxon run the alphabetised

NotDonna · 11/08/2025 21:11

Not a bad first day. Probably not enough water esp given how hot it’s been. No snacks despite fancying an ice cream at 330pm - I had a large glass of water instead. 🤗
Bfast - coffee with almond milk (unsweetened & has negligible carbs)
Lunch - quite a large chicken salad made up of left over bbq veg (fennel, courgette, peppers,) plus kale, lettuce, toms & chicken including the skin (yum)
Dinner - BBQ’d salmon in soy & ginger, with bbq corgettes, padron peppers, feta, corn on cob (possibly not ideal)
And no wine tonight which is a first in quite a long time!
Had a bit of a dog walk - a bit hot to take the dog too far. Will go much earlier tomorrow.

CherryogDog · 11/08/2025 22:36

I've added myself to the spreadsheet, had a look around the resources, thanks for all the info.

lastchancesalmon · 11/08/2025 22:58

Thank you for the support, it really helped. I made a good start today:
B creamy coffee
L leftover BBQ steak with avo, romaine and Caesar dressing
D more leftover steak with ts broccoli, buttered greens and mushroom creme fraiche sauce.

all the water
no booze

Perimenofullhalt · 12/08/2025 07:48

You have a very talented DH @venusandmars those will be great addition to the freezer too. Does your DH like it when you make crumble by any chance? I like to imagine that next he brings you foraged lurpak and flourGrin

Day 2 for me, starting with water as it's going to be hot today. I feel more awake today, usually a good sign. Bought some nice cheese yesterday instead of treating myself to a bottle of wine.

I have lettuce to use up today so will distract myself from snacks by thinking about what kind of salad I could make with it.

venusandmars · 12/08/2025 09:25

@Perimenofullhalt I'm using up my lettuce to make thai prawn and lemongrass wraps. It's a bit low on fat so dinner will be left over caulflower cheese with crispy bacon.
