Summer 25 HFLC Boot Camp: Week 2

Good Morning Campers or it will be by the time most of you are reading this Wink

Here we are at Week 2 Shock This is my favourite week: the one where people (usually) see the biggest results. But if you haven’t, don’t despair. As long as you follow The Rules, the results will come Grin

It really helps that everyone - from newbies to experienced Boot Campers - is sharing their experiences, both the successes and the slip ups . You are all stars . I haven’t had to get the Big Stick out much as people have usually recognised what happened and worked out strategies for future challenges.

The link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hlJKScntZ78g7eAkaR7hF_uiL0t3WGumIFvHvDAvfJI/edit?usp=

I know some have already put in their weigh-in results. It is always really heartening to see the Week 1 whooshes.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition . We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

That’s also why we encourage taking measurements - usually if the scales aren’t moving, then the inches are! downwards of course Wink

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Smile

The Rules are still the same: you can find them on the OP of the Week 1 thread and also in the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

@shells I understand what you mean about wanting to eat the same thing every day. I do like tasty, varied food and if I'm not on BC I get bored easily. However, on BC I don't snack so I only eat when I'm genuinely hungry and then I can really enjoy simple things and it doesn’t seem to matter if it's something I've eaten four days running.

venusandmars · 17/08/2025 16:28

@Perimenofullhalt interesting... at times when I've completely fallen off the wagon my appetite for 'variety' goes a bit haywire. I want a Big Mac Meal (with salty fries and full fat coke [and I hate coke]). Then I walk past out local Chinese restaurant and I smell something delicious and I'm craving sweet and sour / black bean sauce / prawn crackers. But it also starts me thinking about a delicious cream-rich curry - with a Naan. And then I want to come home and eat butterscotch Angel Delight with tiny sliver of chopped up Mars bar mixed through it probably a Scottish delicacy

It's like an addiction to every fast food there is.

If I have none of the above - calm (or relative calm) and I'm happy with a simple avocado for breakfast, or a boiled egg and butter with my coffee. Certainly not the crazy craving. And in the calm today I ate:

B: coffee with cream
L: salad (lettuce, home-grown tomato, radish, cucumber, avocado) with grated cheese, mayo, some smoked boar from Croatia.
D: Mediterranean cod (well actually Atlantic cod, but cooked in a mediterranean style [pedant]) with tomatoes, olives, courgette (including a portion of Roger's ginormous gourd Wink), oregano, parsely and basil; served with buttered spinach and cabbage.

I have been doing low carb for almost two years and always looking for friends to discuss it with!

Perimenofullhalt · 18/08/2025 07:33

I recognise that feeling too @venusandmars and in my case it's probably "real" FOMO. I want the crisps and the chocolate and the pastries and the ice cream and the Chinese takeaway. And yet this weekend I've been easily sticking to decent food, and wouldn't have thanked you for a big ice cream or a Chinese.

KOKO today, and all the water!

averywittyusername · 18/08/2025 08:00

Interesting @venusandmars @Perimenofullhalt when I feel well-nourished (if that's a word?) I have no, zero, desire for a cheeky takeaway or a biscuit with tea. I am eating such luxurious food that "cheat" foods don't cross my radar.

I want, in the near-ish future, to be able to enjoy medium amounts of carbs in wholesome food, plus the odd glass of wine. I'm sure that it's possible. But I'm thinking that ultra processed, and anything to excess (looking at you, bread!) is gone from my life. In the meantime, while I'm actively trying to lose weight, bootcamp rules shall be followed.

I’ll do any comments on posts from last night on here as it’s easier to refer to them Wink

As a general comment, I find it fascinating that once I’m properly back into this WoE, I lose the desire to - no, addiction - to buy Mars bars, crunchies, skittles etc. I don’t even look at the confectionery shelves when I go into the newsagent or petrol station. Halo

@NoisyAquaPeer Welcome Flowers Chat away! We love talking HFLC and sharing recipes and successes - as well as frustrations and the need for support.

@Perimenofullhalt- you’re doing so well. You’ve really got stuck in to this WoE

@ZiggZagg- Welcome back Flowers Just add yourself on to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness (if you want). You should fit in nicely at the bottom of the list Wink

@CherryogDog- there are Veggie and Fish recipe threads in the recipe sub-topic if you want some inspiration. Doesn’t sound like you need the Big Stick as you resisted the temptation Grin

@FinallyHere I've messed up the spreadsheet, I'm really sorry!
I couldn't do it on my laptop because of the ad blocker, and I messed up with my phone. I tried to tag you on the week three thread, and failed on that too 😚

FinallyHere · 20/08/2025 11:13

np @CherryogDog all sorted & alphabetic order restored

CherryogDog · 20/08/2025 14:55

@FinallyHere thanks so much!

averywittyusername · 21/08/2025 10:32

I'm still feeling good but inexplicably gained a bit. I'm not going to let it deter me! I'm thinking of this as a way of life, not a quick fix.

The old me would see a gain as proof that this "diet" doesn't work, and send me running for a slimming world book or other sensible eating plan. But I'm feeling much more switched on and gull of energy, not to mention several pounds down. I think different things work for different people -- this works for me!

prettybird · 21/08/2025 11:32

@averywittyusername- we’re on the Week 3 thread now Smile
