BIWI · 18/03/2024 09:18

Morning all.

Sad to be back, and envious of those still away - and those yet to go!

I've skimmed the thread while I was away, but not read properly, so I'll catch up later today. In the meantime:

Here's the spreadsheet

Only two weeks left before our final weigh-in, so might be a good time, if things have slowed down, to consider going back to strict Bootcamp?

Whatever you choose, let's make these last two weeks really good ones.

Good luck everyone Flowers

Welcome back @BIWI

1.5 lb down this week after last weekend’s wine and Yorkshire pudding incident.

I’m in for a few strict weeks. Too much dark choc and weekday wine creeping in and I would so love to get into the 12s by the end of BC.

Today’s plan:
B: Greek yog, cream
L: stuffed mushrooms, salad in olive oil
D: burgers, goats cheese, bacon, salad

Looking at that, prob too much dairy and too much processed stuff. Will do better tomorrow.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 18/03/2024 09:36

Welcome back @BIWI I hope you had a good holiday - thanks for the new thread. A lb for me this week which is pretty good given how chaotic my week has been. Staying away from home in several locations and trying my best to stick on plan. Hoping I can just nudge under 150lbs for next week. Whatever happens I will be koko and aiming ultimately for 140.

TheOnlyMrsW · 18/03/2024 09:38

Up 3lbs which is a bit of a shock but not totally unexpected, last week wasn't great so going completely back to basics. Started last night with cottage pie with cauliflower mash for me, broccoli and spinach. Already had 4 cups of herbal tea this morning and breakfast of cherry toms, spinach, mushroom and pepper fried in butter topped with halloumi, there's enough for tomorrow as well in the spirit of being prepared! Dinner this evening is spiced chicken pittas for the carbies, I'll have roast vegetables with mine.
Fairly full on week again, very busy at work, DD has A level coursework to hand in plus footie tonight and tomorrow, office on Thursday and DD working Friday & Saturday night (so at least I can't be tempted by alcohol as she needs picking up!)
Feel cross as a large part of last week was down to not be prepared and also a chunk of CBA, a bit like starting from scratch albeit a stone lighter than when I did start.
Onwards and upwards, birthday trip in just over 2 weeks and determined to be much lighter by the time we go.................
PS: no idea why my photo didn't work on the last thread, I can assure you lovely bootcampers that there's nothing dodgy going on!!!!

TheOnlyMrsW · 18/03/2024 09:39

Sorry, welcome back @BIWI hope you had a lovely time and the rum punches were indeed calorie free!

BIWI · 18/03/2024 10:37

Of course they were! <crosses fingers>

We had a lovely time, and I'm not glad to be home. Would happily have stayed out there for even longer. What's not to love about being in so much sunshine?!

Suffice to say, I'm having a very strict week and will not be gracing the scales with my presence for a while Blush

Interestingly, one of the guides we were with on a tour of Bridgetown, talked about how Barbados has a real problem with diabetes - and on our ride from the airport to our AirBnB, we did see that there's a whole centre devoted to treating it. So much of what we were eating, drinking or tasting was very evidently sweetened - even a meat roll (one of the things we sampled on a food tour) used sweetened pastry.

Welcome back BIWI!

2lbs on which is fine as I was out out on Friday and a lot of cocktails were had.
Absolutely no friendly food on the menu (not going there again) so chalked it up to experience.
But gutted as it's my first gain this year.
But a good week back on strict boot call should get it off and possibly me into the 10s.

Have a good week everyone !

lurknolinger · 18/03/2024 12:02

Welcome back BIWI sounds like you had a lovely time.

I didn't record last Mondays weight as a night out with alcohol the previous weekend had resulted in a one lb gain.

Happy to report that a strict week has brought that back off along with another 2.4lbs that went with it!
I Managed to stay on track despite two big family birthday celebrations (a 21st and an 85th) so I'm just off to polish my halo and chug some more water 😇😉

Thanks to everyone for the continued inspiration and support on the thread.
I think I'd have given up without it.
I've got an aubergine involtini and the ottolenghi red cabbage dish on the menu this week thanks to whoever posted those lovely ideas!

Have a good week everyone.

Almahart · 18/03/2024 12:50

Oh no the penultimate week! I've sts AGAIN, but my own fault. Cheated on Friday night, god knows why and no it wasn't worth it. Just can't seem to get my act together this time, so will be koko after the end of this BC. I have lost weight, but very slowly and I think I would have been putting on weight if I hadn't been on BC so am fine about it really.

FinallyHere · 18/03/2024 12:57

welcome back @BIWI and happy holidays to everyone still away and KOKP to the rest of us

I'm struggling a tad with a sore and scratchy throat and cough which is shaping up to turn into a streaming cold. So, so many cold remedies are honey | sugar based and even the 'no sugar' ones contain sweeteners and who knows what. I'm back on the raw garlic first thing in the morning (washed down with a big glass of water) and the chicken broth part of my lovely mother's chicken with rice and finely chopped veg. soup. Hot steam from a cup with eucalyptus oil, all .the.water, ibuprofen

Before bootcamp, I seemed to always have a cough and runny nose, their clearing up was one of my favourite NSV rewards of bootcamping so now i feel a bit as if i have done nothing to deserve this, while knowing that i am very grateful for my health and this is nothing compared to what many, including those near and dear to me, have to deal with.

Sorry, lovely bootcampers, I am feeling a bit sorry for myself today and would very much welcome any suggestions of bootcamp friendly cough and cold remedies. I am literally prepared to try anything. The raw garlic remedy came out of desperation years ago and now i do it gladly knowing how well it dries up my sinuses. Very open to suggestions, have a good week everyone

BIWI · 18/03/2024 13:18

Sympathy @FinallyHere Flowers

The only thing that really would help is rest and paracetamol or ibuprofen to bring a temperature down. Gargling with dispersible aspirin might help a sore throat. I don't think cough remedies work anyway!

🤣🤣🤣!!!

Much better day today, just finished road vegetables (cherry toms, cauliflower, courgette and pepper) with spiced chicken breast, but feel very full up do possibly too much. Lots of tea and sparkling water, need to keep it up all week now........

venusandmars · 18/03/2024 22:08

In the fridge was a leek, some broccoli, cheese, ham... I bought the first of british asparagus... Blanched veg, wrapped in very thin ham, covered in cheese sauce (cream, mustard, cheese, squeeze of lemon) and baked in the oven. Served with a side of fried mushrooms.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 18/03/2024 22:16

Busy day but stuck to the plan. Come on scales, you know you want to show me 182 Grin

prettybird · 18/03/2024 22:24

Home now. Smile

Not looking forward to the scales tomorrow after leaving a trail of pastel del nata crumbs and empty Madeira glasses behind me Blush

Back onto the water Grin

prettybird · 19/03/2024 09:08

Lots of water needed today Blush

Up over half a stone ShockBlush - back to over 12st at 12st 2lb.

Hopefully, some of what went on quickly will come off again relatively quickly Grin

Have a c40 year Uni residence reunion back in St Andrew at the end of April which is a good incentive to be focussed. Halo

TheOnlyMrsW · 19/03/2024 11:09

@prettybird hope you had a good time, I'm happily planning all of my winter and spring sun holidays for after September when DD flies the nest!!! Some of the weight may be water retention from the flight, when we got back from Ibiza last summer I was up half a stone but it mostly disappeared after a couple of days.........
Lots more herbal tea and water today - breakfast of leftover veg from yesterday's brunch and scrambled eggs, ffgy for lunch if I'm hungry and then leftover cottage pie from Sunday for dinner with probably some broccoli. The carbies are having tacos!
Feel better today after a decent night's sleep and got a huge list of things to get done this week, on top of my actual job which is always stupidly busy at the end of March...........
@venusandmars oooh asparagus, that's going on the shopping list for the weekend!

BIWI · 19/03/2024 12:10

Only 18 posts on this thread and 5 of those are mine Hmm

I'm guessing that most people have given up. Despite the large number who signed up to start with.

If you're still there, lurking at the back, come and post something!

Whicker · 19/03/2024 12:37

I’m still here! 2.4lbs to go before Easter, and trying to be better about water, vegetables, and fat, to help me get there.

I need to add some more energetic exercise in too, but am really struggling with that!

HazelNotHungryLC · 19/03/2024 13:59

I'm still here, although in the middle of the fuck-its, shamefully 🤦‍♀️

We had a full on birthday weekend, which I continued through yesterday lunch (dinner was good though!), and of course as today is my birthday I'm giving myself a free pass. But I'm planning on going strict again through Easter, and beyond. I don't like feeling bloated, gassy and heavy 😫 I'm not sure why I keep doing this to myself as it's not worth it!

I am going to down all the water today though, as that's been awful the past few days, I think it's because I've been so busy though.

I have a wedding to go to the week after Easter and would like to look good, not frumpy and lumpy. I just have to keep reminding myself of that!

OldandTired66 · 19/03/2024 14:06

Definitely been lurking at the back @BIWI and it shows in a 1lb gain this week. Back over 200lb, sigh. Like @Almahart, I've lost my mojo a bit and struggling with the endless rain, bored with all my favourite recipes, need a kick up the backside (and some sun!). I find it easy to stick to BC-Lite but obviously going wrong with portion size and snacks - not hungry really, just bored. I do have some lovely holidays planned in a few weeks and over the summer so hopefully will get a grip and put some effort in! And the sun is out today, at last.

pinknsparkly · 19/03/2024 14:15

I've put on a bit on the last 3 weeks (didn't weigh last week as was on holiday and forgot the previous week). I've smoothed the gain across those weeks in the spreadsheet (wasn't sure of the best way to do it because if I leave a week with no weight it seems to get upset?). Was feeling a bit down about the weight gain and then woke up this morning with a doozy of a first post-pregnancy period and another 1kg weight gain! So I'm blaming that and knuckling back down to it. On holiday last week I'd got back into the habit of eating breakfast but that just seems to make me hungrier for the rest of the day. So I've gone back to a snack about 11am and then lunch a couple of hours later (I'm still exclusively breastfeeding and while LCbootcamp does help regulate my appetite a bit, I don't think I have a chance of this mythical lack of appetite until baby is off the boob!!)

Glad you both had lovely holidays @BIWI and @prettybird. Ours was a UK based holiday and rather soggy, but still good fun!

catwithflowers · 19/03/2024 14:27

I'm still here have lost 6lbs in 6 weeks but more doing lite than proper boot camp as I enjoy a glass of wine or a G&T 🙈. We go on holiday a week tomorrow so I'm hoping for another couple of pounds off.

Will relax a bit on holiday but am not planning on being silly with the carbs. It helps that I'm feeling healthier on this WOE and that my blood pressure is now within normal range for my age 😃

Whicker · 19/03/2024 17:14

Smoked sausage and courgette stir fry sort of affair for dinner tonight. Heavy on the courgettes, in an attempt to be better at vegetables.

My double chin is so close to being gone. It usually vanishes around this kind of weight. That would be a great NSV to end on.
