Morning all!

As ever, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So we only have two weeks to go before the end of this Bootcamp. Still time to shed a pesky pound or two, especially if you're super strict. Perhaps for these last two weeks you might consider doing full-on Bootcamp, rather than Bootcamp Light?

And now for a challenge. One that I know that not everyone will relish! (Looking at you @venusandmars Grin). Exercise! This is main/partly for me, as I've missed several of my PT gym sessions over the last month - a combination of him being away and me having guests and/or social events. And I've been very lax about going to the gym during the week.

So the challenge - it doesn't have to be much, if you don't do any now, and it doesn't have to be every day. But see if you can fit in at least one form of exercise this week - be that a walk or an intensive HIIT session. For me, I need to get back to my deadlifts, as I'm working to beat my PB.

Therefore I'm going to get to the gym at least once, and I'm also going to get myself out and go for a walk. I love this time of the year when things are budding and starting to flower, and I have a few podcasts to catch up on too.

Good luck!

Flowers

@BIWI Thank you! 3 😊 But we’ve been together 15 years.

Rollerbird · 21/02/2023 11:36

Happy anniversary! 😁 @TangledWebOfDeception

QforCucumber · 21/02/2023 11:55

@TangledWebOfDeception happy anniversary! Ours was yesterday - 12 together and 4 married 😁

back on it strictly and the bloating seems to be easing but the lower backache still there. Home stretch this bc - let’s do this!

TangledWebOfDeception · 21/02/2023 12:22

Thank you @Rollerbird, and @QforCucumber! And a Happy Anniversary to you too! Flowers

We’ve received more leeks in our veg delivery today, so I think I may add the ones we already had to today’s dinner menu.

We made a trial order of a range of frozen fish/seafood a few days ago, which won’t be arriving until a week into March so a while to wait...But I’m very excited to soon have more fish more readily available. Hoping the quality is good as it will be very useful to have it in the freezer rather than nipping out to the fish counter.

I’ve decided to prioritise a weekly dinner of fish and one vegetarian as standard. Since we no longer buy as much alcohol the saving we’ve made will go toward fish.

SpottyBumPony · 21/02/2023 14:09

Happy Anniversaries! 😊

I bought some cashews yesterday, I then ate all the cashews. Oopsie! I'm making sure I stay v low carb today with soup and olives for lunch. I'm making keto pancakes for dinner and will have mine stuffed with cheesey leeks

Pancakes

Bit late to the new thread for me, thank you very kindly @BIWI for opening the shutters on another week for us. It's not even a weighing week for me so no numbers to report.

This weekend I noticed that I had got into a habit of having albeit 90% Lindt chocolate at the weekend whether I really enjoyed it or not rather than eating to my appetite as bootcamp encourages me to do.

That's usually a sign that I'll start have more and more so decided I'd have none just to demonstrate that I am am no one's slave.

Predictably, I had some on Monday evening instead. Nothing wrong with that, so long as I draw a line and not have even more today.

In other news, encouraged by another poster, I've had another clear out of too big clothes. Amazing and so.much.nicer when going down rather than when going up the weight scale.

The clear out involved trying everything on so I can report that I really can now get into everything in my wardrobe. Not necessarily do up zip etc but nether the less, I'm counting it as a NSV

My 'control' white Levi's shorts are not fit to be worn in public and several tops don't really look great, but I no longer have heaps and drawers full of "someday" clothes. Not having to cram the clothes that I can fit into into part of my wardrobe while so much space is taken up by moon wearable clothes is such a treat.

BrendaLee · 21/02/2023 16:00

Wish I'd seen your recipe sooner @SpottyBumPony - made keto pancakes with almond flour for lunch and was a bit underwhelmed.

However, looking forward to dinner of Thai spiced salmon with roasted veg and courgette (just need to decide what shape to do the courgette - endless variations!)

QforCucumber · 21/02/2023 16:32

Thanks to Bootcamp I have decided a Julienne peeler will change my life - hoping this is £3 well spent (thanks Ebay!)

BIWI · 21/02/2023 16:35

No pancakes here this evening - I'm not a fan. Instead we're having tartiflette with a green salad. Really looking forward to that.

Happy anniversaries!
Love a good clear out. I spent 13 hours clearing out DD3’s wardrobe over half term - she had stuff from 4-5 years ago, which looked rather doll sized. She’s such a hoarder. She now no clothes but charity shops happy!
That tartiflette is fab! I made it on Saturday and it’s lasted several days with a green salad. It’s very rich so didn’t eat much at each serve.
Today has so far been much better!
Had Bovril drink for bfast - so comforting.
lunch was heart cabbage ‘spaghetti’ with Bolognese. Dinner chicken harissa traybake with olives, peppers, courgettes, feta and Konjac rice’. DH & DDs had couscous with theirs.
DD3 is having eating issues again so I’ve just made a high calorie bueno milkshake with icecream. It’s so hard keeping her calories up. She has high fat, high carb (and unfortunately high sugar!), but that’s the only way to stop her fading away. I now need to check she’s actually drinking it. Sigh.

FinallyHere · 21/02/2023 20:42

Goodness, that looks delicious @BIWI

DryWhiteagainW · 21/02/2023 21:50

I’ve been through this with my DD NotDonna so sorry, so tough, sending love xx

NotDonna · 21/02/2023 22:00

@DryWhiteagainW thank you! It’s exhausting isn’t it? It’s been over a year.

Rayna37 · 22/02/2023 13:34

Fajita style chicken last night was delicious again. Need to cut back on the extras like dark chocolate though.

Another day on the road- breakfast while charging my EV: yogurt with the last of my homemade low carb granola.

Lunch is a very nice chicken salad from pret and a coffee bloody charging again but should be home early enough to cook the "moussaka boats" instead of leaving it to my sister who's helping with DS this week.

Can't recall if I got chance to post yesterday but snuck in a cheeky mid morning swim to compensate for the early start today when I would have usually gone.

TangledWebOfDeception · 22/02/2023 14:29

Hello everyone.

Have read back but am so very tired today and not up to much brain-wise as I've not slept well the past few nights, so I'll just say WELL DONE to those who've cleared out clutter (so good for the mind) and/or had NSVs, much sympathy/empathy to those who have struggled/are struggling with helping your DCs navigate life/health/wellbeing Flowers (A mother is only ever as happy as her unhappiest child), and a big thumbs up to that delicious looking tartiflette! I've so much veg to use at the moment that I really can't get a celeriac but as soon as I've got space I'm going to pick one up for sure.

DH decided against pancakes as he didn't fancy it (I make them here and there anyway so it's not a once-a-year chance). Our chicken with prosciutto and herby cheese filling was very nice and we had a fresh salad with it instead of the steamed veg I had planned, which I really enjoyed! Don't have salads all that often in the winter... Also a low carb(ish, as it had a little bit of corn starch in the custard powder) trifle made up of jelly, custard, strawberry compote and whipped cream. And thus concludes the off-piste delights in connection with our anniversary!

Lunch today was two fried eggs with shallots and a small handful each of mushrooms, sprouts and cherry tomatoes.

Dinner will be pho with pork spareribs and a range of veg.

TangledWebOfDeception · 22/02/2023 14:59

Oh and konjac noodles as well! Never tried them before. Am going to have a small amount and save the rest for another meal.

Water has slipped a little the last few days. Must make a renewed effort!

BIWI · 22/02/2023 15:03

@TangledWebOfDeception When you first open the pack of noodles, you'll get a fishy smell that's not really that pleasant. Drain them, and rinse really thoroughly in water, drain again, and then dry fry them for 3 minutes before you use them.

Thank you @BIWI!

Had a strict BC day yesterday with zero off piste moments. Yaaay! I think because I was quite busy I had less chance to think about snacks. And drank a fair bit of water (and Bovril).
Today going well so far. Raining this morning and tennis lesson was ‘shall we or shan’t we’ and I really wasn’t in the mood so was thinking ‘shan’t’… then had a positive ‘oh fuck it’ and went. A bit of a damp session but good! Yaay!! Then took DDog for his usual hour or so walk. Hamstrings super tight so may do an online Pilates if I can find one.
Bfast - Bovril
lunch - buttery cabbage & bolognes with Parmesan - had seconds as starving. And thought 2nds better than wanting a snack later.
dinner - made a tagine but has chickpeas in so DDs & DH can have that & I’ll have left over harissa chicken with I’m not sure 🤔

BIWI · 22/02/2023 15:21

A bit of involuntary IF here today! I had to go to the dentist to have a filling replaced - appointment was finished by 12, and the dentist told me I couldn't eat or drink anything other than water for 3 hours!

prettybird · 22/02/2023 15:50

Was very chuffed with myself yesterday: I did go out for my run after my Pilates coffee. Felt surprisingly OK and my pace was surprisingly good (given it's over 5 months since I last went for a run Blush), even though I was deliberately trying to run slowly and relaxedly. 3.14km.

I did Level 3 Day 1 of the Jillian Michaels Ripped DVD this morning and am happy to announce that I'm now 11st 8.75lb Smile (having had a bit of a blip the last few weeks that I didn't admit to Blush), which is where I'd got to just before Christmas.

So that's objective 3 of this Boot Camp met Halo (Objective 1: get under 12st; Objective 2: get under 11st 10lb, ie into the 3 digit territory).

Next one is to get under 11.5st Grin

We leave to go skiing 3 weeks tomorrow (going to drive down relaxedly through France and I've booked an auberge for Friday night in Albertville). I've checked back and the last time I went skiing, 7 years ago, I was 13 stone Shock, so I'll be at least 1.5 stone lighter this time Smile. My salopettes will definitely fit Grin

Skiphopbump · 22/02/2023 16:00

I went to the leisure centre again today.

14 mins on the rowing machine burnt 82kcal and it was hard work.
29 mins of swimming, a relaxing breaststroke, burnt 549kcal.
I expected that the rowing would burn more per hour compared to swimming but was very wrong!

NotDonna · 22/02/2023 16:08

Well done on the exercise prettybird and skip. Just think how proud you’ll be when you announce your weight in the ski shop prettybird I remember having to announce I was 80kg a few years ago and the lady behind me saying ‘you don’t look that heavy’. Not sure if that was a compliment or not but I took it as one. Rare as they are!
