Good Morning Campers !SmileFlowers @FinallyHere will be along shortly with the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness but I know we've already had a lot of success, both on the scales and NSVs.

In the meantime, here is the link to the "Master" recipe thread to provide inspiration for all the lovely food you can make on this WoE.

We're into the final fortnight but we'll still be around afterwards for support or to continue following the Rules Smile If you've only just started, there is still time to lose up to half a stone before Christmas Xmas Grin That's still my objective Xmas Wink

I'm getting my flu and Covid vaccinations this morning - no #vaccake for me but I'll come hone and have a cup of coffee from our new bean to cup machine Grin

Thanks @BIWI for those resources!

BIWI · 01/12/2022 10:03

My please @SerenWantsItAll Smile

BIWI · 01/12/2022 10:05

My please?! My pleasure, obviously. DYAC

prettybird · 01/12/2022 10:23

In terms of self-care, I'm still managing to get to bed before midnight every night - it's getting easier too Halo

In terms of Christmas prep, all the decorations are down (thank you dh Xmas Smile) and I've filled and put up the Advent Calendar (with toffees that ds and dh will eat Xmas Grin).

I actually posted my Christmas cards to South Africa, Oz and NZ yesterday - early Xmas Shock A couple still to write for US/Canada and France and that's me done with the overseas cards. Need to get to the Cancer Research shop in town to get more cards for my "local" ones (have seriously culled my list though and now hand-deliver as many as I can).

Just checking back on last year and I'm 3lb up on where I'd got to at the equivalent time. Given that I started this year's Boot Camp 8lb heavier , I'll take that Xmas Grin

Got an absolute stinker of a cold. I'm all snotty and bunged up. Kind of wish it was covid so I could be off work but no such luck.

I'm meant to be going out for dinner with some colleagues tonight, not sure if I can face it. I've taken a couple of paracetamol and made a huge cup of tea and if I'm still feeling horrible I'll have to cancel.

prettybird · 01/12/2022 19:04

Hope you're feeling better @debka Flowers Colds are rotten Sad

Lovely veg and chicken soup tonight, with finely diced neep, celeriac, onions, shallot, leeks, tiny carrots (the only ones that grew in the garden this year), leeks and white cabbage, in home made chicken stock (with lots of chicken fat Wink) and shredded chicken stripped from the carcass that made the stock (we'd left a chicken leg for ds which he didn't have, so there was plenty of meat to strip).

Might blitz a small amount and add cream for a portion for me tomorrow. Smile

How are people getting on with their Christmas preparations - not only their weight/clothes to get into targets Xmas Shock, but the mundane stuff Xmas Wink - and the nice stuff! Xmas Grin

I've got a Quiz Night to go to tonight at the rugby club - they'll be ShockShockShockHmm at me for insisting on just drinking water Halo

OP posts:
FinallyHere · 02/12/2022 12:16

I've been delighted with how many Christmas things there are around this year, after a couple of hours of thin pickings.

As for drinking, I've volunteered as designated driver for everything , offering a lift as a 'thank you' to all the lovely people I know. So far it's worked out well. I have one proper drink, mostly champagne (natch) and otherwise stick to water. Ideal.

I've also decided to buy the bullet and weight myself at least once before breaking up for the holiday. To establish a base line, a gentle reminder why I'll be making the choices I'll make over the season.

prettybird · 02/12/2022 16:01

That sounds a good decision @FinallyHere Xmas Smile

It will hold you a bit in check over the Festive Period as you won't want to see too much of a change afterwards Xmas Wink

Dh has been opening bottles of wine (mostly because he's been working on the selection of wines we'll be selling over Christmas

OP posts:
prettybird · 02/12/2022 16:05

...posted too soon Blush

...the wines we'll be selling over Christmas WineXmas Smile and he likes to have a glass while he does so Wine) but he no longer bothers asking me if I want one Halo

I'll have a glass or two of Cava on a Friday and a glass (or two depending on how good it is Wink) with our meal on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Lovely to hear all the Christmas plans, unfortunately I’ve got Covid and so all my lovely plans for the next few days/week have had to be shelved, I don’t feel too bad, luckily I don’t need to do anything for the next few days, but won’t be going anywhere until I feel better and hopefully test negative. I really don’t fancy eating anything either which is most unlike me.

I'm not sure how long people are testing positive for at the moment.

I am weighing in at my goal for this bootcamp, but hope that I might loose another lb or 2 before next week.

FinallyHere · 02/12/2022 17:49

Sorry to hear that you are poorly @Sunsnowsun

Hope it touches you only lightly and that you are back feeling better soon

BIWI · 02/12/2022 21:43

Sorry to hear about the Covid @Sunsnowsun - hopefully you'll have a mild dose!

Our Christmas has started today, with a mega boozy lunch (I'll gloss over the details!), and our family from Oz are about to arrive - any time in the next 20 minutes! - so it's all very exciting here. But will be full-on carb city, given specific food requirements/intolerances/prefrences, so I'm bowing out for a while.

FinallyHere · 02/12/2022 22:26

Enjoy your sabbatical @BIWI & see you on the other side

ditavonteesed · 03/12/2022 07:13

Have a fabulous time @BIWI, see you in Jan x
First night out done, wasn't too bad, today is a big one then seriously on the wagon till next Friday.

Loving planning all my lovely outfits for these nights out. Not so long ago I would have hated it.

Decorations go up next Thursday here, can't wait to see my tree again, it's pink and all the decorations are original my little ponies and care bear miniatures with Barbie on the top where she belongs. Sometimes I feel sorry for dh in our house but he doesn't seem to mind.

Baystard · 03/12/2022 09:20

That sounds brilliant @BIWI, hope you have a lovely time.

I'm a bit the same @ditavonteesed - it's amazing how much more exciting Christmas entertainment is when you get to enjoy being dressed up, so many years I've dreaded it because of low self-confidence.

@FinallyHere I weighed myself last week, but now won't weigh again until January. Possibly longer given the loss will naturally be lower from here on. 17lb off this bootcamp but want to keep going for health/confidence/sleep reasons.

@Sunsnowsun sorry to hear about your covid but well done for getting to your target loss for this bootcamp Flowers

@prettybird too impressed by your level of Christmas organisation, I can only dream of being so organised Grin

prettybird · 03/12/2022 09:29

Honestly, I'm not normally this organised @Baystard

In a funny way, running this Boot Camp has helped me get more focussed and by setting the challenges, I've felt duty bound to follow them myself

@BIWI - have a fabulous time with your relatives and hope you recover soon after your fancy lunch with wine See you the other side of the Festive Period and thank you for your help and contributions this Boot Camp.

@Sunsnowsun - sorry about the positive Covid result. My dad seemed to recover quite quickly when he had it recently. The worst thing was the anosmia but even that went within a week (he re-educated his palate with chilli and other strong tastes). Dh and I had it about a year ago. We didn't lose our sense of taste but water tasted horrible (metallic and disgusting Sad) which made drinking the necessary Boot Camp water difficult Confused

ZiggZagg · 03/12/2022 10:05

Morning!

Eat, drink and be merry @BIWI see you in January x

Things going well for me, I seem to have had a bit of a whoosh, fingers crossed it sticks Grin

My Christmas tree goes up 19th November every year (tradition from when DD was little) I still have decorations from 15years ago!

Happy weekend to you all!

prettybird · 03/12/2022 11:22

We're getting our Christmas tree a week on Monday but it will probably only be decorated the following day. My decoration collection started the first year I moved into my own flat and bought my own tree for the first time, so in 1985 Xmas Shock I keep to a theme of mostly red.

I've also been buying a Father Christmas decoration compatible with my colour theme Xmas Wink every year for ds since he was born so that he has a collection of his own when he buys his own place Xmas Smile

The quiz last night was fun - I drank water all night and our team won Xmas Grin It was unexpected as we'd got lots wrong but the key answer we got right was that someone in our team knew how to spell what DNA stood for. Plus I knew where Jim Morrison was buried and where the Yarra Valley was Grin (we won by one point)

I'm down half a pound this morning - still got 2.5lb to go to get under 12 stone.

OP posts:
ZiggZagg · 03/12/2022 11:41

Ah the old Deoxyribonucleic Acid (I did need to use autocorrect 🤣)

I like the tradition of Christmas. Our tradition started when me and DD lived on our own for the first time and she still (at 16!) remind me when it's the 19th coming up 🤣

Just shopping for a Christmas jumper for work and stocked up on No Pigs in Blankets for Christmas Day Dinner which I'm doing this year!

Feeling prepared this year.

ZiggZagg · 03/12/2022 11:41

@prettybird well done for sticking to water, you're an inspiration Grin

prettybird · 03/12/2022 17:09

You've reminded me to go and drink some more water Wink - I'm not so good when I'm not in a pub/bar and actively trying to avoid alcohol Blush

prettybird · 03/12/2022 21:32

This was my lovely low carb meal tonight. This is our usual Christmas Day meal (after the turkey and ham of Christmas Eve) but tonight I was using up a pheasant that had been in the freezer (thus releasing some space in the freezer Wink): roast pheasant with a cranberry sauce, served with roasted shallots and Savoy cabbage (shoogled in the microwave Grin) with crispy streaky bacon (that had been used to bard the pheasant) Wink Dh had roast potatoes, using potatoes from the garden Grin
