Good Morning Campers !SmileFlowers @FinallyHere will be along shortly with the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness but I know we've already had a lot of success, both on the scales and NSVs.

In the meantime, here is the link to the "Master" recipe thread to provide inspiration for all the lovely food you can make on this WoE.

We're into the final fortnight but we'll still be around afterwards for support or to continue following the Rules Smile If you've only just started, there is still time to lose up to half a stone before Christmas Xmas Grin That's still my objective Xmas Wink

I'm getting my flu and Covid vaccinations this morning - no #vaccake for me but I'll come hone and have a cup of coffee from our new bean to cup machine Grin

Hello all, I'm still around too - well done to all of us! Looking forward to Christmas this year, will be seeing some family I don't see nearly enough of, I've put up some decorations and the first Kelly Clarkson christmas record back in rotation. I also made a digital countdown so just eighteen days now til I'm off work :))

prettybird · 04/12/2022 10:10

I've got my wreath up on the front door and have put out a couple of the dancing toys that line the internal steps. Plus I've put out "sacrificial elf" (who now looks even worse than this photo) for the cats Xmas Grin so that they don't go after the rest of the Christmas soft toys that will also be going on to the steps.

Sacrificial elf 😂

ZiggZagg · 04/12/2022 12:01

🤣🤣 poor elf!

The whoosh continues for me! I don't know how but I am definitely not complaining!

Planning a lovely winter walk around Liverpool docks and Pier Head today. All fine when you're wrapped up but may have a low carb hot choc when I get back. I love seeing the lights and may even go on the big wheel with DS!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

I weigh daily and am a bit surprised by how much even one or two items make. I gained a pound from two small lattes a few weeks ago. Can I never have milk again? It was the first in months. 2 glasses of wine equates to a pound too. I’ve not dared try fruit or nuts. I’m now wondering if my body is getting used to this woe so much that even one/two things adds pounds. I’m very reluctant to move onto boot camp light given the couple of wine/latte examples. But not sure I can sustain strict boot camp forever either! Could it be a metabolic thing? I already fast til lunch so 8:16 so don’t want to cut back further.
Sacrificial Elf has made me giggle!

NotDonna · 04/12/2022 13:45

@ZiggZagg hows your hot choc low carb please?

ZiggZagg · 04/12/2022 14:25

@NotDonna it's not about depriving yourself of things, it's about knowing how your body reacts to eating certain carbs. I know that I can eat 2 slices of crusty bread and it can put a pound on me, and if I eat it every day it will significantly impact my weight. When I am at target weight, I will allow myself to increase carbs when essential (such as a crusty bread/latteGrin) but I won't be chugging them down daily and 1lb won't make a difference then. As I have a lot to lose, I'm prepared to deny myself my favourite foods/drinks to get where I need to be. I suppose it's about your mindset really. I know I won't have to give up crusty bread forever and when I am slimmer, I can enjoy it from time to time without worrying if I'm putting 1lb on. I hope that made sense as I've went on a bit of a rant there (I just love my bread) Blush

I make low carb lattes with no added sugar almond milk (sometimes I add a little sweetener) so I'm not deprived of my favourite coffee.

Low carb hot chocolate is easy, I use a square of Lindt dark chocolate, and grate it into hot almond milk and stir. Again, you could add a little sweetener if you don't like the bitter taste.

Hope this helps, I know it can be frustrating but keep thinking of your Linder term goals Wink

ZiggZagg · 04/12/2022 14:27

That should be longer term goals, I don't even know what Linder is Grin

Baystard · 04/12/2022 14:29

I'm loving seeing your Christmas preparation @prettybird and I'm particularly satisfied by the sight of that bastarding elf getting his comeuppance!

Well done on the whoosh @ZiggZagg .

Skiphopbump · 04/12/2022 14:48

@notdonna weight can fluctuate a bit even if sticking to the rules. I’m the same weight as today as I was exactly a week ago, I gained 1lb last Monday. I know that even when I have stuck to the plan religiously I will not loose much or even gain slightly mid- cycle then just before my period starts the weight will whoosh off.

NotDonna · 04/12/2022 15:11

Thanks @Skiphopbump and @ZiggZagg - I’m not keen on almond milk but is it much better than cows? I’m perimenopause do never have a clue where I am in my cycle 🤣 I’ll obviously koko. I’m 155lbs so have lost 10 but would like to get down to 145 - another 10. And I guess I’m getting a bit concerned about Christmas festivities as I’d like to be able to have one or two treats. Literally one or two.

Baystard · 04/12/2022 15:48

@NotDonna I know it's easier said than done but would you consider stopping weighing as often for the next few weeks? I say this because it sounds like you're at risk of letting the absolute number on the scales (rather than your own choice) dictate what you can eat (or how happy you feel eating it) during a time that it's difficult to stay strict. From personal experience this isn't the way to long term success/sustainability.

Sprouts with chorizo tonight, can't wait!

Lots of eating out this week but menus all look fine since turkey dinner features on all of them - they are quite meaty/sprouty and a fellow diner will doubtless be grateful for an extra roastie or two.

FinallyHere · 04/12/2022 16:34

@NotDonna

Mmmm, I'm not a big fan of non-dairy milk either and much prefer creme to milk in coffee. A teaspoonful of double creme in coffee works wonders for me. It is vital that I measure out a teaspoonful as unmeasured I could easily pour my body weight in creme.

I get what you mean about needing the plan to be sustainable. Amongst my favourite things about bootcamp is just how luxurious the included foods are. No one seeing me order expresso con panna ever imagines that I might be 'dieting'. I love it and hug to me the knowledge of how well it works. Some of us do strict bootcamp on weekdays and bootcamp lite at the weekend seems to work well for me.

It really is essential is to be sure you are keeping to the rules for whichever you pick. A glass of wine at the weekend would be boot camp lite. Given the carbs in milk, a latte would only ever be beyond bootcamp: I think of them as quite different kinds of treats.

NotDonna · 04/12/2022 18:09

Interesting how latte and wine are different treats but I do understand finally Thank you!
Yes baystard I think you are right. I’ve been weighing so that I see this and in some ways it’s helpful as I’d be attacking the fruit and nuts more readily if I hadn’t seen the effects of latte and wine. But I do think you’re right. We go to Australia in 10 days and I’m not packing scales (although the thought of not weighing us rather worrying!) so I’ll have 3 weeks of festivities and no scales. Scary!! However, I’ve learnt so much from this boot camp that I think I can keep excesses to a minimum and still have a lovely time.
I just want to say how lovely and supportive you all are. Everyone is fab!!! I’m very aware that I’m take, take, take on this thread with very little (if any) give. x

BIWI · 04/12/2022 22:05

There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking @NotDonna - because at some point you will end up being a giver!

prettybird · 04/12/2022 22:13

We all share our experiences @NotDonna Flowers - sometimes that means taking support, sometimes that means giving support Smile

We're all here for each other Flowers

Have a fabulous trip to Oz. Relax. Abide by The Rules where you can but don't stress if you can't. Family time is more important. With your motivation and commitment to this WoE, I think you'll be surprised by how little "damage" Xmas Wink will be done by the end of the Festive Period - especially if you mentally prepare yourself for a small uplift.

We'll be here in (late?) January for another Boot Camp. Xmas Smile

Had the Armenian Lamb tonight (thank you for the recipe @FancyFelix Flowers it's on the meat recipe thread ) - it was lovely Smile. I had mine with shredded buttery shoogled Savoy cabbage, while dh, ds and my dad had rice Halo

@NotDonna nothing wrong with the taking it's what the threads are here for, plus when you are further in you will reverse that (although I still think I take more than I give). With the lattes you will find eventually you know what your body can take and also what treats are worth a strict few days and which are not. Once you get to maintenance it's all about balance. I have maintained (thereabouts) for about a year and a half, weight fluctuates but I have a range and when I get to the top of that I rein it in. I recently decided I would like to lose more after seeing I could successfully maintain.

2 nights out down am free from social events till Friday now. Thank god I think I'm socialled out already and heading towards skint at an alarming rate why do all my friends want to go to poncy cocktail bars.
Only one present left to buy. Tree going up on Thursday. Dd living in grinch merchandise already. Feeling very festive.

debka · 05/12/2022 07:14

Sorry to have been quiet this week- I'm still going strong though.

My birthday was on Saturday and I did not stick to the rules for that day! We went to London and I had an almond croissant and a Bellini for lunch, then a wonderful meal in a Sri Lankan restaurant for dinner, with pudding.

Back on it on Sunday so we we'll see what the scales say today.

It was completely worth it and I regret nothing! I also bought a pair of size 16 jeans that I was weeping over not fitting in at the start of bootcamp, so that was a great victory!
