Hello

how do I fill in the spreadsheet? Any help appreciated . Thank you

BIWI · 15/01/2022 20:49

@dogmandu

You don't need to fill in the spreadsheet! It will appear, magically, on Monday! Grin

dogmandu · 15/01/2022 20:51

Thank you for the quick reply BIWI. I mean with my weight an stuff.

BIWI · 15/01/2022 20:53

It's the same reply though - you can do that on Monday Smile

OP posts:
dogmandu · 15/01/2022 20:55

Do have to offload the whole spreadsheet to fill it in? (sorry to be so thick!)

ToddlingForwards · 15/01/2022 21:01

Looking forward to starting on Monday (I’m afraid I have done no sensible gradual reduction of carbs). Just working on my meal plan and Tesco delivery list for tomorrow and wondering what I’ve forgotten…

I0NA · 15/01/2022 22:08

Hi everyone, I’m looking forward to doing Bootcamp with you all and eating through my fridge of delicious food.

I’ve probably about 2 stone to lose but I don’t weight myself so I’m just guessing. In the past weighing myself has become a very negative and unhelpful thing for me so now I go by what I can see in the mirror and the fit of my clothes.

My target is to lose some weight and get back into running again by doing parkrun regularly and then a 10k in the summer.

@BIWI - can you please take me off the weight in sheet? Thanks

Andi2020 · 15/01/2022 22:43

All those starting out I started in March 21 so not as experienced as some others but I lost almost 3 stone and in maintenance now.
I lost between 1 and 3lb per week and it all added up.
I feel alot better now, the only thing I really need to work on is having my blood pressure normal. I take medication for blood pressure and went to doctor for an internal on Friday and she checked blood pressure, I was really hoping it was normal but unfortunately not, but she said it may have been because of interna
Good luck everyone and set small targets some start at a higher weight so loose more quickly so don't get disheartened looking at someone else's weight cheer each other on its not a competition to see who looses the most the quickest.
This bootcamp really motivates and helps each other along if you really want it to work.
It's also nice to talk about every day life

Gardening, and I remember someone had lambing season should be coming close to that time again. Sharing decorating ideas or family life. All these to me are part if the bootcamp SmileFlowers

Random789 · 16/01/2022 07:52

Hi everybody,
I'm posting now in an attempt to re-gather some motivation and discipline. I began a 'pre-bootcamp bootcamp' a week o two ago and have fallen off the wagon. Feeling a bit low and pessimistic.

Almost felt like dropping out altogether - might still do that. But i want to try. I'm pretty severely depressed these days - to the extent of being a client of the community mental health team. I need to find ways of keeping my self-esteem up. Eating well does help massively with that -- but setting goals and then failing to meet them is obviously very self-destructive so sometimes it feels safer not to try.

My failings have included:
--drinking alcohol
--a couple of episodes of eating out-and-out evil carb foods, eg pretzels
--being out of control and snacky with certain foods that are bootcamp friendly, eg cream and mascarpone. I know I don't need to fuss about the calorie content of these sorts of food when I use them in proper, decent regular meals, but I am using them between mels and after meals for comfort eating.

mistywillow17 · 16/01/2022 09:10

Hi all, I'm really looking forward to getting going. I've had good results with this way of eating in the past, but lockdown and a really bad few years dealing with bereavements and family health issues have taken their toll and I am the heaviest I have ever been.

I've had a few failed attempts over that time with bootcamps, and I think it's because I got complacent and a bit arrogant after my initial success and started bending/completely ignoring some of the rules. I definitely wasn't eating enough veg, and I told myself I couldn't cope without diet coke. I also used Prosecco as a low-carbish treat, but in all honesty drank far too much of it.

I am all in this time. The food delivery has just come and I can barely shut the fridge door for all the greenery - the veggie drawer has never seen so much action. I'm planning on experimenting with the air fryer as I prefer my veg with a bit of caramelisation.

I will not be drinking alcohol at all this bootcamp - I've been off it for fortnight already in preparation - so I'm hoping that will also make a big difference this time.

Good luck everyone, and thank you @BIWI and everyone involved in running bootcamp/the spreadsheet etc.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 16/01/2022 10:07

@Random789 sounds tough. Do keep going though, the end will be worth it.

Comfort eating's my undoing as well, even without real depression I give myself permission to look after myself with treat food when things get tough.

The turnaround for me was deciding that actually what I deserved was to feel healthy & good about my body. But to be honest it happened when things got easier so that's maybe no help to you.

On the diet front the problem with your lapses is that the pretzels take you out of ketosis and then the cream calories do matter. Personally I find that thought helps me not to slip on the carbs.

BSky · 16/01/2022 10:33

@Random789 - sorry you’re having a difficult time Flowers Hope you are getting all the support you need from your MH team and people around you.

I know how hard it can be to change things when you’re struggling but do try & keep on if you can as it will be worth it. Be gentle with yourself though and know that we will all struggle with unhelpful carb temptations. There’s lots of good support on here to help people keep on track. Also some lovely camaraderie as people share their meal choices, top tips, slip ups, as well as family news, home decor or progress with lambing season and other random chit chat.

Take good care and good luck if you start now or choose to join later x

Later on today I'll be posting the link to the spreadsheet.

If your name isn't on it, and you would like it to be, just add your name to the bottom of the list. Please don't try and insert your name in it's 'rightful' alphabetised place!. That will mess things up. @ouchmyfeet will make sure that the list is alphabetised once everyone is signed up.

If your name is on the list and you don't want it to be there, just drop me a PM and I'll make sure it's removed.

If you're using your mobile to access the spreadsheet, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app. Here's how you can do that

Although I'll post a link to the spreadsheet each Monday, you don't have to put your weight in on a Monday if you prefer to have your weigh-in on a different day.

Bit late to the party but signing in as I have 7kg I’d like to lose before a big event in March.

BIWI · 16/01/2022 16:30

Go and add your name to the sign-up thread!

And welcome Flowers

Been a bit of a thread lurker, but reading everything, and people kept emphasising how much easier it is to stick to if you prep properly. So, spent some time today pottering around making a couple of different kinds of egg muffins, some meatballs, pesto courgette, and harissa aubergine. Fingers crossed it makes the first few days a bit easier Smile

SweetPotatoDumpling · 16/01/2022 16:44

Only just found this @BIWI

I was very definitely on the sign up thread and I have tagging switched on, but I've not been tagged on here so maybe I'm not on the spread sheet??

Please put me on 😢😢

SweetPotatoDumpling · 16/01/2022 16:56

Ah...I thought that by adding my name to your thread dated 29th December saying I'd join, that was me 'adding my name' to the list. I've found another list now in Chat which I never actually look in 🤣. I thought it would be in the Low Carbing area if there was going to be something else, sorry 🤦‍♀️

I'll go add my name now 👍

I0NA · 16/01/2022 16:57

That looks very impressive @TakeItCheesy

BIWI · 16/01/2022 17:06

@SweetPotatoDumpling I've added you to the spreadsheet!

CatsAreBoppinAroundToTheRadio · 16/01/2022 17:06

@TakeItCheesy Oh yum that all looks amazing!

Batshittery · 16/01/2022 17:11

Cheesy your meals look delicious.
I have done my prep today - I've made a batch of broccoli soup which will be my lunches for the next few days, with double cream added. I have steamed salmon which I'll eat cold with a hard boiled egg and mayo for breakfast and I have batch cooked some lamb curry to go in the freezer as a contingency. Evening meals have been planned.
Good luck everyone
