Morning campers

As ever, here is the spreadsheet

So we start the second half of this Bootcamp.

I sense that things are quietening down a little on the threads, but I hope that doesn't reflect commitment and progress?

It's interesting to hear the chat about maintenance, and very positive that people are starting to realise that it might not be long before they have reached that stage.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit more positive @FusionChefGeoff

@NigellaAwesom - your cloakroom looks lovely. Love the need to provide for the cat as well Grin

@Moonswimmer and @venusandmars - sailing sounds, to me, like a week/weekend from hell! I'd rather do an SAS outward bound course than be stuck on a tiny boat worrying about how I might go to the loo!

@StuntNun - very impressed that you could just get up and run 2K without training for it! I've completed my C25K so I'm running now for 30 minutes at a time, but I know that I'm nowhere near 5K yet, and it took 9 weeks to reach this stage!

Very envious of you @Andi2020 - wish we were near a beach somewhere.

@ElasticFirecrackers those cheese things sound lovely. What kind of cheese is Maasdam?

@ListenLinda - what do you have in your fridge/freezer/cupboards? We can try and do some kind of 'ready steady cook' for you! Tonight we're going to have a stir-fry, with pork tenderloin and either egg-fried cauliflower rice, or a sort-of pho, using Bare Naked Noodles.

@BSky I'm afraid it's inevitable that too much wine won't help. Bloating is generally dealt with by drinking more water, but I'm sorry that you're having issues with that. If it doesn't resolve itself soon, and you're still having the abdominal ache, I'd get that checked out with your GP. Just to be on the safe side.

Busy next few days here - we're having our Christmas this weekend! Off to pick up SIL from Cardiff and BIL from Bath (DH's brother and sister) and bring them back to us - along with DS2 who will come and join us. So lots of prep work to do to keep us all fed and entertained.

Presents are under the 'tree'; all the beds now have Christmas bedding and we have a couple of Christmas candle ornaments on the mantlepiece as well as little stash of Christmas loo paper in the bathrooms Grin

(Oh, and plenty of Champagne and fizz in the fridge)

@ditavonteesed

Yeh I'm fine, was a bit shook up at the time, a dog went for my Dalmatian and she was on lead, she ran away very quickly and took me with her. Didn't have time to break my fall so used my face for the job. Amazing how many very British people walk past you and say morning in a totally normal way when you have blood dripping down your face. Ps don't copy ,y recipe it was minging.
That's very disappointing about the recipe. I love a good hack and whacking a babybel into some chicken was definitely up my street.

Glad you're OK, though. Don't think I could keep pace with a dalmatian either Grin

Bestbees · 17/05/2021 17:36

@ditavonteesed poor you!

FusionChefGeoff · 17/05/2021 17:49

@Andi2020 I am so jealous of your beach - I am in the midlands and about as far as you can get from a beach in this country.

@BIWI Happy Christmas!!!! What a wonderful idea, mouth watering menu and I hope you all have a throughly jolly time.

@nowlook thanks so much for the granola recipe especially seeing as it's very being offends you

@Rayna37 @venusandmars just booked camping for a months time so I'm in on the campervan cook book please!! We usually do lamb koftas, halloumi, grilled peppers / onions, tsatsiki and pitta - so that will be great just without the pitta

I'm clearing out a Thai curry kit tomorrow for
Chicken and then fajitas later but they're not very exciting - but very yummy!!!

And huge NSV for me just now.

Made a lovely spinach and cheese omelette with mushrooms in Worcestershire and cream and before I put it on the plate I cut it in half and let half on the board.

I do this occasionally.

Alll it means is I have seconds Blush

But not today!!!! I ate slowly, mindfully and am now full to the point where I know I will be greedy to have more and I've left it!!!!

I am however a bit frightened of how hard I find it to make toast / sandwiches for the kids - it's a ginormous very conscience effort not to launch into the bread but I've managed it so far!

devoncreamtea · 17/05/2021 17:53

Merry Christmas BIWI Glitterball

Well done on losses and NSV’s! I am up to 162 today. But back on the case after my gloomy weekend. Water is very tricky at school I’m finding. I am going to try to improve that.

Hope everyone has a good week! I will try to catch up - but usually do t get chance until the weekend. LFlowers for all though - you’re all so inspiring!

FusionChefGeoff · 17/05/2021 17:56

Oooo @nowlook there was a smiley after my comment above which has disappeared and it sounds quite snarky without it - I promise it's a joke!!!

No, it's fine, Fusion. Honestly.
nowlook · 17/05/2021 17:58

I'd somehow missed you were in the Midlands, though. East or West?

Rayna37 · 17/05/2021 18:09

NSV, not even particularly Bootcamp related but I'm so disproportionately pleased I'll share anyway: ordered/"won" some size 10 White Stuff cropped jeans from eBay and they've arrived and are great and actually fit! I'm not keen on shopping online even for returnable clothes so this is a big deal for me. Steps forward on my quest to buy no new (as opposed to new-to-me) clothes this year.

TheHoover · 17/05/2021 18:13

Merry Xmas BIWI! Thanks for the new thread and in general for being amazing.

Ouch Dita

TheHoover · 17/05/2021 18:15

Whoops posted too soon. Hope it becomes less painful quickly

Well done those who lost and for those KoKoing despite issues - AF visiting lots of folk; does the synchronising work in virtual circles too?

2lb down for me this week and....and....and..BMI is now 29.9 so I am no longer obese!!!

potas · 17/05/2021 18:21

Midweek I reached my target weight!! Then ended up putting that back on and an extra pound this week but I did transgress over the weekend so was expected and now I know I can get there, so very excited and happy.
Have finally managed to curb my peanut butter cravings but have developed a coleslaw addiction. Not great but more veg I suppose.

ElasticFirecracker · 17/05/2021 18:22

I haven't thought of a chicken recipe yet to share, but I'm roasting a chicken with half a lemon, half an onion and a whole bulb of garlic in its cavity.

I'm making roast potatoes, carrots (not for me) and cabbage broccoli and a whole roast mini cauliflower. Cauliflower is all for me.

Oh, well done Hoover!

I'm not sure about synchronising Grin, but I was pretty sure I was in peri before restarting BC in January. Since then, it's all gone back to pre-lockdown normality. Very weird.

Amazing! As pp have said, giving yourself that half stone window really helps. Bet you feel elated!
ditavonteesed · 17/05/2021 18:26

@TheHoover that's great I remember when I crossed that line it is such a huge one well done.

ditavonteesed · 17/05/2021 18:29

@potas well done on target that's amazing. I think having a window seems like such a good idea, your weight will never be static.

And @nowlook, thank you!
I feel in control. For now!
I've never had much success with diets but low carb has really changed my way of eating.

StuntNun · 17/05/2021 19:10

MrsKoala lots of bridge exercises for your butt and single leg bridges and pulses and all that malarkey.

prettybird · 17/05/2021 19:19

In bad news, my lovely Pilates teacher has decided, on reflection, not to re-start her classes in the studio in Glasgow even when restrictions are liftedShockSad. She'll continue them on Zoom and do the occasional small group class out where she lives (c40 minutes out of the city centre) or 1:1 on the equipment Sad

So if I want to have a "physical" class, I'll either have to change instructor or make a special trip across the city and into the country side. Plus we can no longer have coffee the most important bit with my lovely Pilates Pals (as our WhatsApp group us called) after the class Sad

To be fair, I've been going to Louise for over 20 years and she turned 60 2 years ago Shock so I can't blame her for prioritising quality of life.

We're trying to work out alternatives for coffee once we can meet up again SmileBrew

cheeseisthebest · 17/05/2021 19:24

Ouch dita and well done hoover!

nowlook · 17/05/2021 19:25

20 years?!
Can you not just take over the class @prettybird? Surely you've got the basic moves covered now.

prettybird · 17/05/2021 19:31

Dh did try something along those lines @nowlook : "Why did I need to continue to go to classes as surely I knew what to do by now?" Hmm

He got short shrift. Grin
