Morning campers

As ever, here is the spreadsheet

So we start the second half of this Bootcamp.

I sense that things are quietening down a little on the threads, but I hope that doesn't reflect commitment and progress?

It's interesting to hear the chat about maintenance, and very positive that people are starting to realise that it might not be long before they have reached that stage.

Glad to hear you're feeling a bit more positive @FusionChefGeoff

@NigellaAwesom - your cloakroom looks lovely. Love the need to provide for the cat as well Grin

@Moonswimmer and @venusandmars - sailing sounds, to me, like a week/weekend from hell! I'd rather do an SAS outward bound course than be stuck on a tiny boat worrying about how I might go to the loo!

@StuntNun - very impressed that you could just get up and run 2K without training for it! I've completed my C25K so I'm running now for 30 minutes at a time, but I know that I'm nowhere near 5K yet, and it took 9 weeks to reach this stage!

Very envious of you @Andi2020 - wish we were near a beach somewhere.

@ElasticFirecrackers those cheese things sound lovely. What kind of cheese is Maasdam?

@ListenLinda - what do you have in your fridge/freezer/cupboards? We can try and do some kind of 'ready steady cook' for you! Tonight we're going to have a stir-fry, with pork tenderloin and either egg-fried cauliflower rice, or a sort-of pho, using Bare Naked Noodles.

@BSky I'm afraid it's inevitable that too much wine won't help. Bloating is generally dealt with by drinking more water, but I'm sorry that you're having issues with that. If it doesn't resolve itself soon, and you're still having the abdominal ache, I'd get that checked out with your GP. Just to be on the safe side.

Busy next few days here - we're having our Christmas this weekend! Off to pick up SIL from Cardiff and BIL from Bath (DH's brother and sister) and bring them back to us - along with DS2 who will come and join us. So lots of prep work to do to keep us all fed and entertained.

Presents are under the 'tree'; all the beds now have Christmas bedding and we have a couple of Christmas candle ornaments on the mantlepiece as well as little stash of Christmas loo paper in the bathrooms Grin

(Oh, and plenty of Champagne and fizz in the fridge)

@MrsKoala

Sounds lovely. Beef Wellington is my death row meal. We had it this Christmas too, but I cheated and bought it from cook. Was still good tho (just no leftovers for cold breakfast the next day).
Also bought a Beef Wellington from Cook! I had had their beef bourguignon yesterday as a treat. A bit carbier than I'd normally go for at 12g, but lovely nonetheless.
BestIsWest · 17/05/2021 13:22

I’m going to nominate Nigella’s chicken with 40 cloves of garlic which we had last week.

You don’t eat all the garlic cloves, they’re just there for flavour. Well you could eat them I suppose but might be Carby. I jointed a whole chicken but the recipe suggests thighs.

BSky · 17/05/2021 14:21

@MrsKoala - that’s a good shout I might try pork mince for a change. Although one of my munchkins is a bit funny about mince. Might give turkey mince a whirl too.

@BIWI - Beef Wellington & sticky toffee pudding sounds delicious 😋
I’m sure you’re right about the wine I’ve probably crept up with that but still thinking I’ve been on plan. Bloating is better today but will keep an eye. I’m sure the bloating & lower ab ache is PMT. I am super tired today in a way that suggests my may AF arrive earlier than expected. Otherwise will get checked - thanks BIWI

venusandmars · 17/05/2021 14:22

@nowlook I might experiment with granola bars for the trip next week (although I doubt I can make 'bars' so it might be sticky granola balls with butter AND chocolate )

@Random789 wouldn't dare suggest that you might have washed your lycra too often and it's gone all baggy

My favourite chicken recipe is the Delia Chicken with sherry and tarragon but the old recipes don't give any carb counts, and it's got a lot of sherry in it...

@BIWI enjoy your Christmas! loving that you've forgotten what you bought, hope it wasn't gloves / hat / ski gear Smile or cheese Grin dd is coming to eat lunch in our house on Thursday Shock (first time for many months) so I might follow your example and make her Christmas dinner she'll cry

@prettybird it's a bugger! I had several good plans for today too, all thwarted Wink

@BIWI you get to know your friends quite well when you have to have a wee off the back of the boat! (easy for the penis bearing members of the crew, not so simple for those hanging on with one arm, oilskins around knees, waves slapping your arse) sort of Neanderthal bidet

@Rayna37 I've got a campervan cookbook but it's heavy on the pasta and beans. I think you and I should put together a low carb campervan cookbook - things you can keep and store easily and cook on 2 rings or fewer in a gale scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, frankfurter sausages with peppers and broccoli, and beef and mushroom stroganoff have been recent favourites.

@BSky thanks for the chicken and coconut curry - that sounds lovely.

@ several people the sailing holiday is not until week 8, so you'll all have to keep on joining in and posting if you want to see the photos Grin

@MrsKoala Laughing at the description of your pilates class. Thankyou for cheering me up.

PineappleSunglasses · 17/05/2021 14:27

No loss on weigh-in day but my weekly average shows a 1.5lbs loss since the average from the week before and I've also lost a cm from around my waist so I'm considering it a win.

Really looking forward to the return of gym classes starting with body combat tonight!

Hope you have a lovely xmas day @BIWI

All of this!! (I'm so lazy!)
Been looking at Joe wicks books, if you ignore his low fat rubbish and replace with full fat there are some really good low carb recipes. Will try and type out a few or take photos. Few nice salmon dishes.

cheeseisthebest · 17/05/2021 14:33

@nowlook I'm back up to 140lb but it's TOTM so not suprised. Feel exhausted today.

nowlook · 17/05/2021 14:37

I'm predicting a 135 for you either next week or the week after cheese Grin

cheeseisthebest · 17/05/2021 14:37

Loving your optimism!

LittleDoritt · 17/05/2021 14:48

Scales decided to go up a pound especially for weigh in day Angry

nowlook · 17/05/2021 14:53

I'm thinking of the same for my DP @venusandmars. My mum would definitely cry. Unfortunately, I'm also able to picture DH's face at the point I tell him I'm going to do it Confused Grin

We have to have a fake tree these days because of the dogs and it usually takes an age to put up. Still, an excuse for sherry.

Will there be Christmas music @BIWI?

Mine too 🤬 Infuriating!
Rayna37 · 17/05/2021 14:59

VenusandMars a low carb campervan cookbook would be awesome, if a bit niche maybe! I have the Martin Dorey one, might have a browse tonight actually. His beef chunk chilli is a real favourite. Mostly been browsing pubs as we're so excited to be allowed back in them!

BIWI · 17/05/2021 15:05

Oh yes, @nowlook! DH, who is very up for the idea of re-creating Christmas, did raise an eyebrow at that suggestion though, so I suspect it will be a bit of token Slade for about 10 minutes max Grin

MotherBuckets · 17/05/2021 15:22

Just checking in to get this on my threads. Up quite a bit today after a boozy weekend with way not enough water but have till Friday to wee it out and hopefully some more too.

venusandmars · 17/05/2021 15:27

@BIWI @nowlook at least the shops haven't cottoned on to the idea of Christmas music, so there won't have been wall-to-wall- months of it!

Trying to decide... shall I go for a walk or shall I finish tidying my office?

Covid10lbs · 17/05/2021 16:03

I was down 1lb yesterday. (Up 1.5 this morning but I'm ignoring Grin)
That's steady loss of 7lb overall, so happy to keep going.
Thanks for the maintenance tips Stuntnun. I was kinda doing that except I crept up during covid. I saw it happening, but I hadn't the headspace to address it.

nowlook · 17/05/2021 16:07

You'll get away with 2000 Miles @BIWI
(that's one of my favourites)
I met DH because he was pissed in a pub trying to lead everyone in song for the 12 Days of Christmas. He only knew 5 Gold Rings and a Partridge etc. Amateur.

ditavonteesed · 17/05/2021 16:19

Happy Christmas @BIWI
Hi @SittingontheSidelines welcome back, yes much harder to lose than to gain. Such a shame.
@Random789 excellent if not slightly embarrassing nav, I see a shopping trip in your future.
I'm a couple of pounds up but I both expected and deserved it, trying to switch myself into maintenance mode now but it's a hard psychological shift.
I have a couple of unexpected extra days off work due to falling over and breaking my nose at the weekend. I can't put a mask on which should curb my shopping but means I can't work.
I am trying a chicken thing tonight, I stuffed chicken thigh with baby bel and wrapped in bacon. Going to have it with mushroom and courgettes fried in garlic butter.

nowlook · 17/05/2021 16:33

Crikey dita! Just casually slipping in that you've broken your nose. Are you OK? Flowers

ditavonteesed · 17/05/2021 16:42

Yeh I'm fine, was a bit shook up at the time, a dog went for my Dalmatian and she was on lead, she ran away very quickly and took me with her. Didn't have time to break my fall so used my face for the job. Amazing how many very British people walk past you and say morning in a totally normal way when you have blood dripping down your face.
Ps don't copy ,y recipe it was minging.

MrsKoala · 17/05/2021 16:44

@cheeseisthebest I quite like Joe’s recipes too. What I especially like about them is they have a proper portion of meat/protein rather than some others like Jamie Oliver that I have to double the quantity of.

Bestbees · 17/05/2021 16:44

@Rayna37 @venusandmars yes please to the camping cookbook. I have a week camping with extended family and no electric hook up for a week in August. Suspect it will be bbq everyday

BIWI · 17/05/2021 16:53

Shock @ditavonteesed! That sounds horrific. Are you in pain? Will you look like a boxer when it's healed?!

OP posts:
ditavonteesed · 17/05/2021 16:56

@BIWI I like to think I'll look more like a pirate, in seriousness I don't think it's wonky although dd reckons it is, I've got an appointment next week at ent to see if it needs fixing.
