Seriously low carb bread

Has anyone tried this, it seems almost too good to be true 0.9g carbs in a slice and 2.9g in a roll?

I have ordered some but delivery is taking 6 - 7 days!

I ordered the bread and rolls last week on the strength of this thread. Just arrived and I have already had one of the rolls as a very early lunch with butter and brie. Just amazing. Looks, smells and tastes like normal bread, but more filling. If this really is as low carb as they say then it's an absolute game-changer for me. I've been low-carbing on and off for about ten years but bread ( rather than pasta or sweet things) has always been my downfall, and it's got harder as I've got older (in my 50s). I might not have it every day, but I think just knowing I can have a sandwich or a piece of toast if I want it really helps.

RoundedTum · 01/03/2021 12:36

I had some bread (sliced loaf) delivered by the low carb food company last week.

Not impressed tbh. It tastes of nothing much, just v salty. And every time I've had a slice (toasted) I've felt a bit queasy.

I did get an email from the company saying they'd changed the recipe and it now contains egg so maybe that's affected the taste?

Anyway, won't be buying that bread again!

Thecazelets · 01/03/2021 13:01

Mine was from Seriously Low Carb Food - not sure if that's the same?

PoppityPop · 01/03/2021 13:29

I ordered from both the Seriously Low Carb Food Co and the Low Carb Food Company.

Only the former has arrived and the delivery is really quick. The low carb food company has ridiculously slow delivery as they only send out orders on one day a week (Wednesday). You also have to order before midnight on Sunday for that delivery (so no good if you haven’t planned ahead).

So..... so far I have only had the bread from the seriously low-carb food company and I love it. The sizes are quite small and the bread is very light, a bit like a Nimble or WW loaf. However, the taste is great and I wouldn’t know that it was any different from normal bread. When it’s toasted there is a slight odour for a few seconds after you take out from the toaster, but as nobody else has mentioned this on this thread, perhaps it’s just me.

RoundedTum · 01/03/2021 14:03

I think I'll give the Seriously low carb food co a go instead.

Does their bread taste 'eggy'? I don't really like eggs so that would put me right off!

Thecazelets · 01/03/2021 15:06

Not eggy at all. I've only tried the rolls as I put the loaves straight into the freezer, but I assume they're the same recipe.

PoppityPop · 01/03/2021 17:14

I also don’t think it’s eggy.

superstar63 · 05/03/2021 13:33

Has anyone tried the rolls from low carb food co.?

I have had them from seriously low carb and they are quite good but just wondering if the others are better as they seem lower in carbs and also the bread. Thinking of ordering a loaf of the seeded bread to try although its expensive at £7.25

I haven’t tried the rolls but their bread is delicious.

PoppityPop · 05/03/2021 14:46

This is the loaf I ordered.

The slides are very small but it’s denser than the Seriously Low Carb Food Co bread. Just remember to order before midnight on Sunday to get your delivery that week.

PoppityPop · 05/03/2021 14:47

*slices!

superstar63 · 06/03/2021 09:55

Thank you, I think I will try it as I do like the seriously low carb rolls and bread and this one is a bit less in carbs.

I’m really keen to try the bread and brownies, but I’m really worried I’ll ‘fall off the wagon’ as I’m only 2 weeks in to Keto and doing well for a sugar addict. Maybe I’ll just wait a few months! Or maybe I’m being too cautious if it’s the carbs that cause me to crave bread, crisps and chocolate constantly.

MrsFionaCharming · 10/03/2021 19:13

Mine arrived today!

I had a BLT with the bread, it was actual heaven.

DH and I split a hot cross bun (7.7g carb per bun) and were a bit underwhelmed.

I’ll be ordering the bread again, and possibly the dough mix to try making pizza.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 13/03/2021 14:04

Photo attached of the spoils from the Low Carb Food Co. Important note - don’t buy the cheese crisps, they are ridiculously overpriced for the size...

However, the bread is lovely. Denser than that of the Seriously Low Carb one, which I much prefer - theirs is too light and insubstantial for me. I can toast a slice of this one, lather it with butter and a mashed up poached egg and then lift it in one piece with it keeping its form - the Seriously Low Carb ones just folded under the strain.

And I love the fact that these have seeds in them - so much nicer and like the breads I used to eat previously.

I also can’t taste the egg, it just tastes like bread to me 🥖

💯 will re-order.

Just got my order from Low Carb Food Co. and the bread is much nicer than Seriously Low Carb as that one can be a bit tough/chewy. Not tried the rolls yet and they are smaller than Seriously Low Carb but look forward to them too.

bought the seriously low carb rolls on the basis of this thread - quite expensive at £3.29 for 4 plus postage but they ae low carb and low cal and will buy again.

I also bought the lo dough pizza bases which are 40 cals per base and £3.25 for 2 plus shipping. They are a bit thicker than a wrap but you could use them as a wrap too . I've already ordered more.

I don't understand the nutrition information for the bread for neither Seriously Low Carb nor Low Carb Food Co - don't they count the calories from fibre?

lowcarbfood.co/shop/low-carb-bread-sliced-loaf-400g/

seriouslylowcarb.com/collections/seriously-low-carb-food/products/the-low-carb-loaf - no fibre mentioned (despite the flax seed) but the calories don't make sense anyway.

What am I not understanding, please?
