Seriously low carb bread

superstar63 · 08/10/2020 14:23

Has anyone tried this, it seems almost too good to be true 0.9g carbs in a slice and 2.9g in a roll?

I have ordered some but delivery is taking 6 - 7 days!

@Redlocks28 2.7g per roll, 0.9g per slice of bread

Okbutnotgreat · 01/11/2020 22:44

I don’t think so I’ve not eaten anything new at all. I will omit them for a few days then to see if it helps. I did wonder if it could be the wheat gluten but was very hopeful that as the carbs are still low, I’d get away with it.

Okbutnotgreat · 01/11/2020 22:45

Maybe a weekly treat rather than a daily item for me.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 02/11/2020 00:04

@superstar63 I'm on my 2nd order, been having egg on toast, bacon egg on toast and salad sandwiches most days and I've still lost 7lb this week. It hasn't affected my weight loss at all since I first bought it. Could it just be daily fluctuations? Or something else you've eaten

superstar63 · 02/11/2020 09:16

*@BuffyTheBuffetSlayer I really think it was just daily fluctuations that happen for no good reason.

I stayed away from the rolls for a couple of days but have since had them with pate and put in the oven to make them crispy ( little bit like melba toast but not as crispy or thin) and had with camembert. Also tuna with coleslaw.

They are an absolute game changer for me and I am so happy with them but only have about 5lbs to go to target so it is very slow and I am happy with that.

I love Seriously low carb bread! I find the rolls a bit too big, but other than that I love the rolls too. I’ve been eating two slices a day toasted for breakfast and they don’t seem to have affected my weight loss at all. Now making a list of all the lovely sandwiches/toasties I can have again!!!

Pertella · 05/11/2020 18:16

My second batch arrived today. I had a roast beef and horseradish roll for lunch.

It was amaaaaaaaaaazing 🤣

Okbutnotgreat · 07/11/2020 19:58

I am sooooo jealous! I can’t think of anything else that it could be and I’ve lost a couple of pounds since I stopped eating it.

MrsKoala · 12/11/2020 18:19

Oh oh oh I’m so excited about this thread. I started reading it and got faster scrolling thru, then came the pictures and I nearly burst with excitement. I’m going to order some right now. This will make such a huge difference to weekends - we always go on long walks with picnics and sitting on the edge of a log or standing leaning against a tree eating a Tupperware of salad while everyone else has a sandwich or sausage roll really doesn’t cut it. I can now have a portable, easy to eat sandwich!

BIWI · 12/11/2020 18:49

They are truly amazing, @MrsKoala. The only issue is the expense!

MrsKoala · 12/11/2020 19:21

I know! I just spent over a tenner on a loaf of bread and 4 rolls. But if I have one roll every weekend for lunch and the odd sandwich/toast it’ll last me a month.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 12/11/2020 19:49

@MrsKoala My salad sandwich! Well worth the expense!
@superstar63 it would be for me as I'm doing pure paleo not necessarily low carb, so oats and syrup would be way off limits.
I just always check these things out in the naive hope that one day there will be a grain free bread.

I think Lo dough is made from the stuff Konjac noodles are made of, so basically a tasteless plant root that's almost entirely indigestible.

This is the nicest bread sub I've ever found, I made some last night with sundried tomatoes and olives, and am making one today with walnuts and prunes. I do tend to slice and freeze though as it can be quite Cal heavy. (Per 100g = 12g protein, 23g fat, 8g carbs)
Where does that recipe come from please? It looks good and I would like to try it out, but I can't see the ingredients!

superstar63 · 12/11/2020 20:32

I had a burger tonight in a roll with fried shallots and a little bit of sauce from a jar of picalilli - OMG it was the best thing I have had for a long, long time!

The bread and rolls bring so much more variety to this way of eating. I could live on sandwiches at the best of times and have not missed them that much but am really enjoying this new string to my bow!

They don't seem to stop me losing although that is very slow as `i only have about 4lbs to go now and will soon be maintaining.

Ooooohhh @BuffyTheBuffetSlayer you are teasing me! I keep going back and looking at all the pics on this thread and getting more excited about my delivery (I’m a saddo).

MissAHannigan · 13/11/2020 13:33

I had a bacon and egg banjo for lunch 😋

I'm limiting myself to 2 rolls a week dont want to get too much of a 'bread habit going (plus I cant afford to keep buying too many 🤣)

BIWI · 24/11/2020 22:13

Well my delivery arrived today - I ordered three packs of rolls via Amazon (as I have Prime, delivery is free). They were supposed to arrive yesterday, so were late.

When I opened the box, all I could see was green mould Envy

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 24/11/2020 23:13

That's the use by date my mouldy loaves had so does sounds like it was a bad batch. I was impressed by their swift response to my email though and my new loaves arrived yesterday in perfect condition. Not going to lie, I was gutted I had to wait longer to have bacon on toast Grin
I have still yet to try their rolls!

Pleaseandthankyou · 28/11/2020 08:36

I have just received my first order. It came within 3 days and it was very fresh. It smells differently but if it doesn’t cause a weight gain it will be fantastic. Thanks to the OP for making we aware of it

felippertyfeck · 28/11/2020 14:16

Tried the bread this week. Marmite and butter on toast, omg! I haven’t eaten bread since May and I was seriously close to falling off the wagon a few times recently when the smell of toast wafted through from kids breakfast! My weight is stable but not moving down but I’m hanging in there with woe as there are definitely other benefits I’m getting. I just need to have a few of these low carb options so I don’t feel like the odd one out and I can keep it up until weight loss starts again 🤞thank you OP this is a potential game changer for me too 😊

Howshouldibehave · 31/01/2021 10:09

Apologies for reviving an old thread-but how long do these bread rolls last-do they stay fresh? And is postage really expensive?

StuntNun · 02/02/2021 11:33

I keep them in the freezer so they last for ages. Postage is £3-4.

PolaDeVeboise · 03/02/2021 14:15

Hi all. I'm tentatively sticking my toe back into the lc water and currently weighing up (if you'll pardon the pun) my options. Was very interested when I saw this thread, however, I note the bread contains palm fats, and I'm concerned about that. I have, however, seen 'The Low Carb Food Company' do a loaf without it - have any of you tried it?

StuntNun · 04/02/2021 12:28

Here's another alternative bread that was shared on the Bootcamp thread: https://lowcarbfood.co/shop/low-carb-sliced-loaf/
They sell a seeded bloomer as well which looks nice.

PolaDeVeboise · 04/02/2021 17:28

Thanks. That's the one I was asking about, I'll go for that.
