Hi everyone
I'm a very long time lurker, and this is the first thread I've ever posted on. I might venture into the Bootcamp thread at some point!
I've extensively tried the low carb bread from both the Seriously Low-Carb Food Co (loaf A) and the [[www.lowcarbfood.co/shop/low-carb-sliced-loaf/
Low-Carb Food Co]] (loaf B). This is my experience:
Loaf A - Has a slight eggy taste, texture is chewier (no crumbs). This is the loaf I tried first, and I loved it. It really helped me through the periods when my carb cravings were at their highest. I've also tried their rolls, which are also very good and very filling. I didn't think it would get any better than this.
Loaf B - no eggy taste (as it doesn't contain eggs!), it's not as chewy, and the texture is more similar to "normal" bread. It probably has less of a "bready" flavour, than Loaf A, but there's very little in it.
All in all, I think Loaf B (Low-Carb Food Co) will be the one I will buy going forwards, even though it's more expensive than Loaf A (and both are NOT cheap!). The ingredients list for Loaf B is far shorter and seems cleaner than for Loaf A, with fewer preservatives. I also felt better after eating Loaf B - can't really explain why, maybe it's to do with the ingredients list.
It's a shame that the Low-Carb Food Co don't do rolls as well. I'm also a fan of the Seriously Low-Carb chocolate brownies, which I know has had mixed reviews from Mumsnetters.
I also bought the Low-Carb Food Co flour. God knows why, as I am the world's worst baker. I will try making pizza dough, and if anyone has any recipes, that would be really helpful.
