Looks like we are going to need a wee Week 1 Spillover thread, before I start the Week 2 thread on Monday.

Here's the link to the original thread:

.....lots of great advice and support on it. Smile We are all in this together.

Here is the link to the

Actually part 1 of that article is pretty good too
paleoforwomen.com/the-physiology-of-womens-weight-loss-part-i-estrogen/

-tootles off to find part three-

TheSeasonOfTheWitch · 14/01/2018 20:12

Ahh, there is no part 3...

BadlyParkedRangeRover · 14/01/2018 20:12

I'll be back to LCHF tomorrow after being a flu ridden carby twat!

ThunderboltsLightning · 14/01/2018 20:26

I would just like to acknowledge how nice it feels to have got to end of this week, especially the weekend feeling proud of myself for sticking to this woe. I have spent many Sunday nights resolving to behave (starve) myself the following week in repentance for over indulgence. Not this week.

I'm weighing in tomorrow. I'm interested to find out where i amz. I would never normally weigh on a Monday as i'd be feeling too guilty from the weekend.

This feels different. It feels good Smile

ilovecherries · 14/01/2018 20:33

ButterMint tea. I despise most fruit/herbal teas. But this one is very nice. I am going to add it to my stash of Beanies coffees as another no-carb treat.

RaindropsAndSparkles · 14/01/2018 20:40

I have been good all weekend. They hađ berry meringue roulade for pud. Oh dear Sad

SayrraT · 14/01/2018 21:14

I've had a great day, visited the gallops with my horse again, he was ace. Top speed this week was 29.2 mph Grin

Then I went and collected an HP Sprocket (mini wireless printer) I was buying, I love it.

Food has not been great, all low carb but not ideal, not enough veggies (none in fact Sad). I hadn't taken any veg with me and its hard to eat on the go, left house at 0730 and that's me just in.

Food:

coffee with cream, egg (x2) in a cup, pork scratchings, mini cheese, lindt ball, 3x chicken thighs

That's bad!!!

intelligentPutty · 14/01/2018 21:55

Thanks stuntnun
I took my first prenatal vitamin after dinner tonight. Kept off the electrolyte pills in case that's all too much.
Will KOKO and read the 'light' properly tomorrow.

Mimosa1 · 14/01/2018 22:31

Ocado is now selling CELERIAC RICE! I've yet try it but v v excited. I let myself down this week, after a late start, through not having the right sort of food in the house. I've now done a massive shop, DH and I have got rid of all the Christmas sweets, etc. Left over and I feel ready to get back in the zone. DH, who loves any excuse to buy gadgets, has come home with a v v fancy scale that measures your body fat (and hydration level - how?!). Looking forward to a new start tomorrow.

Twoo · 14/01/2018 22:34

I’m really pleased I’ve stook to plan all week. Today I cooked DH a game and ale pie with puff pastry. Not one morsel pasted my lips.

Today’s meals ended up as follows:-

B - 3Eggs, Mayo, Parmesan. Coffee with cream.

L - Salad leaves. Cucumber. FF yoghurt with a drizzle I’d fresh cream.

D - Cauliflower cheese & buttered kale.

Water

prettybird · 14/01/2018 22:39

Sounds like you had a great day SayrraT . I always struggle with veg on long days out. But at least you kept HFLC and didn't descend into carby twatdom.

I'm really proud of a friend of mine who is doing Boot Camp: he went to Dublin on a rugby day out and stayed true to Boot Camp all day - not a drop of Guiness passed his lips so I'm told : he even checked that the frittata he had for dinner was ok I'll gloss over the peas that he ate before remembering He then coped with a stressful return trip (as in, he's having an unscheduled extra night in Dublin Shock) and hasn't succumbed.

He deserves a Star - especially as his team got thrashed after he went to all the trouble to travel to support them.

Good for resisting the berry roulade Raindrops Smile.

Thunderbolts - I'm sure you don't need luck for tomorrow - whether or not you've lost weight, you've already won as you're in the Zone.

I'm not actually sure I will have lost much (daily weighs suggest not) - but then I think I had my "whoosh" of Christmas weight gain the week before.

MumOfAPickle · 14/01/2018 23:11

Stuck to the plan today
B: bacon, egg & sprouts
L: chicken paprikash with rocket
D: beef casserole with cauliflower &a green beans (are these ok? I think they're not on the spreadsheet but others have said yes?)
S: NONE!! Absolutely none! Diddly squat. I cannot remember the last time I went a day without snacking between meals, I'm not sure it's ever happened in my adult life actually....

Excited to weigh in tomorrow but trying not to get my hopes too high. I will concentrate on the fact that I have changed my eating habits massively and stuck to it all week Smile

JingsMahBucket · 14/01/2018 23:24

Oooh, a bright shiny new thread. I've been lazy and couch lounging all day.

B: nothing because I was lazy in bed.
L: smoked salmon, shallots & cream cheese
D: sausages and sautéed eggplant, a few tomatoes and some red pesto. I grated parmesan over it.
S: slices of parmesan.

I should meal plan for the week tomorrow. What are others making this week?

Alwaysinmyheart · 14/01/2018 23:24

This looks like a good recipe, coconut and lime chicken!

www.asaucykitchen.com/coconut-lime-chicken/

Alwaysinmyheart · 14/01/2018 23:26

MumOfAPickle, yes green beans are ok!

Alwaysinmyheart · 14/01/2018 23:32

Just a few bits of info for pp who have never done this WOE before:

The original Atkins diet book has lots of really useful info, about why this works, case studies from pp who lost a lot of weight, what you can and can’t eat, and some good recipes

Pinterest also has some good recipes, although it tends to be called keto on there

A lot of recipes online are American and especially for baking, they measure in cups. It’s worth buying a set of cups to get the amounts accurate, makes it much easier than trying to convert!

prettybird · 14/01/2018 23:37

MumOfAPickle - well done on the no snacks. It's something I struggle with while getting back into the Zone. Green beans are ok: 4g iirc.

Have you measured yourself? Remember, that is as much an indicator of success as the scales - which will move Smile

Twoo - you deserve a Star for sticking with it and remaining positive.

Jings - I posted up my menus (at least the meat part) for the week, either earlier in this thread or late in the last one.

I managed the restaurant meal, had (massive) cauliflower cheese with broccoli and swede. Resisted dessert and drank black coffee.
Dinner was leftover celeriac rosti with chorizo and feta.
Loads of water and black coffee. Hopeful for a good weigh in tomorrow.
I have my year 2 practical assessment tomorrow and if I pass I'm going shopping for a new outfit Wink

Well done everyone who's stuck (or stook , I may adopt this word Twoo) to plan this weekend.

CointreauVersial · 15/01/2018 00:29

Another day ticked off.....

B/L: frittata, made with a hot smoked salmon fillet, eggs, cream and parmesan. Mmm...
S: Roast beef, with cauli mash and broccoli

YoLoHogwomanay · 15/01/2018 01:04

hey all.

huge congratulations to putty another bootcamp baby! A Puttini?

good luck tomorrow ragz

this weekend I made loads of pork crackling. I may have become addicted and eaten half a pigskin Xmas Shock

Sayrra that lindt ball didn't get past me! Grin

I also had a few aberrations with little tastes of other people's puddings. don't know where the 'fuck it' attitude came from. on the good side, I seem to have learned maintenance! No scales moving for me this week but next week I will be better.

hormones a bit crazy. I found my week off at Xmas delayed my period by two weeks. it of course started as soon as BC did Hmm.

I have also learned that a tiny spoon worth (like less than half a biscuit) of wheat gives me the raging farts. never knew I was intolerant before.

Snowysnowysnow · 15/01/2018 02:53

Rather depressed with weighin today. I've lost 100g since last week. I started the previous Saturday and have lost 1.6kg since then. I haven't been cheating though! I'm due my period and usually put on about 1kg in the lead up to that so clinging to hope that's the issue.

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 15/01/2018 05:16

Yesterday’s food:

B creamy coffee
S chicken tikka fillet and cucumber
L belly pork
S ff Greek yoghurt
D roast chicken, broccoli, French beans and a spoonful of gravy

Nervous about this morning’s weigh in. I have lost weight since last week but am worried that I have put it on since yesterday. Which is silly - I need to focus on the big picture :)

JingsMahBucket · 15/01/2018 06:20

Snowysnowysnow my period also started yesterday and I could feel my weight loss slowing down a few days prior. Don’t worry, it’s not either of our faults but just the way our bodies react to different elements. Let’s keep pushing through and see how we do during the week. :)

JingsMahBucket · 15/01/2018 06:22

Same thing for me as I told Snowy above. I was doing grand until Thursday and leveled out and even put some grams back on. I just have to think long term and plan my meals better. :) If iam able to lose 2lbs a week for the next 10 weeks that would 20lbs and that would be freaking grand!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 15/01/2018 06:32

Exactly jings. On which note I am going to stop fretting and go and get on the scales and into the shower!
