Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

C4. Sounds scary but it'll be ok.
Wiltshire? Is there a namaste bitch within emergency double cream delivering distance?

ragz134 · 21/06/2017 07:01

c4 how about emergency nuts and babybel on the bedside table? Things that don't need fridge but have plenty of calories...
Hope it goes okay, we will all be here for support and encouragement.

OldBooks · 21/06/2017 07:16

C4 I think you said you were Midlands before? I'm Notts if that's any good?

I am so hungry today! And exhausted, I am late for work as I fell back to sleep after turning off alarm Blush I might slightly up the carbs today (through veg obvs) to see if that helps. And I need to up my fats today too.

BIWI · 21/06/2017 07:41

YoLo - re portion sizes: no-one can really guide you because we don't know what your appetite is like. The key thing is to eat when you're hungry - but don't overeat. There's no need for massive portions if you're not hungry. And similarly, there's no need to starve or deprive yourself if you're hungry. As long as you stick to the rules, and you're eating low carb, then use your own appetite as a measure.

Kleptronic · 21/06/2017 07:42

You can do it c4. I'm in Liverpool if that's any good.

Kleptronic · 21/06/2017 07:46

I'm glad you said that BIWI cos I had about 2000 cals yesterday, all low carb. Steak, cauli cheese and creme fraiche, coconut bread and pate, boiled eggs, butter, oh the butter, swede fries, fried egg...I was on a mission!

NamelessEnsign · 21/06/2017 07:47

C4 it sounds like a tough day. We're help to help you KOKO. Flowers

Those of you who are adding in IF, are you doing it every day? I seem to manage on work mornings but today I woke up feeling really hungry. In the spirit of BC advice, I ate yoghurt with a few walnuts, since I was actively hungry.

Kleptronic · 21/06/2017 07:49

Creamy pepper sauce. I forgot the creamy pepper sauce.

wombattoo · 21/06/2017 08:02

Nameless I think the advice re IF is to try do it 3 times a week?
C4 I'm in Yorkshire if I can assist?

boatgirl81 · 21/06/2017 08:05

C4, I am near Leamington Spa, more than happy to help xx

Going well here, as mentioned before had a lapse over my husbands birthday and no word of a lie took me over 2 weeks to get back into the swing of things. Really makes me feel committed because even a tiny slip up is not easy to get past. Have hit 2 stone off since January and to get my bmi under 25 then I need to lose another 2 stone, so am half way through my journey in terms of weight but have a feeling it will be much longer in terms of time!

NamelessEnsign · 21/06/2017 08:08

wombat thanks! I typically do it on my four work days as it makes mornings faster. I have no idea if it is scientifically accurate but I like the idea of keeping my body guessing with IF Smile.

wombattoo · 21/06/2017 08:15

Nameless Some of our boot camp posters are running an IF thread. I'll try and link it

wombattoo · 21/06/2017 08:17

IF thread

StuntNun · 21/06/2017 08:17

GoodBoy try some bovril or stock to make sure your electrolytes are okay. In this heat I've been feeling drained but bone broth sorts me out.

StuntNun · 21/06/2017 08:18

Erm that should have been GoodBad! I blame autocorrect.

Veryflummoxed · 21/06/2017 08:22

Hi Nameless. I'm on the IF thread (sorry dont know how to link but it's listed under the bootcamp topic). Lots of very good advise from Stuntnun who recommends a minimum of three fasts a week. I am led by my appetite as are most of us I think, but we all appear to be finding it easier than expected.

C4pinkwheels · 21/06/2017 08:50

You lot are fab, DH is brill most of the time but he's an engineer and that means if there isn't an instruction manual for it then he wouldn't even think of it. He worked until 8:45pm last night then DSS turned up here which basically meant I got ignored all evening, had to cook my own dinner and so no time to ask him to get anything ready for me. He left at 4:30am, DS is great but he's currently working in 46 degree heat in a professional kitchen and looks awful, he gets home after 11:00pm and just wants a long cold shower something to eat and then flops into bed, at 9:00am the next morning he leaves the house and it all starts again. DIL will help, she is around a bit more but is a bit of a princess and is just beginning to realise that the world doesn't revolve around her, she only eats a very limited diet and can't cook.
But like I said I've been here before, just not this soon after surgery and never when I've been this incapacitated.
Thank you all for offering to come and rescue me, I really wish I'd discovered the sisterhood seven years ago when I really needed it, I stumbled across it just before my surgery in March and it kept me amused, shocked and interested during my recovery, I joined boot camp and the rest is history.
OLD you win I'm in Derby and will be at the QMC today for the hot plastic torture treatment.
I've overslept, and it's going to be very very hot so when you are thinking you are too hot, think of me and my DS and all the other chefs who don't moan and just get on with doing their thing.

I took a photo of myself yesterday with the intention of posting it so that you can see the reality, not quite plucked up the courage.

Survived my birthday intact. Actually Frankie and Benny's was pretty good for LC - I had a lovely tomato, mozzarella and basil salad from their gluten free menu to start and a really tasty steak salad with pumpkin seeds for the main, switching the chilli dressing to olive oil. I also had a brandy coffee with cream while everyone else tucked into waffles and cheesecake without an ounce of deprivation.

DH and I then sat in the garden drinking a few gin and slims as it was such a lovely evening. All in all, not too bad for a day I'd usually use as a perfect excuse to throw in the towel.

Today's plan;
B: going to have some flax bread with pate and butter in a little while
L: Salmon in parma ham with salad, mayo and oily dressing
D: Sausages, swede mashed with butter, cauli cheese

CaptainBraandPants · 21/06/2017 08:53

C4 I know you are Mids as we've waved before. Like OldBook, I am Notts, but I think you may be more West? Happy to pop in tomorrow if you are near. Although I am now going over the logistics in my mind as I am an over thinker. Won't want you to have to get out of bed to let me in as that is obviously a struggle, but I can't imagine you would want to leave a key under a flower pot for a stranger, even if I am one of your bitches.Grin
littlebillie I think your post was lost. What is the problem? How can we help motivate you?
Nameless Agree with Very, come and join us on the IF thread if you are interested.

So, I ache today, but it's a good ache. Not had DOMS for a while and it makes me realise I need to exercise more. Didn't do the 7 MWC again this morning as DS3 is still up in the night coughing and wheezing and I'm knackered. Plus, tbh, I'm not a morning exercise person, I much prefer to exercise in the afternoon/ evening so maybe I should just accept that.

Today's food:
B: black coffee
L: leftover garlic butter chicken in bacon with salad
D: creamy fish and broccoli casserole and spring greens
S: creamy coffee

ChesterDrawers · 21/06/2017 08:53

Crossposted with you there C4 nothing more to add that's not already been said but I am once again astounded at your amazing attitude Flowers I'm too far away to offer assistance but we'll all be with you in spirit and online too when you need company.

JiminnyCricket · 21/06/2017 08:57

Morning!

Well my 6:30 spin class was HARD. My PT reckons I'm very much not a morning person and will do better with evening workouts especially since I'm combining with 16:8 fasting now too. She's swapped my spin sessions from 6:30 wednesdays to 18:30 mondays instead, so my schedule is now:

(all gym sessions are 30 mins)
Monday 18:30: Spin
Tuesday: 3k-5k dog walking
Wednesday 18:30: Hell Class (Strength circuit training)
Thursday: 3k - 5k dog walking
Friday: 17:30 Hell Class
Saturday: 5k - 10k Dog walk
Sunday - 5k - 10k Dog walk

1-2 50 minute yoga sessions a week.

I couldnt stand and pedal to begin with at all, my coordination was wrong somehow and my legs wouldnt support my weight. By the end of the class though I could stand and pedal for short periods and was keeping pace with my PT on the fast HIIT, sitting down bits.

However, I'm currently now starving hungry, tired and have that weak feeling in my legs and arms that you get before it goes achey Sad

I'm only 12 hours in to my 16 hour fast, god only knows how I'm going to get to 1pm on black coffee and water Sad

If it wasnt for the gym high/ buzz I've got at the moment I'd have dived head first into the doughnuts the office have kindly provided today Hmm

I've also got Yoga today at 12:30 and again on Friday lunchtime..

I'm feeling really overwhelmed and a bit rubbish and self destructive and I'm not sure what to do Sad

Help?

CaptainBraandPants · 21/06/2017 08:58

Ah, C4, cross post. Derby is a bit far to pop over in my lunchtime, but we could maybe have a BC visit another day? Alternatively, if you ever feel up to it, a Costa at QMC when you are visiting could work. I was at QMC for a meeting yesterday and I always have to stop off at the Costa for a coffee.
Chester sounds like you had a lovely birthday, with the right balance of having a bit of a treat without derailing completely. DS2 is going to be a teenager at teh weekend and as frankie and Benny's is one of his favourites, we may very well end up there.

ASDismynormality · 21/06/2017 08:59

jiminny. In all honesty I wouldn't fast after this morning, have a good low carb breakfast.

JiminnyCricket · 21/06/2017 09:00

C4 you're in Derby??

I'm in Leek!

Do you need anything this week? I'm at work but I can get to you in the evenings for double cream and namaste deliveries? Grin

I'm also free all weekend if your DH isn't back by then to come and keep you company?

Just let me know, Derby is really easy for me to get to :)

CaptainBraandPants · 21/06/2017 09:02

Another cross post.
Jiminny my biggest suggestion is EAT NOW, but not the doughnuts. You don't need to fast every day and you obviously need it after your hard session this morning. there is no point making life harder for yourself. as you aren't dooing a morning sassion again, you won't run into this problem again.
Be kind yo yourself, you are pushing yourself really hard. Flowers
