Other things i stock up on: butter, olive oil, block cheese (often grated to go in the freezer and babybels!), soft cheese, frozen spinach, avocados, broccolli, cucumber, celery, tuna in oil, lc sausages, bacon, belly pork.

OH MY GOODNESS I just ate a bag of pork scratchings (bought from the butcher) and then googled the fat/calorie content. 700 calories in 100g of pork scratchings apparently!!

Have I just ruined everything?!! Or does it not matter because they are no-carb?

Ignore calories. LCHF way of eating does not involve counting calories. I eat pork scratchings all the time

Pork scratchings are excellent! If you bought them from the butcher then they won't have the additives which some shop bought ones can have Smile

Ha, yep, I googled 'low carb breakfasts' trying to get some ideas and it was all basically - Eggs. Omelette/scrambled/frittata/baked/poached. All the eggs.

I try to log my food on MFP but I only look at the macro split so I know I'm on track. I find it difficult to track when doing LCHF as lots of meals are made from scratch and include a bit of this and a bit of that which isn't easily measurable

I'm in, again. I started again on Saturday and am feeling the benefits already, although was a bit carb fluey yesterday/ this morning.
I am contemplating not weighing, so may post on the thread but leave my weight off. Hmm ,we'll see.

I think I'm eating more rubbish than normal this week, too. Partly it's because I'm using up the carby stuff from the cupboards, so there's been lots of pasta and rice.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to read the whole thread! On this thread as well as all the other Bootcamp threads people post lots of good advice. If you only just jump on the thread to post your own stuff, you'll miss it.

I've already posted a whole load of stuff about preparing for Bootcamp on this thread, so scroll back and you'll find that.

The key to it is to be prepared, and also to do some reading, so you understand the science behind it.

All those of you who will insist on using MPF Grin, just a word of caution.

It's an American site, as well as one based on other members inputting information. So the carb counts may not be right (Americans include fibre in their carb counts, whereas we don't), and the information supplied by other members may not be accurate.

If you follow Bootcamp rules you really don't need to use it!

Hello, I'd like to join. I've just started low carbing after some advice elsewhere on MN. I have 3 stone to lose. Massive issues with carb/sugar addiction and binge eating but I started LC on Saturday and so far I'm doing well! I'm already inspired to try some more recipes.
