I would like to join please.

This will be first Bootcamp and I am fired up and motivated!
I have struggled with Slimming World as it's almost impossible to avoid living on carbs, especially as a vegetarian.
I have started eating low carb, and am on day two but am not completely sure what I am doing so some support would be great.

I flirted with Dukan ages ago. But the thing that put me off is that it's not like 'real' eating. What I tried to build into Bootcamp is a way of eating that feels normal - no need for specific foods, just enjoying good, natural, easy to buy and source food.

Oh, and I came across this article today which suggests that consuming artificial sweeteners during pregnancy can lead to overweight babies

No-one really seems to know why, but it's a really interesting finding.

Be prepared for things to slow/stop altogether over the next couple of weeks. It's a very well recognised phenomenon with low carbing. Stick with it (because you've proved it works) and things will get moving again around week 5 - albeit more slowly after that. But what a great start!

Next week and the spreadsheet

The very lovely Sayrra will create the spreadsheet based on the names already listed. It will be in alphabetical order.

If your name doesn't appear for any reason, just go to the bottom of the list and add your name. Don't try to re-alphabetize it, and avoid any of the cells Sayrra tells you to leave alone!!!

On Monday you can either add your actual weight, or you can index it - so you can start at 100 and subtract 1 for every pound that you lose.

Or you don't have to be on the spreadsheet at all if you prefer. Entirely up to you.

However, I should point out that the spreadsheet itself - known fondly as the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness - has lots of other resources that are really worth looking at. If you check out the tabs at the bottom, you'll find a list of veg carb counts, the rules of Bootcamp, and lots of links to other resources, such as videos, blogs, books etc. So have a good look around it.

Weigh-In is usually every Monday as that's when I start each week's new chat thread, but it's up to you if you use Monday's weight or any other day of the week if you prefer to weigh on a different day.

And a key reminded - it's not all about weight. It's really useful to take some measurements when you start as well. And/or, find a piece of clothing that's currently too tight for you - and each week try it on and see how it's fitting you. That's a really motivating way to see how much weight you're losing!

For those using the spreadsheet, if you are struggling to use it to add your weight, you can enter it on the thread. I usually check in every evening and will go through the posts and assist where I can.
Please try to add yourself first though, as it can be quite time consuming. Smile

Thanks lexloofah I've never had an op before and finding out its going to be so soon has rattled me! Not sure how well I'll be able to stick to this bootcamp afterward but I'll try.

I am determined that this year will be the last year I am fat!

Fabbyshopper there are different rules for you as a vegetarian, so make sure that you check those out on the spreadsheet.

Also, check out the recipe thread, which is stickied at the top of the Bootcamp topic - lots of lovely recipes there, many of which are vegetarian.

Also worth checking out Rose Elliott's cook book called The Vegetarian Low Carb Diet book - she has her own low carb diet, which I haven't read, but there are some lovely recipes in her cook book.
