BIWI · 07/03/2016 07:21

3 weeks?! I hear you cry! How come? Well, there are three weigh-ins left until we finish, so if we really concentrate and focus, that's a chance to lose at least three more pesky pounds.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for this week

Good luck everyone Flowers

Oh ps lex I bought my spiraliser for a temner off eBay and it is awesome.

LexLoofah · 09/03/2016 18:41

diva I know, I can't believe all the people/associations/companies that have ponied up the money for some of the days/weeks that are on there, lots of worthy ones of course but doubt we really need an official pillow fight day Confused

B - smoked mackerel, scr eggs
L- leftover ragu, courgetti in garlic butter
D- 2 lamb chops and fat from 6, roast celeriac chunks, broccoli, butter

have a rhubarb version of crabby's crumble ready to bake later, it is crumble kind of weather

so windy, cold and rainy here today have had too many cups of tea, all with almond milk but still...

DiscoDancer · 09/03/2016 20:43

Really struggling to get back on the LC wagon. Have got some stress going on, but need to lose that final half stone. Have done well so far but should I have a break for a few days or kOKO? Here is my own weight tracker in kg. So tired recently too and just feeling down at the moment, any tips?

DiscoDancer · 09/03/2016 20:44

This would help.

Week 8 - Low Carb Bootcamp - how much can we lose in the next 3 weeks?!
DiscoDancer · 09/03/2016 20:44

Will catch up with others posts in a while

feekerry · 10/03/2016 07:05

When I am really struggling disco I set myself a day in advance like 2 days time and prepare to kick start it again on that day. I feel it takes the pressure off when I feel like crap and gives me something to work towards.
So I would say lets just forget today and relax and start again from tomorrow then I would spend some time getting meals etc ready for tomorrow so I get off to a great start. I feel once I take the pressure off I'm not actually that bad!!
God that's sounds like waffle. Sorry!!

LexLoofah · 10/03/2016 12:54

disco sorry to hear you are having a hard time, if you do take a few days off try not to go mad on the carbs as a gain will only depress you further as I know from bitter experience, it is not worth it and use the time to make meal plans and shop so you are ready to start again - come on, half a stone to go, you are so close!

B - mushrooms and eggs in butter
L - roast pepper, shallot, courgette, aubergine with chorizo then rhubarb and greek yog
D - will be butchers sausages, cauli mash and cabbage or broccoli

bit of dark choc and an extra cup of tea today as been on a farm and got quite cold, it was worth it though, saw several lambs being born

ChesterDrawers · 10/03/2016 13:47

Disco no real advice but wanted to let you know you are not alone Flowers. I'm struggling to get back on and caved and ate crap last night after a long stressful day, during which my dear old dog had to have an operation.

He's come through fine, but it was too much for me last night and I went off on one. Result is today I feel fat, bloated, fed up and tempted to chuck it all in. I have just gone and bought myself an odd LC snacky lunch with all my favourite stuff but I agree it's so hard to keep focussing when there is other shit going on in life.

Today's plan:
B: Eggs, butter, cheese
L: M&S prawns and thousand island dip, crispy bacon strips, two mini cheeses, some salted mixed nuts (may not eat all of this, but then again...)
D: chicken thighs, slow cooked in tomatoes, mushrooms, leeks, courgette and shallot, cauli rice with butter. There will be gin too.

Really need to get back into excersise, but not today...

GuyMartinsSideburns · 10/03/2016 14:14

Hello all its me again! Dh got his results this morning, he appears to be in remission! I'm obv extremely happy but in shock too, anyway just popped on to ask if I can hop back on the spreadsheet again, if so il be weighing in on Monday cos we really don't wanna discuss my diet over this past week.

DrDiva · 10/03/2016 14:27

Wonderful news, guy ! So happy for you and your DH.

LexLoofah · 10/03/2016 16:38

guy that is brilliant news, yes hop back on!

Wombatinabathhat · 10/03/2016 17:56

Great news Guy Thanks

NigellasGuest · 10/03/2016 18:59

wonderful news Guy!

I'm doing well, STS still though.

I've actually managed to get into meditation a little bit, so I'm working hard on that tummy-expanding cortisol!

blackteaplease · 10/03/2016 19:51

Guy that is fantastic news.

Dc1 has been off school today with chronic constipation, today is day 1 of a disimpaction regime. I am hoping it doesn't take too long to get her well again. Obviously it's not a life threatening illness but it is awful to see your dc in pain.

BetsyM00 · 10/03/2016 21:17

Good news and welcome back Guy.

Hope you are still with us Disco. You've done really well to lose over a stone since the start of Jan, and we've only got 2-and-a-bit weeks left to the end of BC - the final wee push to lose the last few pounds?

Sometimes when life is stressful I seem to find this diet easier, as it's at least one area of my life in which I do have total control over.

And we need as many bods as possible on the spreadsheet - have you seen how few of us are left compared to the start of BC. Smile

BetsyM00 · 10/03/2016 21:18

Just want to ask if anyone uses/likes sweeteners?

I bought SilverSpoon's granulated Truvia and used it in some strawberry cheesecake fat bombs and oh my god is it vile! I ate half a fat bomb and the aftertaste of it is still lingering hours later.

I'm going to redo the recipe without any sweetener, can't really see why it needs any at all. But any recommendations for anything nicer?

BIWI · 10/03/2016 22:59

Guy that's absolutely bloody fantastically brilliant Grin Flowers

BIWI · 10/03/2016 23:00

Betsy it's always like this - not many people can stick Bootcamp for the full 10 weeks!

hefzi · 11/03/2016 09:14

Guy brilliant news!

My wonderful (for once) little brother has shown me how to get the magic internet to work better, so I am excited to be able to post again: I feel like I've been missing a lot. Mainly, though, I'm in to send big hugs (and I don't care that apparently they are non-U on MN, because I am well 'ard Grin) to BIWI, Chester, Lex, Stunt and anyone else who is having a tough time with their loved ones or themselves atm Flowers

I'm trying my hardest to KOKO, but have been a bit deviant: unfortunately, I have discovered that my DM has the same scales as me - except they think I weigh a lot less than I do at home Grin I'd love to think that I've lost 6lb in the last 2 1/2 weeks, but I strongly supsect that rather than an amazing whoosh, it's just different bathroom floors! I'm hoping to be back on track more now, though: I bit the bullet and had a polite chat about what foodstuffs I would like to try to avoid where possible - I hard boiled some eggs yesterday, and am planning some lovely egg mayo today. Whoever thought I would get egg cravings after moaning I was starting to look (more) like an egg?!

There is also loads of lovely rhubarb in the garden - I usually bake it or stew it with cinnamon instead of sugar, so I am planning a raid today: I can't believe how expensive it is in the supermarkets, so I can't usually justify having it - I'm also negotiating with DF for rhubarb care packages once I go home Grin

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunny weather we have down here today - and that things are looking up for everyone who's been under stress recently.

GuyMartinsSideburns · 11/03/2016 09:14

Thanks for the kind words all Smile don't really know what to do with myself today!

I daren't weigh myself this morning but I'm back on it as from now so hopefully weigh in Monday won't be too bad. My appetite is weird at the moment as I started anti depressants on Monday. Sometimes I feel sick, other times I'm really hungry. I'm hoping that's something that will sort itself out when a) I'm used to the meds and b) when I'm back in the swing of low carbing. Anyone have any experience of this? I'm on citalopram.

We were too knackered yesterday to celebrate the good news but will be having champagne later. I think that's ok isn't it.

Have a lovely day everyone and thanks again xx

ChesterDrawers · 11/03/2016 09:59

Lovely to hear your great news Guy Flowers Welcome back!

Feeling a bit more in the swing of it today. Friday's are always weird though as I'm off work and tend to be out and about a bit but I will stick with it, come what may.

B: eggs, butter, cheese
L: ?????
D: was going to do donner kebab, but have pork mince instead of lamb. Will probs give it a go anyway. With swede chips, and other veggies

Off to a posh hotel for a spa, meal and overnight stay as part of Operation Sorting Marital Shit Out. I think the food should be ok, but TBH I am not going to stress if not as somethings are more important. Breakfast should be perfect though so Sunday I'll be back on it regardless.

Right, off to shave legs, exfoliate, try on dress for tomorrow please God, let it fit! then I'm off into town to get my eyebrows threaded. Really need to get my arse off MN!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 11/03/2016 10:06

oh Guy that is bloody brilliant news! So so pleased for you both/all, that's amazing! Long may remission last. WineThanks

I'm still doing badly. But not gaining any more, just not losing. However, I'm still sticking to the basics of bootcamp in terms of the starch aspects at least.

I did so well the first time I did this WOE and have never managed to do as well again - just can't seem to hack the chocolate deprivation! More hooked than I knew

I'll KOKO though because the alternative => flubber gain again, which I really don't want.

Truvia, btw is disgusting. So is stevia itself - even though it's a natural sweetener, it just tastes so chemically to me! I find the sugar polyols (sorbitol, mannitol etc.) are the "best" in terms of taste, but I wouldn't know where to buy them for home use.

ShebaQueen · 11/03/2016 10:29

Flowers for Guy, so pleased you've had some positive news, such a relief for you
Hefzi, welcome back, nice to "see" you again, hope you are making a good recovery
Good luck this weekend Chester

I am very excited as managed to get into a pair of size 14 "slim fit" jeans yesterday! Major milestone for me - I was a size 20 when I started this WOE almost a year ago (April 13th to be precise). BIWI I love you Smile

I will definitely be KOKOing beyond this bootcamp, in fact forever. I still want to lose about another stone or so.

mybrainhurtsalot · 11/03/2016 10:43

I've been following along since the start of Feb ( so started a bit late) but I haven't posted. I've been logging my morning weight each morning and seem to be averaging about a pound a week overall.

My Monday weights were:

1st Feb: 149
8th Feb: 147
15th Feb: 147
22nd Feb: 146
29th Feb: 144
7th March: 143

I am still having xylitol in my coffee, but never have more than two cups a day. And the other area I struggle with is drinking enough water. Otherwise, no cheating at all.

It's been really helpful to be able to follow along with everyone else as I think it's kept me on track. I'm not normally a dieting person and I never in a million years imagined I'd have the willpower to give up sugar/bread/ pasta etc but it's been surprisingly painless. So thank you to everyone Flowers Flowers

mybrainhurtsalot · 11/03/2016 10:49

Sorry, had been intending to say to Betsy that I find xylitol good as a sugar replacement. I use Total Sweet and a spoonful of that is the same as a spoon of sugar in volume/sweetness so should be easy to do a straight switch in recipes.
