We can only do the best we can. No point in going on housework threads if you're a working LP who never has a break from the kids. Or if you're a SAHM LP with small kids who can't get to the gym.

So, a thread for us to start the New Year with good intentions and to juggle it around everything else we have to do Smile.

  • I banned Minecraft today and tomorrow after some shocking behaviour (kicking each other in the supermarket) the dc's had a burst of enthusiasm, dysoning and tidying up to get back in my good books.
  • I have managed to get out for a few runs over Xmas. We stayed with my mum for a couple of days so I went out then.

Here's to a positive start to 2015.

How is everyonr today? Ive managed to get on top ish with housework. But healthy eating and exercise will have to wait until summer!!

Starlightbright1 · 19/01/2015 10:41

I have done a load of washing, deposited DS at school. Hoovered lounge, cleaned bathroom, done 15 minutes in my bedroom.. A week would probably never be enough, texted hairdresser to make appointment, I left voice mail beginning of Decemeber and she never replied so still need hair cutting 6 weeks later.

So now obviously cup of tea time

Diet wise not a good day already found a tub of cheese footballs I put in my bedroom when starting Christmas shopping and have eaten half the tub for breakfast Blush

Cup of tea time

fattymcfatfat · 19/01/2015 10:46

Ive been eating Cadbury éclairs!

BlackeyedSusan · 19/01/2015 11:05

well, I am supposed to be eating breakfast. (went out without as I overslept a little.)
todays tasks will include:
sleep
sweeping up the oats. there has been an oat blizzard in the kitchen as dd made her own breakfast. we are at the stage where she is not yet competent but needs to practise skills to achieve independence. i overslept as there was a lot of shouting and complaing and trooping up to my room to tell me she had spilt themilk in the living room.
putting pots away
washing up
putting the shopping away
trying to restore the livingroom to the point it had reaches last night.
hanging the rest of the washing.
finding important paperwork.
finding ds's football kit.
that should take me all day

fattymcfatfat · 19/01/2015 11:41

Im just doing washing today...and making sure a tornado doesnt hit the rest of my house! (Tornado being dd) Oh and I will put the pots away aswell but will get ds to help later as thats one of his jobs

BlackeyedSusan · 19/01/2015 15:43

I have slept and am therefore better equipped to drive and look after them.

I have also found some significant paperwork for ds. (cpy of diagnosis letter for his dla application)

need to find dd's now. urgently. grr.

I have generated half a carrier bag of recycling so that is positive.

still oaty though. humph.

fattymcfatfat · 19/01/2015 15:46

Dont worry about a few oats! I have a dog so any food gets spilt on my floor and I have an automatic hoover!

Rummikub · 20/01/2015 00:09

I've tried to get ahead for tomorrow by getting my lunch for work sorted today. Otherwise I'll eat junk. I'm also keeping apples in my desk so I can snack on them rather than crisps. Hoping these small steps will add up.

fattymcfatfat · 20/01/2015 00:24

Im sure they will. I would end up eating all of the apples and still buy crisps! I ate 6 bags of walkers french fries today and didnt realise! I have an excuse though haha!

Rummikub · 20/01/2015 00:41

:)
I did buy a big biscuit from greggs as part of today's lunch so attempting to redeem myself.
French fries are low calorie Wink

fattymcfatfat · 20/01/2015 01:15

So they are! Thank you haha

fattymcfatfat · 20/01/2015 09:17

Thd plan for today....hopefully get some busy work done and eat as healthily as my pregnancy cravings allow....and keep an eye on how many bags of crisps im eating...or I will never shift my baby weightonce bbump is here

FriedFishAndBread · 20/01/2015 09:28

Me and my dbff are doing the squat and abs challenge although there is a mixed up one in case anyone is interested in a quick workout.

We do abs in the morning and squats on night while the baths running as we can only fit the gym in once or twice a week.

Starlightbright1 · 20/01/2015 10:49

I have got back on plan today..Yoghurt for breakfast, 16 minutes on wii...Need to find another 14 mins somewhere today. Made cottage pie for tea with lean mince and carrot, swede and sweet potato topping...

So extra dishes today

Starlightbright1 · 21/01/2015 19:07

Lost 1 1/2 Lbs this week... So 7 1/2 in total so far

fattymcfatfat · 21/01/2015 20:46

Well done! Thats fantastic

minkGrundy · 22/01/2015 09:05

starlight I like the sound of that topping.

Well done on weight loss.

I have been throwing squats, presses etc. into my day here and thrre but that 30 day challenge looks good.
Signed up for the cycle to work challenge so trying to cycle more but the icy weather is a problem and I am actually cycling far less than usual.
House has gone on back burner. Should try to crack on with clearing the dds storage boxes.

RedBushedT · 22/01/2015 20:19

Glad to see everyone doing so well. I have good cleaning mojo, but the healthy eating & exercise mojo has abandoned me at the moment Envy

Need a kick up the bum!

Starlightbright1 · 22/01/2015 21:27

I have had 2 nights of general awful behaviour from Ds... I am seriously impressed with myself I have not drank myself into oblivion

I think I have finally sorted him out...but tomorrow is another day..

I made pea and ham soup ( home made )for lunch and just kept onto with cleaning nothing with extra effort

BlackeyedSusan · 24/01/2015 14:00

well done on the weight loss, or as dd insists, mass loss. (pedantic scientist)

cleaning has taken a back seat for a day or two.
this morning however, I have spent ten minutes folding laundry
cleaned that bath basin and tiles in the bathroom and bit around the basin.
flicked compost all over wiped worksurfaces.
sorted but not yet washed the dirty washing.

cound the bank statemen for the dla form. (it was handed to me by the postman)

ex is supposed to be coming but is not yet here.

meglet · 24/01/2015 14:26

I've wiped my bin down. It's almost returned to it's shiny stainless steel glory.

BlackeyedSusan · 24/01/2015 16:33

still not got the washing on, but I have swept the hall and tidied the post. put som eof the children's christmas cards in the recycling as we have loads, enough to shred and scatter over the floor do cutting and sticking for quite a while.
done some of the washing up more to do soon.
supervised the children's homework. (yay finished)

BlackeyedSusan · 24/01/2015 16:33

ex turned up at ten past four.

lizardqueenie · 24/01/2015 17:07

Ducking as we are back from our break away which was lovely, but have a mountain of washing & clothes hanging every where's

Ex picked Dd up this morning & then realised he didn't have car seat in his car Hmmgot mardy about giving her her tea tonight. Have felt pretty down today, I've cried a lot & my eyes hurt- anyone else have days like that?

House is tidy though & have done some online banking. Do need to fit some exercise in somewhere along the line. Have a friend over tonight some chat & wine will perk things up.

Mind you, gained about 5lb whilst away- does anyone take packed lunches to work? Could do with saving myself some money & eating better in that respect, what do you take in?

fattymcfatfat · 24/01/2015 17:43

Im an emotional wreck today. Doesnt help that im not well and ex decided he had to leave early as he had "work"....friends going out for his birthday and he couldnt get there any later than 4.....housework has to take a backseat today as spd is playing up and can barely move but still have to somehow manage to run after ds and dd. Just getting to my downstairs toilet leaves me in tears!
