We can only do the best we can. No point in going on housework threads if you're a working LP who never has a break from the kids. Or if you're a SAHM LP with small kids who can't get to the gym.

So, a thread for us to start the New Year with good intentions and to juggle it around everything else we have to do Smile.

  • I banned Minecraft today and tomorrow after some shocking behaviour (kicking each other in the supermarket) the dc's had a burst of enthusiasm, dysoning and tidying up to get back in my good books.
  • I have managed to get out for a few runs over Xmas. We stayed with my mum for a couple of days so I went out then.

Here's to a positive start to 2015.

... but I have not eaten breakfast yet, it is still sitting there while I MN! I did put a load of washing in though since I last posted.

Teaching123 · 14/02/2015 12:36

I've washed up. And put some rubbish out. Both large achievements for a Saturday morning I feel.

Still have a HUGE pile of clean/dry washing to put away that's been in my room for about a week. Complete with cat hairs now!!

BlackeyedSusan · 14/02/2015 13:17

I am thinking about putting my socks away. I have almost, excavated a path to the chest of drawers. Blush I am thinking about tidying far too much instead of actually tidying.

I have though, collected the recycling into the bag as opposed to near the bag spilling out of the bag.

Put the last lot of pots away. started on the next lot of pots.

done and hung a load of washing.

I also have a washing mountain. (clean stuff) and a bit smaller pile of dirty stuff. need to pick it up before ex comes and tramples everywhere.

fattymcfatfat · 14/02/2015 15:34

ive got a whole list of things from physio that im not allowed to do.
clean toilets
clean bath
bath dd
pick up anything below waist height
move furniture
push trolleys
hoover
push my pram....??
pick up dd...?!!
I laughed at her. this is all stuff I have to do regardless of what she says!

BlackeyedSusan · 14/02/2015 15:40

I should imagine that you can manage not to move furniture.

how the fuck are you meant not to do the rest?

fattymcfatfat · 14/02/2015 15:46

erm...develop superpowers?!

BlackeyedSusan · 14/02/2015 16:00

perhaps if you lie on the floor, then your waist will be at floor level and you can pick things up and put on a chair. then sit up and put the things from chair to table, then stand and lo and behold they will now be at waist height.

you will obviously have to pul lthe pram or trolley

sit in the bath and clean it with dd/ or shower.

and wee in a potty. wear nappies?

these of course magically h ave less effect on your pelvis than tha list of stuff she gave you.

did you get any exercises to do?

fattymcfatfat · 14/02/2015 16:20

no I have to go back to hospital in two weeks and again the week after that to get the exercises. ..but they want me there for half nine knowing I dont drive and have a six year old to get to school! genius!
I think I may have to try that! may take me a while to get anything done though! and I dont think they sell nappies big enough to cover my fat arse!

BlackeyedSusan · 14/02/2015 20:52

fabulous.

well. I washed up, did two loads of washing, put another in the machine but have run out of airing space so will wait til some of it is dry before starting that, cleaned the loo, (did the basin yesterday) and have picked up a few odds and ends.

fattymcfatfat · 14/02/2015 21:01

I had a nap...

meglet · 14/02/2015 23:52

Grin at 'develop super powers'.

Bloody hell fatty, that's an extensive list of things to avoid.

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 15/02/2015 00:26

yep I know but apparently it will be my own fault for not listening when I end up on crutches.
I had the same problems in my last pregnancy and didnt get any physio and managed without crutches. ..hmm...me thinks she is just a bossy cow Smile

BlackeyedSusan · 15/02/2015 16:18

shit. shit, shit.

dd has trodden in dog poo in the park. all her clothes are now in the wash, except for the tights that I left in a bag in the car. her shoes will need cleaning inside and out, along with her medical insoles.

ds has diarrhoea. this is the third time this afternoon.

fattymcfatfat · 15/02/2015 18:01

wow, literally shit!
hope ds feels better soon and hopefully your dd wont catch it!

BlackeyedSusan · 15/02/2015 21:56

don't think it is the catching sort. he is prone to it.

hallelujah! ex has taken two bags full of stuff away with him.

I have done washing, and hung some, and coped with a couple of meltdowns today. ds had a humdinger of a meltdown. let ex deal with the first half of it until I could manage to go downstairs and deal with the long, long tail off of a meltdown.

fattymcfatfat · 15/02/2015 22:10

my ds is the same as is my dm! at least you have had a bit of help! granted may not be much but better than nothing

Starlightbright1 · 15/02/2015 23:04

I am back....Weight wise not going near those scales..

Washer is on and I still have a mountain of washing to do..Shopping tomorrow as we have very little food in the house...Though friend dropped some bread and milk in ....

BlackeyedSusan · 15/02/2015 23:41

did you have a good time?

Starlightbright1 · 15/02/2015 23:45

LOL yes forgot to mention what a great time we had....

Everything went really smoothly.. He went off with kids club activities, I read early 2 books in a week.. unheard of. I would do it again in a heartbeat... I feel very relaxed and a shame my tan will be hidden under a big thick coat and boots tomorrow

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 08:55

glad you had fun Smile

BlackeyedSusan · 16/02/2015 11:16

offs. still sat on my derrier and not done anything yet. I did have a lie in though. oh that wonderful age when they can get their own breakfast.

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 11:48

my dd can now climb onto the couch un aided....she fell.off and whacked her head. oops! shes fine now I just picked her up cuddled her and now shes trying to do it again which means I can't leave her today...fun...

BlackeyedSusan · 16/02/2015 13:08

Grr. v annoying fmff.

I have started the great tidy/ pack/have a massive melt down day.

Previous pots away, sink/draining board cleaned, started the pot washing, washed the cushion that was sicked on.

I have laundry folded and hung dd's uniform; taken out some of ds's old tshirts to give to my friend.

Dd has started tidying toys and has done a good job.

I am pissed off at the number of extra pots I am washing because ex uses far too many and not impressed at finding his orange peel and spat out pips on the table.

I need to get their lunch and keep going.

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 13:35

wow. at least you have constant reminders to never go back there!
I have to put my cushion covers back on my couch. but cba, dd is napping now so am going to put the washing away

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 17:13

pasta bake...kids were hungry, had early tea...dd needed a bath as she never uses a fork/spoon... I now have pasta bake smeared over my white walls from where she has run her hand along it on the way upstairs!
