CSA for step child

Now my ex has a step child living with him, does this lessen my csa payments?

OP posts:

Mine IS particularly shite though. The best they EVER had was a 6 week lead time on a change of circs. Remember THAT well from the days of 60 hr work on 22.5hr basic. I'd have handed in March's payslip before they'd reassessed whether to pay £10 that month or nothing for JANUARY...

I almost lost my new house because it took 13 weeks for them to process my new address and rent rise...and that's average here right now.

The thought that if an NRP decided to withhold maintenance the day before rent is due would make HB pay the full rent that month makes me fall to the floor and laugh like Peppa and George Pig...

needaholiday Only in certain locations. I am lucky mine is now same day but it used to be 15 weeks.

One question though... Do you practice at being an ignorant cunt or was it something you were born with the ability for?

CouthyMow · 31/01/2014 23:21

Cross posted. The 13 weeks WAS fast tracked. I know of people here sat in their MP's office after waiting 20 weeks for a HB CoC to be processed. Mostly because it's usually me advising them to get their MP involved...

FloweryFeatureWall · 31/01/2014 23:22

I feel really lucky with my council now. I never knew it was so bad in some places :(

CouthyMow · 31/01/2014 23:23

(That was fast tracked due to having multiple people with disabilities in my household, and the move was essential for an adapted property...you can imagine how fit, healthy RP's are treated...)

How am I making "excuses for shit parents"?

Really? You are either being deliberately obtuse or someone else has written your previous posts.

CouthyMow · 31/01/2014 23:25

Needaholiday, not all areas are as shit hot as your council obviously is. The vast percentage of people claiming HB in our town are on NMW, zero hour or short hour contracts, and hope to get overtime, so they are constantly chasing their tail in our HB dept, as the MAJORITY of their claims need reassessing EVERY MONTH.

Makes lead times even on urgent cases drag longer and longer.

Monetbyhimself · 31/01/2014 23:26

Ashtrayheart luckily there are loads of decent people like you around Smile

It's unfortunate that they have halved the staffing levels in our HB assessment office to cut costs, too...

basgetti · 31/01/2014 23:27

It does seem a bit strange to be suggesting and arguing a way to further disadvantage and impoverish lone parents on a thread where many posters have shared just how hard it can be with zero or little CM.

CouthyMow · 31/01/2014 23:28

I give up with this thread. Between Frogs and ineedaholiday, it's too bad for my blood pressure to be dealing with such great amounts of disingenuous posts...

IneedAsockamnesty · 31/01/2014 23:28

It is rather odd

I don't think it's odd... It's goady. They seem to resent RP for some reason. I can't see why they would I could make assumptions though

IneedAsockamnesty · 31/01/2014 23:33

Ok,so why should it be paid just to keep the children at benefit level?

How is that helpful to the child

MeepMeepVrooooom · 31/01/2014 23:38

Haha I find bitch quite complimentary on this thread. I am being a bitch to people like you on purpose. Wine cheers.

I don't have a little cave i have a big ass house thanks. Don't act like one if you don't want to be treated like one. You reap what you sow.

Needaholidaynow, whilst so many LPs are going without adequate CM if any, and benefits are being frozen, why do you think benefits should be reduced if maintenance is received so that a DC is being sustained at the bare minimum the government says you need to survive?

CouthyMow · 31/01/2014 23:41

Actually, they were also MY points about the HB. But don't let that stop you...Hmm
