A few options:
Night out in town
Dinner out
Dinner and night in (I don't mind hosting if we all bring something)

Once we have decided on that bit, we'll need to think of some dates.

Count me in!

Sawyer64 · 10/11/2008 22:57

Sounds good to me!

Bit limited with evenings at the moment though.

Once you decide on a date, have to see if I can do some "juggling".

Mung · 10/11/2008 22:58

I wish I had a social calendar to 'juggle'.

Sawyer64 · 10/11/2008 23:11

A Social life would be nice,no this is work Mung!
Doing "Extended Hours" at Stanway Surgery on a Thursday, and Agency Community in Maldon on a Friday evening!

SparklyPrincess · 11/11/2008 11:17

I'm in - don't mind any of those options. xx

Mung · 11/11/2008 15:33

Oh Sawyer...that doesn't sound quite so appealing!

OP posts:
JentlyDoesIt · 11/11/2008 20:35

I'm probably in Thursday evenings are out for me I'm afraid though...

Mung · 11/11/2008 21:03

I was really hoping that someone would have a preference and would make the decision much easier.

One thing to bear in mind with the eating out concept is that a lot of places will have limited menus and get booked up. I've found that indian/thai or other less traditional christmas fayre are good places to choose.

Quite fancy going out myself - always nice to have an excuse to fish out the heels!

Sawyer64 · 11/11/2008 22:08

Here Here to going out SP! Although flexible if not the majority choice.

If we go out, must think of somewhere accessible for the Clacton'ites.

Mung · 11/11/2008 22:19

heels...blimey!
Colchester town is probably the best option...we can all get there by public transport, on foot or taxi. Just need to decide where. Any suggestions of good places?

OP posts:
Sawyer64 · 11/11/2008 22:29

That Bollywood Nights was nice last year, called something different though then, might still have the same chef, and had a dancefloor,so you could practice your salsa skills, and SP could have a twirl in those Heels!

pooter · 12/11/2008 00:07

ooh, good idea - lets go out! your suggestion sounds good sawyer - im always up for a bit of dancing.

JentlyDoesIt · 12/11/2008 10:04

Sawyer's suggestion is brilliant!

The place she is talking about used to be called Planet Asia but has been taken over by the people who own the Mogul in Manningtree (this is where all the local 'slebs like Roger Moore go for curry). It is now called the Bollywood Inn and is REALLY nice. I took DP there for his birthday.

It is on the St Boltophs roundabout so is right opposite ColchesterTown station which would be good for those coming from Clacton etc and is a 10 minute walk from my house (though not if I get the Jimmy Choos out...)

They have Elvis nights as well as other tribute acts (recently had Freddie Mercury and Robbie Williams too)

purpleflower · 12/11/2008 10:42

Oooh the mogul does fantastic food but the owner is a little bit creepy!

I don't think I will be able to make it as cash is very tight this month but I will see what I can do.

If I can't make it I hope you have a great time

MadameCastafiore · 12/11/2008 14:28

I will come and see you guys all again if my face has healed by then - have big nose op on 26th!

Am joining slimming world again tomorrow so will be up for plenty f slimline and a chicken sachlick (sp??)

Hope you guys are all ok, New York was shite - give me a quiet hotel in the Cotswolds anyday to the dirty hussle and bussle of the big city and the hprrid greasy food.

pooter · 12/11/2008 17:40

ooh, madame - i know you are a common or garden housewife these days, but you dont half live the life of a jetsetter!

nooyoik is one of the places i have absolutely no desire to go - all those people! Although i feel kindly towards the americains these days - all hail Obama!

so when are we going to go out?? just check my diary.......yep, any day until the apocalypse is fine with me.

Twims · 12/11/2008 17:55

just check my diary.......yep, any day until the apocalypse is fine with me - That's gotta be one of the quotes of the week Pooter

lucyfer2000 · 12/11/2008 19:41

I think that a night out with lots of mental mums sounds like a good one !!

I never get bored of curry and have never heard of this bollywood place so that sounds good to me. bit of bollywood dancing wouldn't go too far amiss either..

a week night would probably be better for me because we seem to have most of our weekends before xmas busied up now - although Fridays would probably be ok.

JentlyDoesIt · 12/11/2008 20:26

PMSL - yep, Pooter wins quote of the week

Thursday nights aren't set in stone so I could make it if it's the only night available. It might be easier to book on a week night too.

Good luck MadameC
