Jazzicatz · 05/08/2008 18:53

There is a great free swimming pool for the littlies and a bigger one for the older children which is outside near the river. Always good for a trip - can bring picnic and sit for hours.

2manykidsNobraincells · 06/08/2008 10:16

cool jazzi that sounds good. Is there a bus service from abingdon to u

OP posts:
Jazzicatz · 06/08/2008 15:14

I think so - I will have a look. But I drive so maybe its easier for me to come to Abingdon?

SpaceHopperHayls · 06/08/2008 17:28

I'm in Benson, would love a picnic at the pool in Wallingford! (Or, given the fab weather so far this week, a rainy walk...)

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/08/2008 20:29

Hey all.

2many, there is a bus service, run by thames travel, but I'm not sure of the frequency. If you did decide to go by bus I'd prob come with you, if I can get my tank on!

Or if everyone is up for it we can try and think of something to do in Abingdon. Or do both... there is still 3 weeks to fill

I took mine to the Natural History Museum in Oxford today, which they enjoyed, so maybe that is also an option with a picnic in the Uni park to follow?

Ready4anotherCoffee · 06/08/2008 20:31

Duh, there is always Albert Park for a picnic... take a ball and leave them run

2many... are you still ok to have my 2 tomorrow morning?

2manykidsNobraincells · 07/08/2008 22:27

I'm up 4 anything my lot r driving me crazy. We could always do water shoots down the abbey that way it won't matter if its raining coz kids will b wet anyway!!
Will this weather ever get any better!

Ready4anotherCoffee · 07/08/2008 22:48

nah, last week was our summer!

I'm at Farmer Gows tomorrow, but am around over the weekend. My ds is dead keen on jumping into your ppool, I'd have popped back but they'd played me up in town a bit and were tired.

Ds went to sleep on the floor in his snowsuit tonight

Hello

I have just logged on after a fair break... and was surprised to see Benson and Wallingford!!! i'm in Cholsey and have a 5 month old daughter and LOVING being a mum

FfreckleFface · 02/09/2008 11:45

Ooh, Christina, I'm in Benson and have a six month old daughter. Maybe we could meet in Wallingford?

Goldberry · 04/09/2008 09:48

Hi all. Am new to Mumsnet local. I'm in Sutton Courtenay (nr Abingdon) and have a 3 year old daughter and 5 month old son. Would definitely be up for meeting up with any MNers in the Abingdon area. Trying to make the most of my maternity leave before going back to work in November!

ChristinaRobinson · 05/09/2008 00:01

Hi Ffrecklefface, this would be great, or the waterfront cafe is a lovely location... the best time for me would be on a Tuesday morning... would this be oaky with you?

Ready4anotherCoffee · 05/09/2008 00:11

freckleface and Christina let us know when and where won't you

Goldberry, would love to meet up, do you fancy Abingdon? we often have a coffee in the coffee shop on the High Street. Or we could do a park... I have a 2yo and 6mth, and 2many has a 3yo and 21mths.
which school do you teach in?

ChristinaRobinson · 05/09/2008 00:25

Hi Ready4anothercoffee

the waterfront cafe is in Benson, it is a great little place, with nappy change facilites and both inside and outside seating. it is right next to the boat hire place and right on the river.
And... they do lovely home made cakes

I have suggested to ffrecklefface a Tuesday morning, how would this be for you?

I also noted that SpaceHopperHayls and Jazzicatz are also very local.
