I live about 10 miles from Bath with 14 month old ds. Would love to meet up with any MNers in the vicinity - I can do Bath, Wiltshire or Somerset. By the way - Dillinger, hope all went well with your new arrival!

Hi, I am new to this site. I am 18 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, I had my first 20 years ago when I was 16. So all this seems to be new again as I have forgotten so much.

Is there anyone in the Bath area that would like to meet up? I live about 8 miles from Bath, in Keynsham, but it is fairly easy to get to Bath.

sazzerbear · 27/07/2008 12:02

Come on MNers, surely there must be more than two of us in the locality who want to meet up!!!!

I'm in Bath!

vonsudenfed · 27/07/2008 12:59

I'm south of Bath - Somerset/Wiltshire border...

sazzerbear · 27/07/2008 13:20

Well does everyone fancy meeting up? What about Victoria Park - how old are all your dds/ds's?

OP posts:
SheikYerbouti · 27/07/2008 13:34

Mine are 23 months and 3.7

Vicky park is a bit mental I think for meet ups - can I suggest Weston Rec or Alexandra Park?

sazzerbear · 27/07/2008 13:47

Happy to meet up wherever, although I can't do anything till beginning of Sept, shall we all pencil in a date?

I'm in Bath, too - have 2 DSs, 2.5 and 0.5. Would love to meet up, September fine for me!

dillinger · 28/07/2008 11:57

Trust me to arrive late lol

Sazzerbear - thanks, things went well and Im glad shes here lol

Ds is 2.6, dd 17 weeks.

Vicky park is lovely but a bit manic on nice days! To be honest its hellish and its difficult to keep an eye on ds there with dd - he runs from one end to the other and back, and again, and again...

One thing I am silly about is parking though, Ive hardly driven since passing in feb and havent even attempted trying to park in town Could bus it but ds throwing a paddy after a busy morning would be inevitable

sazzerbear · 28/07/2008 14:31

I am happy to meet anywhere (within reason!) LOL. What about Weston Rec or alex park as suggested by SheikYerbouti? MRers have a think!

TooTicky · 28/07/2008 14:34

I'm in west Wilts...

dillinger · 28/07/2008 15:57

I guess Alexandra park might be easier for me so thats my vote

I'll chat to dp he knows Bath mega well whereas I cant 'recall' places iyswim

Id know it if I saw it lol

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 16:00

Alex park is less reachable ob Public transport than Weston Rec (YTou;d have to get a bus to Bear Flat and walk up a fecking big hill)

Weston Rec is reachable easily by the 17, 14 and 20 (bus geek)

(Plus it's at the end of myt road)

[ulterior motive]

dillinger · 28/07/2008 16:07

Lol well you see ideally Id walk to the designated meeting area and get the bus home. Either in walking distance for me? Im up the dreaded f.h if you recall

dillinger · 28/07/2008 16:09

Ooh this is exciting Ive never been on a meet up before! Am concerned about ds deciding that day was to be a 'play up' day tho

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 16:09

I think the no 20 goes by you, but takes about an hour to get to Weston. Or you couyld get a bus into town and get the 14 or 17

Not sure anout buses to Bear Flat from you tbh. I've always been a BA1 girl (not the posh bit though )

dillinger · 28/07/2008 16:10

Aargh think Ive had a thought - is Alex park up a MEGA hill, I think Ive been there if it is, and if we go there Id walk to Bear Flat

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 16:11

I'm quite happy with AP, cos I can drive up there [lazy]

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 16:12

Yes, APn is up a MEGA hill

dillinger · 28/07/2008 16:14

Must be the one Im thinking of then. Went there few years ago with dp, when we didnt have kids an were romantic

Is parking easy up there? Not that Im going to drive, you understand.

SheikYerbouti · 28/07/2008 16:18

Last time I went was on a Saturday afternoon and parkling was fine.

Good views of town from up there

RoscoPColtrane · 28/07/2008 16:29

Hi, I'm in Bath. My own children are a bit older 7 & 10 but I childmind a couple of toddlers so would love to join in, can drive so nowhere impossible to get to.

dillinger · 28/07/2008 16:57

Yes I remember a fantastic view, twas lovely.

sazzerbear · 28/07/2008 17:31

I would not worry about the kids playing up, i'm sure they all will at some point in the proceedings!! Shall we pencil in a date and then finalise the arrangements nearer the time?
How exciting, a proper MNers meet!
