Relocating to Warrington

Hi all,

Myself, husband and son will be moving to Cheshire in a couple of months. We have done some scouting around and although in an ideal world we would rent in the area around Stockton Heath, there isn’t a great deal on the market….

We have considered all the “nice” areas that people have mentioned on other posts on here such as Lymm, Culcheth, N-L-W but again there isn’t a lot available.

Was hoping someone could recommend some other areas that we can add to list to widen our search. Would like to be in a catchment for a good school, 3 beds, upto £1300/£1400 per month.

Thanks!

@MrsRachelDanvers

ah perfect thanks, yeah we realised Sale and Timperley were out of the question but really don’t know Manchester well so wasn’t sure which other areas to consider, will have a look at Reddish and the Heatons.

@Dmblover places like Timperley and Sale now only something to modernise in your price range. However, I’d choose Reddish or the Heatons near Stockport over Warrington any time. Easy to get into the city centre and airport any time. Accessible for the Peaks. And far nicer as regards eating out and cultural life than Warrington.

Reddish has some nice and not so nice areas. The Heatons are very nice but even worse finding places to rent/buy.
That was our ideal area but there was literally nothing to buy and what there was, very expensive if 350K is the top end of your budget.

But crap for getting to Chester.

I know they're not Cheshire, but have you looked at Lowton and Golborne- not brilliant town centres but some decent new housing estates going up in that area and the schools are good.

Otherwise, I used to drive into Warrington from Ashton in Makerfield- just hop on the M6 or take the back roads through Burtonwood. I could get to Warrington centre in 25mins.
