I don't think many people have realised the "locals" exist
I think you only see the threads if you sign up

Sunshinemummy · 11/06/2007 12:25

I see. I saw them when I got the round-up last week. What are we supposed to do now?

Talk about local stuff I guess!!

deweydell · 16/06/2007 21:06

Hey there. I'm moving down to Tooting, well, Furzedown, in about six weeks time. Would love to confer on stuff going on but also up for meeting up with babies. Do you have babies/toddlers?

TheBlonde · 16/06/2007 21:47

Hello. I have a 2.4 yr old DS and a 12 week old DD

What about you?

deweydell · 17/06/2007 09:10

I have a one year old DD. Could work. How's having two?

Furzella · 19/06/2007 17:29

Hey deweydell - Furzedown's fantastic for kids. My two are a bit older than yours, but there are a couple of lovely playgroups you should try: St Albans Church Hall at the bottom of Pretoria Road on Tuesday mornings (from 10?) and the Furzedown Family Centre which has a daily mother and toddler session between 9.30 and 11.30ish and is in the campus of Graveney School on Welham Road. You'll meet masses of mums there. I moved to Furzedown when my older daughter was 18 months and I was hugely pregnant with my second and the Family Centre saved my life!!

deweydell · 20/06/2007 21:33

Thanks so much. It's kind of scary moving to a totally new neighbourhood. It does seem very kids-orientated round there. I'll check out those groups. How old are yours?

scaredypuss · 21/06/2007 09:27

Hi All,
Furzedown's great - lived there for 10 years and recently moved (3 weeks after birth) to just outside of Furzedown (off Mitcham Lane, nr. Southcroft Rd). Wish I'd discovered this site earlier in pregnancy. Anyway, my little one is 18 weeks now, so we're very keen to get out and meet local mums. Does anyone know of a local 1 o'clock club or similar?
Look forward to hearing from you.
scaredypuss - not scared anymore (since birth went v. well)!

deweydell · 22/06/2007 09:27

I move down at the end of July. I'll post on this link and arrange to hook up. So glad to have some connections there.

nibbs · 22/06/2007 14:44

hi all - I'm an earlsfield mum - one 18 month old boy and a bump! Will be great to know some more local people once the Bump has arrived.
The 1o'clock clubs are great, particularly the sensory room in the one by the Leather Bottle pub on Garratt Lane. It's wonderful for little ones as lots of lights and things to look at, and it exhausts them! Think either 44, 77 or 270 bus runs from there to Mitcham?

This is excellent news. We should arrange to meet at one of these clubs. Do they run through the summer?

Gabrielle79 · 25/06/2007 10:28

Hi Ladies,
I am a Wandsworth based - I come to you for manicures and pedicures. Is this something that may be of interest to you - say for your coffee mornings?
Gabby

Furzella · 25/06/2007 12:07

There's a lunchtime playgroup at All Sorts on Welham Road in Furzedown, but I can't remember which day. There's a really good one o'clock club in Balham on the far side of Tooting Common - if you cross Garrard Lane (or is it Bedford Hill at that point) and then keep walking across the Common for another 5 minutes you'll get there. It's lovely - basic room but lots of good arty-crafty stuff. Having said that, I haven't been to it for about 18 months, but it certainly used to be great.

My dds are 5 and 3. Older dd is in reception at Penwortham and younger dd is starting in Nursery there in September.

deweydell · 25/06/2007 13:38

I have a friend whose son is in reception at P'wortham. Great tips for 1 o'clock club. Thanks.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 28/06/2007 17:33

Hello also Ealsfield based with 1 15m old DS. Work full time so 1 o'clock club not an option but just moved into area so keen to meet other mums and get to know what's available to do.

manicmama · 28/06/2007 18:31

I'm in Wandsworth so just thought I would say hello

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 29/06/2007 12:10

Hello. DS's nursery is in Wandsworth.

StarryStarryNight · 29/06/2007 19:26

Hi,
I have two sons, one who is 5 and one who is 2! I am also keen to meet up with other Wandsworth mums, we live in Putney.

If you know any good One O'clock clubs, or other places you take your little ones, why not share it with us and add a listing?
